Can't remember the name, but one about a young couple camping by a lake, they then get terrorised by a group of teenagers. I found it totally sickening. Also one made of TV movie years ago. It was about a small town in the US after a nuclear bombs, supposedly bonding to survive etc, however they didn't 🤔 they all just died slow, painful deaths. Awful, awful film!

mrsBeverleyGoldberg · 03/01/2018 08:04

I just read the plot for A Serbian Film and wish I could unread it. I don't think a film like that should be made.

StealthPolarBear · 03/01/2018 08:06

I could be making this up but didn't the writer get into trouble for it?

xXKXx · 03/01/2018 08:07

The human centipede Envy

AlChris · 03/01/2018 08:07

I have never been able to watch the Day of the Triffids again.

I've just googled A Serbian Film - even the plot summary is horrific.

Bonez · 03/01/2018 08:07

Irreversible.

OwtFerNowt · 03/01/2018 08:10

Run Lola Run was just awful. About a young Russian girl who gets trafficked into becoming a prostitute - I was sobbing after watching it.

You’ve got mixed up somewhere, that’s not the story of Run Lola Run.

For me, Dancer in the Dark and also Requirm for a Dream.

sparklebot90 · 03/01/2018 08:13

The hills have eyes.

Law abiding citizen.

SuburbanRhonda · 03/01/2018 08:14

The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover.

FabulouslyGlamorousFerret · 03/01/2018 08:18

La Bella Vita 😢

I've just googled A Serbian Film, how is it legal to produce a film like that? Just the plot on Wikipedia made me feel ill and I've got quite a strong stomach.

Surely it's creators must be psychologically disturbed freaks - which I suppose isn't illegal. Just Yuk. 🤢

Spudlet · 03/01/2018 08:18

The Invisible Man film with Kevin Bacon. I watched it on tv after I found it channel-hopping, when I was living abroad, thinking it would be a good chance to practice my language skills. I was definitely not expecting anything so disturbing.

TheQueenOfWands · 03/01/2018 08:19

Animal Farm.

StealthPolarBear · 03/01/2018 08:19

But you wouldn't want to be alone with them in a lift would you fabulous? Seriously disturbed

Caenea · 03/01/2018 08:20

I rather think I read somewhere that A Serbian Film was made deliberately, because either the director or the writer kept getting scenes cut for the sake of rating it a lower age so they intentionally made a film where the violence was the plot and thus could not be cut or rated...

It's still unbelievably sick though, but I think it was a "fuck you" project that wasn't meant to become the cult-horror flick it has actually become.

Newrules · 03/01/2018 08:21

Silence of the lambs. Horrendous. I wanted to walk out of the packed cinema.

Taffeta · 03/01/2018 08:21

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas Sad

StealthPolarBear · 03/01/2018 08:22

But to actually be able to imagine that stuff

Caenea · 03/01/2018 08:23

I really can't be too sure of that though, so don't quote me or take it as gospel or anything!

SoGoodToBeBackHomeAgain · 03/01/2018 08:24

The Wind That Shakes The Barley.

The kerb scene from American History X still haunts me years later.

Candyfloss1122 · 03/01/2018 08:28

@n2986 I think your thinking of Eden lake?

Candyfloss1122 · 03/01/2018 08:31

The human centipede...I'm usually pretty hard to shock but just found the whole thing horrific.

tattyheadsmum · 03/01/2018 08:34

Another vote for Wolf Creek. I used to love horror films before that.

Trainspotting, since I've had a baby. The scene with the baby would be too disturbing I think.

And Blue Valentine. Just the saddest, saddest thing I've ever seen. After I'd seen it at the cinema, someone bought it for me on DVD; I hid it as I couldnt even bring myself to look at the cover Blush !

HuskyMcClusky · 03/01/2018 08:34

Wolf Creek.

Made me sick to my stomach.

Run Lola Run was just awful. About a young Russian girl who gets trafficked into becoming a prostitute - I was sobbing after watching it.

That’s Lilya 4-ever. But I agree, harrowing movie.

DrRanjsRightEyebrow · 03/01/2018 08:36

Brimstone. A great movie but seriously traumatic stuff.

KERALA1 · 03/01/2018 08:36

Why do you all watch these horrible films? There is some weird sick need in humans to seek this stuff out - never understood it.
