As I always say on these 80s film threads because it's a bit of a dull fact and DH is bored of hearing it my choice of earrings is a direct result of watching Some Kind of Wonderful.

BunnyFint · 24/04/2015 22:59

I loved The Breakfast Club! Brilliant film. If you haven't seen it and get a chance to watch Heathers with Christian Slater and Winona Ryder.

BitterChocolate · 24/04/2015 23:01

Grin Pola. I'm old enough to have seen it first time around, clearly my eyesight is now too weak to read every post properly.

I've never really got over the obsession with John Cusack that started with that film. He's hotter in Grosse Point Blank though.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/04/2015 23:01

I hated, 'Heathers' - was so disappointed, as I really thought I'd like it.

Debinaround · 24/04/2015 23:09

Oh my god I had forgotten about The Sure Thing! I loved that film. Used to try and do the can thing with pop. Could never do it though. The girl who was "The sure thing" was in desperate house wives.

BrandNewIggi · 24/04/2015 23:10

Oh I used to do that thing with a coke can...
We were trying to watch Ferris Bueller tonight, ds had other ideas Hmm

ConnieBaby · 24/04/2015 23:11

Oh love BC and StEF. I had a one night stand with a complete dickhead at uni simply because he looked just like Andrew McCarthy. Blush
It's a shame he didn't go on to do more. Does anyone remember him in a pilot show with Honor Blackman? I think she was dead and had to wear a hospital gown the whole time? It was spooky but looked good. Shame it didn't take off.

MeganChips · 24/04/2015 23:14

The I loved The Breakfast club, I've been to the school, it's the same high school as Ferris Bueller.

I loved Pretty in Pink nearly as much. Andrew McCarthy, I had such a crush.

Sparklingbrook · 24/04/2015 23:17

Andrew McCarthy was great in SEF. Lesley was a cow to him. Remember 'It's not the fat chick?' Angry Why could she not stay in the bedroom? Angry

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/04/2015 23:17

Andrew M did nothing for me. Would far rather have Ducky.

BrandNewIggi · 24/04/2015 23:18

Andrew McCarthy has been in lots of things in recent times, have a look on google if you want to find more Smile

AmIthatHot · 24/04/2015 23:19

MyDog. I loved Class.

I had a huge crush on Andrew McCarthy. So I loved the scene in St Elmo's fire where he eventually gets it on with Ally Sheedy. I wished it was me.

Also love John Cusack, although I stopped following him on twitter as he was a bit weird

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 24/04/2015 23:20

I'm 48 and I've still never seen it. Or St Elmo's Fire, or Ferris Bueller, or Pretty in Pink. One of these days I'll get round to them.

Sparklingbrook · 24/04/2015 23:20

Remus. I would climb over Duckie and Blane to get to him....

I am nearly 41 and am watching The Breakfast Club for the first time...
Debinaround · 24/04/2015 23:25

Oh yes Stef was hot in an arrogant way. I always think of him being short like. Is he?

StupidBloodyKindle · 24/04/2015 23:25

Love the breakfast club. Have scratched my dvd sadlySad Whoever on tomorrow's world way back when, said cds/dvds were indestructible, had not yet met my future dc.

Judd Nelson was also excellent in a film called Stormy Weathers.
Some kind of wonderful was my favourite film as a teen, I also liked sixteen candles. And Easy A with emma stone is excellent and has a lovely homage to the breakfast club, say anything etc at the end.

StupidBloodyKindle · 24/04/2015 23:27

amithathot why was john cusack weird? I am not on twitter but am very nosey...Smile

Sparklingbrook · 24/04/2015 23:30

Another guilty pleasure 80s film of mine is She's Having a Baby with Kevin Bacon and her off Downton. Blush

Bogeyface · 24/04/2015 23:33

Its a terrible film!

I was a teen when it was released, I was the perfect age and I loved it but I saw it again recently and I hated it!

Bunch of snivelly self obsessed whiners who blame everything on their parents instead of their own selfish entitled selves.

I was gutted tbh, wished I had never re-watched it as I had fond memories of it until then.

Oh and dont get me started on the Ally Sheedy "make over" she looked better before, and why was she only interesting to Emilio Estevez when she suddenly looked like every other 80's American girl?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/04/2015 23:34

Agree that she looked better before with, 'All that black shit' on.

Sparklingbrook · 24/04/2015 23:34

Dirty Dancing is the one I loved and now can't watch. Big old sleaze fest that it is.

Panzee · 24/04/2015 23:35

Saw The Breakfast Club, St Elmo's Fire and Dirty Dancing as an adult.

They are all shite. :o

Fairenuff · 24/04/2015 23:36

Anyone remember A Letter to Brezhnev?

I will never forgive my cat for ruining the dvd Sad

Brandysnapper · 24/04/2015 23:37

Be off with you, Panzee!

whatdidthefoxsay · 24/04/2015 23:39
