Has to be the most horrible thing I have ever seen. Do not watch if you are easily disturbed!

I had to turn it off!
Plus the fact that it had a baby in didn't help....that was a little close to the mark

Thats the one.

waterfalls · 29/08/2006 12:24

I love anything to do with aliens too, anyone seen The Forgotten?

nailpolish · 29/08/2006 12:25

waterfalls, thats The Others, waht a great film that is, i actually cried when she pulled the curtains again and again

i love films like that, i never ever 'see' what the twist is going to be

dh is boring and says "oh i saw that coming 5 minutes into the film" well, at least he doesnt let on to me, cos i never do!

southeastastra · 29/08/2006 12:25

it's a bit sad that they are remaking alot of classic horror films though, you can't really beat alot of the 70s classics (it all started to go downhill with blinkin nightmare on elm st)

tiredemma · 29/08/2006 12:25

cant stand 'Horror' films, especially ones with extreme violence and brutality in them.

Things like Poltergeist etc use to fascinate me but absolutely terrify me at the same time.

Most disturbing film that i have seen recently would have to be 'Million Dollar baby' - that film made me feel utterly depressed for days.

nailpolish · 29/08/2006 12:26

dont like nightmare on elm street or halloween

have tried and tried to watch them, i always annoy dh by saying "yes ok lets watch it" then "turn it off turn it off!!!" after 2 seconds

waterfalls · 29/08/2006 12:26

Ooooh has anyone seen The Changling? airly old film but pretty scary.

southeastastra · 29/08/2006 12:27

is that the one with the old lady on the stairlift waterfalls?

Saturn74 · 29/08/2006 12:28

Best scary film ever IMO, is 'The Pit and the Pendulum' with Vincent Price. Fantastically scary!

cupcakes · 29/08/2006 12:28

nailpolish - I am exceedingly slow at seeing what dh declares as obvious. I enjoy the twists at the end whilst I think dh enjoys working it out himself.

nailpolish · 29/08/2006 12:28

tiredemma, i havent seen that, whats it about?

nailpolish · 29/08/2006 12:29

cupcakes, i think i would be disappointed if i 'got' the film after 5 minutes

cupcakes · 29/08/2006 12:30

defintely.

waterfalls · 29/08/2006 12:30

southeastastra

No its about a little boy in a wheelchair who was killed by his dad and put down a well, and goes on to haunt the house he died in.

fattiemumma · 29/08/2006 12:30

I love Million Dollar Baby.

it is very disturbing in a very subtle way, Fab.

FoghornLeghorn · 29/08/2006 12:32

Turned Million Dollar Baby off half way through, thoguht it was pants.
Love The Others and films like that - am a complete pansy when it comes to horror or physchological thrillers, have to put a cushion over my face. DH spots the twist virtually instantly every time

southeastastra · 29/08/2006 12:33

oh wow the pit and the pendulum, the masque of the red death, the witchfinder general! vincent price films fab! i could sit here all day thinking about these films. i wonder what film had the lady in the stairlift (worrying me now).

tiredemma · 29/08/2006 12:34

nailpolish- I dont want to give the whole plot away but basically its about a female boxer ( hilary swank), the film is very dark/gritty and hilary swank is out of this world in it. the end is disturbing- not in a graphic way but the whole film is so sad all the way through that the end is just so depressing. Rent it- its the best film that i have seen in years.

nailpolish · 29/08/2006 12:37

really want to see it now

havent seen it cos i CANNOT STAND whatsisname, refuse to watch any of his films

nailpolish · 29/08/2006 12:37

tiredemma · 29/08/2006 12:38

clint eastwood or morgan freeman?

nailpolish · 29/08/2006 12:38

clint eastwood, thanks emma

southeastastra · 29/08/2006 12:39

clint eastwood?

fattiemumma · 29/08/2006 12:39

im not overstrung on Clint Eastwood...mainly becasue i just don't do dodagy 70's westerns but Morgan Freeman is a god.

southeastastra · 29/08/2006 12:40

oh i love him especially in that weird one set in the civil war 'the beguiled' and play misty for me.
