Urgh, it's so disappointing. I used think Gerard Butler was every kind of phwoarrgh but have finally had to accept that he's an unwashed, bloated smelly looking guy who just isn't what he thinks he is. Arrogance without any kind of respect or charisma is just a flattened pizza with no topping stuck behind the sofa.

Hugh Grant, Rupert Everett (once so beautiful in 'Another Country',) both Anthony Andrews and Jeremy Irons in 'Brideshead Revisited.'

Rupert Graves is still totally perfect.

He was my first ever crush I must have been about 8 or 9.

Few years older. Posters, mainly from the Jackie. So, so many posters. Grin

David Walliams … I was also obsessed with Spike (James Marsters) from Buffy; he definitely has not aged well.

oh god yes, Spike. Another inexplicable 'thighs up in flames' crush

I seriously worry about my taste in men

DarkDarkNight · 09/02/2023 22:27

Leonardo DiCaprio. Creepy, he needs to date someone vaguely close to his own age and fame/wealth. The power imbalance in his relationships feels so off.

midsomermurderess · 09/02/2023 22:28

Rupert Graves is indeed still totally perfect.

Penguinsaregreat · 09/02/2023 22:30

Robert Carlyle.
I know, what was I thinking.

Not an actor but Robert Palmer when he sang "Addicted to Love".

Always fancied Robert Palmer (RIP)

SerafinasGoose · 09/02/2023 22:30

A beautiful voice, intelligence and charisma are three qualities that never dim with age. So on that score, they are both elderly now but Anthony Hopkins and Timothy Dalton (must be something about the dulcet tones of the Welsh)!

James McAvoy worked in reverse for me: never fancied his younger, boyish looks but he keeps on improving with age. I don't see him as smug, but he has a quick, sometimes acerbic wit and is extremely smart.

Mel Gibson quickly killed any crush, not for the natural aging process but his behaviour.

And it beats me what could ever have been seen as attractive about Johnny Depp in the first place.

CheeseMuffin · 09/02/2023 22:31

I saw James McAvoy in a restaurant once. He was quite short with very short arms too. Kind of made him look like a small T-Rex.

Cherryana · 09/02/2023 22:33

There was this guy - I could google his name if I could be bothered. He was in Grange Hill and this fireman thing. Now he makes me want to vomit.

Agree totally but the other day I happened to put the tv on and there was an old film with him and my god he was beautiful.

Currently streaming Brookside for the sheer nostalgia 😍
In 1982 I fancied 'Damon' (Simon 0'Brien)
In 2023 I have reached the lofty heights of his older brother 'Barry' (Paul Usher)

In my defence, only on ep'4 so Tashy-Terry hasn't rocked up yet 😂

PissedOffofTiverton1790 · 09/02/2023 22:36

Ah no, I will not hear a bad word said about Keanu Reeves! A really lovely man by all accounts, who’s had so much heartache/tragedy in his life. He comes across as a thoroughly decent guy. I had such a crush on him when I was a teenager. And he’s even better looking now than he was as a young guy!

CheeseMuffin · 09/02/2023 22:36

Sean Bean in Sharpe was my very first crush. He was so dreamy. All my friends had posters of Paul Nichols and Leo Di Caprio and I had bloody Sean Bean in his 1800s military uniform posing with a canon 😂🤓

CallMeBettyBoop · 09/02/2023 22:59

Virgil from Thunderbirds.

Heartbroken to discover he was a puppet ...

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 09/02/2023 22:59

elp30 · 09/02/2023 21:55

There's nothing wrong with dear ole Kev.
He's still nice looking.

Mine was John Nettles

I first moved to England in 1995 on a fiancée visa and couldn't work so I watched television in the meantime and caught up with culture. I watched a lot of "Bergerac" reruns and thought he was quite attractive. I'm in the US now and there's a tv channel that plays "Midsomer Murders" on a 24-hour loop. I will always watch the episodes with him in it still. I still like him.

I know John Nettles. he is indeed a very nice person, a considerate and self effacing bloke.

John Michie from Taggart… when he was younger… he was gorgeous, cocky, charming, slightly naughty as D.I Robbie Ross. 💯💕
Hes had such a tough time recently, bless him.

@RustyExhaust excellent shout 👏
John Michie was very hot

You like a posh boy then ... 😄

PissedOffofTiverton1790 · 09/02/2023 23:44

Ohhh Anthony Andrews was the first man I truly admired in a film! The Scarlet Pimpernel! Still love watching it. And Ivanhoe.

John Alford? I confessed to that earlier as well.

Cherryana · 10/02/2023 02:15

@SwedishEdith thats him.

SantaBakula · 10/02/2023 03:12

I agree with pp Rupert graves is very handsome and I much prefer him older than younger.

Ohh and John nettles, bergerac was one of my favourite programs >>>swoooons<<<<
