FrankelandFilly · 19/01/2015 22:03

We watched Overboard on Netflix the other day Grin

Also a film I haven't seen for absolutely yeeaaarrrs: Jumpin Jack Flash.
I can never get over the disappointment of how, er, non-good looking Jack is at the end Blush Grin

CurlyhairedAssassin · 19/01/2015 22:03

Untamed Heart. Christian Slater and Marisa Tomei. Amazing chemistry - underrated and little-known film, I loved it!

(A bit newer than DD though - early 90s)

MrsPurchase · 19/01/2015 22:04

I've never seen Princess Bride

DaftStudentNurse · 19/01/2015 22:09

Oh curly I loved untamed heart, i remember being really struck by it, but have never heard anyone else mention it.
May I suggest; Steel Magnolias, 9 to 5, and My best friend's wedding. All funny, and emotional and a bit feel good. Proper rainy day films. Xx

nachohousekeeper · 19/01/2015 22:13

The Outsiders. Classic 80s angst!

celestialsquirrels · 19/01/2015 22:20

Oh GAWD untamed heart makes me sob like a baby!

celestialsquirrels · 19/01/2015 22:22

These are all fab suggestions
I chuck in Heathers (to keep the Christian slater thing going) and grosse point blank

cruikshank · 19/01/2015 22:24

Agree that Stand By Me is more than just an 80s film - also has a fab soundtrack.

Suck my fat one, you cheap dime-store hood. Wonderful.

cruikshank · 19/01/2015 22:26

Although if you are just looking for an 80s film, you can't get much better than The Breakfast Club. We watched that film so many times. And every time, we'd have this big discussion about how it's cool because it starts off really funny but then it gets deep and meaningful. What twats we were.

MassaAttack · 19/01/2015 22:27

I think being a twat was pretty much an essential part of growing up in the 80s, cruikshank Grin

soterriblyterriblyheppy · 19/01/2015 22:32

Heathers. An absolute classic.

Legwarmersforboys · 19/01/2015 22:33
