Urgh, it's so disappointing. I used think Gerard Butler was every kind of phwoarrgh but have finally had to accept that he's an unwashed, bloated smelly looking guy who just isn't what he thinks he is. Arrogance without any kind of respect or charisma is just a flattened pizza with no topping stuck behind the sofa.

I think this is slightly different though, because of how showbiz lets each sex age - the women are required to have as much surgery as possible and never change, and if they do their careers are over and they disappear from public view.

Whereas men are told they only get better with age, blah blah. Except some don't, often because their egos get in the way and they think they are still God's gift (gerard butler), sometimes because their creepy private lives become more noticeable (hugh grant, leo di caprio, jude law). Sometimes it's because their appeal was truly just their youth, rather than anything else but we obvs didn't realise at the time.

I'd add Robert Pattinson (sexy in twilight, now just meh) and the Goss brothers (absolute gods in bros, now just over-tanned and over-primped) to the list.

My reasoning was to do with personality and nothing to do with looks. I immediately lose attraction when someone turns out to be a wanker.

Andrew Lincoln winked at me in Tesco a couple of years ago, after I chose merely to smile broadly at him in recognition, and not do anything else, which would have drawn attention to him. It made me go a bit weak!

I went a bit weak at the knees just reading that. Lucky you! He is/used to be pretty local to me and I've heard stories of him being lovely in person and always willing to have photos taken etc.

I've done the reverse with Mark Bonnar. He has definitely improved with age.
