Did anyone else watch this gorgeous film today? I absolutely bloody loved it and it had stayed with me all day. I have never read the book I must admit so cannot remark on that, but blimey what a fabulous story.

It was my least favourite version!
I didn't feel like I got to know and love any of the characters. Couldn't have cared less when Beth died.
I don't think I would have known what was happening most of the time if it wasn't a story I already knew so well.

I loved it, mostly because its the first time Jo saying no to Laurie has ever made sense! It had literally never occurred to me before that maybe Jo was gay, but the film hinted at it, and that realisation made it seem more emotionally 'true' to me. Also, I think it's more believable to say no to Timothy Chalamet than Christian Bale!

The 1949 version is the best imo. Although I love Winona Ryder as Jo.
There's an even older version from 1933 and I read some where that there was one made in the 20s but the footage doesn't exist anymore. No idea if that's true!
