Urgh, it's so disappointing. I used think Gerard Butler was every kind of phwoarrgh but have finally had to accept that he's an unwashed, bloated smelly looking guy who just isn't what he thinks he is. Arrogance without any kind of respect or charisma is just a flattened pizza with no topping stuck behind the sofa.

Laurence Fox before he revealed his rather unsavoury bigoted political opinions

I went a bit weak at the knees just reading that. Lucky you! He is/used to be pretty local to me and I've heard stories of him being lovely in person and always willing to have photos taken etc.

You and I must be fairly close neighbours 😁

edithjc · 12/02/2023 07:03

I was coming here to say Mickey Rourke, but a lot of people have beaten me to it. Mickey Rourke might be the definitive answer. Mickey Rourke in 9 1/2 Weeks is the epitome of sexiness!

Hugh Grant, Rupert Everett (once so beautiful in 'Another Country',) both Anthony Andrews and Jeremy Irons in 'Brideshead Revisited.'

Rupert Graves is still totally perfect.

Agree that Rupert Graves has stayed very handsome , actually I think he is more handsome now, while the others on that list haven’t aged well.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 12/02/2023 12:40

some men definitely improve with age

90's brett anderson - androgynous druggie
20's brett anderson - rugged rock star. seriously, check him out.

ryan reynolds looks miles better to me now too. I never could see it in the 00's and 10's, but I'm starting to get it now

I had a huge crush on Julian Sands so it's sad to see the latest news on him. After nearly a month it's very unlikely that he'll be found alive and the police have more or less said as much.

Guu · 13/02/2023 15:34

Hugh Grant I had an absolutely huge poster of him, the type that goes on a bus stop, from Bridget Jones. On my wall as a teenager, now he just gives me the ick!

Tom Hiddledton

I fancied him in the Night Manager but then he posed in white boxer shorts and my crush melted away instantly

Sir Stealth Boast, I get what you mean 😅

Andrew Lincoln winked at me in Tesco a couple of years ago, after I chose merely to smile broadly at him in recognition, and not do anything else, which would have drawn attention to him. It made me go a bit weak!

Oh my, are you serious? It's a dream come true. Oh to meet someone famous at Tesco's, Jojo Moyes better not steal that idea or else 😕

I saw James McAvoy in a restaurant once. He was quite short with very short arms too. Kind of made him look like a small T-Rex.

I just snorted 😂I fancied him in Narnia but now not as much as he seems a bit too much. Simpler was better

Busybutbored · 18/02/2023 00:47

Jean Claude Van Damme and Arnold Swarzeneggar (funny now i cang even remember how to spell their names 🤣) 🤢

John Barrowman. Still like the character of Jack Harkness, but the actor... no.

Having met him the bloke has huge amount of charisma ( doesn't mean he isn't a pillock )

Laurence Fox, I rarely actually like blokes but really liked him in in the Morse thing. That turned out to be a huge misjudgment.

Cracker! That was it. Phwoar. Wasn't he just Wink [inserts more gratuitous sexist filth for the disapproving to clutch their pearls at.]

Yah, I had a thing for him too when I was a teenager. I can't say Hagrid put me off but maybe mainly because I avoided the HP films.

I also fancied Mickey Rourke more after he became a mess. There's something about a mess I find more attractive than a pretty boy, so long as it's a very masculine mess.

The chap who played Jim Carver in The Bill 😳😳

Omg Jim carver! We literally all used to sit on the sofa Tuesday and Thursday night, and if Carver was in the bill that night, we'd all shout ' mum, carvers in it!' and my mum would go all wobbly

ScottBakula · 18/02/2023 06:09

I loved The Bill , pc Garfield was a very handsome chap

It was the I ❤️ T.S. (Taylor Swift) t shirt that did it for me 🤢

Impressed at how well PP who don't think men talk like this and way, way worse about celebrity women every day curate their internet experience.

Johnny Depp for me. I find him repulsive now, gorgeous and mysterious in the nineties. Funnily enough many of his ardent defenders these days seem to have become obsessed with him because of the Pirate movies, which were the beginning of the end for me.

Soopermum1 · 18/02/2023 08:23

This thread inspired me to look up my celebrity crush, Andrew McCarthy on Instagram. He's even better looking now than he was then

I never know if Tom Hiddleson is being ironic or not.i mean the posing in the boxers was hilarious but did Tom take himself serious and think he was the bees knees 😃

DCousin has worked with TH. He takes himself very, very seriously and is generally a twat, though not malicious, apparently.

Oh no I was hoping he was poking fun at himself.

Mrsjayy · 18/02/2023 10:11

Definitely I can see how people think he is a bit of a twat bless him.

LynneBenfield · 18/02/2023 10:14

Has anyone said Alec Baldwin yet? What a disaster that turned out to be, in every sense.

Agree! And his wife is very strange - what was with her pretending to be Spanish for years?
