Never watched St Elmo's Fire either and really feel I should!

I'm older than you! have never seen it and will soon give in to DD1's pleas for me to watch it with her.

Molly Ringwald went and did Pretty in Pink which in my expert on all soppy 80s movies was not great. that dress was bogging for a start and Duckie was way hotter than drippy Blane.

I am babysitting at a friends and they have it downloaded so I am sat here with wine and chocolate...perfect

I love 'St Elmo's Fire', totally DIDN'T get 'The Breakfast Club'... I seem to be on my own there, have tried three times now to get into it and it just leaves me completely unmoved and wanting my bed.

I think St Elmo's is great. I dragged DH to the bar where it was filmed when we were on holiday.

I like St Elmo's for it's 80's-tastic-ness. And it's big cheesy soundtrack complete with requisite 80's sax.

Best birthday I had was when I was a teenager and my best friend gave me a surprise dinner party at her house (spag bol) with my fave friends followed by a showing of The Breakfast Club in her sitting room. Friends for life

I wasted a large amount of my teenage years dreaming about Judd Nelson in the Breakfast Club....

Could be topped by The Outsiders though.
