I can't help but judge people who say their favourite film is 'Love Actually'.

At Christmas a friend was trying to convince me how romantic and touching it was and that the Colin Firth/Portuguese housekeeper scenario was so amusing and poignant.

I was sitting there like Hmm, thinking has the Tia Maria fried your brain cells... I actually couldn't help picking holes in the saccharine, simplistic, nonsensical, paint-by-numbers plotting and characterisation. And then just felt like the biggest Scrooge Bah Humbug person on Earth, ruining friend's favourite Christmas film which is the biggest pile of shite ever in the history of film making... I mean I bet even Richard Curtis judges people who love this film

However, I once took another friend who is a bit of an intellectual to see Hugh Jackman in 'Les Miserables'. I was all starry eyed and tearful at the finish [in a good way] whilst she was looking at me like this Hmm and saying okay, well that was, um, a bit of an emotional journey two hours wasted of my life I will never get back

So what film do others judge you for loving and which do you judge others for?

Romantic films or romantic comedies. I can't bear them.

Enjoy watching subtitled world cinema and some horror.

Grease, Dirty Dancing, Ghost are all awful. Wouldn't necessarily say I judge watchers of these. I just roll my eyes a bit.
Love Dumb & Dumber though and Mean Girls is one of my fave films.

Gamerchick: Devils Rejects is an excellent film so I don't think you're "touched". Also how excellent is the name Sherri Moon Zombie (the name of the actress who played the daughter/sister)

Scram: I can think of quite a few re-makes that are equally as good (if not better) as the original.

Dawn of the Dead
Funny Games
Let the right one in
Old Boy

At uni I dumped a guy because he liked Steven Segal movies. I like action films in a so bad they're fun kinda way but Segal is a step too far.

I judge anyone who likes 'comedy' like Dumb and Dumber, or anything with Jim Carrey in.

However my favourite Christmas film is Muppet Christmas Carol so I am 100% sure I would be judged for that!

Muppet Christmas Carol is ace!
My DP loves 'cheesy romcoms' so I've sat through quite a few. Love Clueless for one. most are utter shite though but I don't judge cos I love him!
I have a friend who loves zombie films. I try not to judge.

Mama Mia
PS I Love you.
Both awful.
I don't think I'll go to 50 shades.
I haven't read the books.
I don't like the theme - innocent girl and controlling man.
I can't believe it's 'a girl's night out'
Particularly in light of an ongoing court case here in Ireland.
