Are we so focused on predatory males in positions of power praying on vulnerable women & girls - that we lose sight of the fact it can happen the other way around.

There is a crime here but women who perform this type of crime are extreme outliers in society. We can not as a society remove focus on sexual violence against women and girls because of what aboutery for a tiny subsection of sexual predation. We can not just simply wash over the fact that sexual crime is very much a male crime and was ever thus.

There was a piece on Facebook where Hertfordshire police were appealing for witnesses for a sexual assault where a woman pinched a man's bottom in a nightclub (picked up on carb or mobile). Police time will now be spent investigating this from an admin point of view and the comments on Facebook ebook would be as you would expect from men. The point is highlighting a woman pinching a male bottom distracts from a much larger societal menace of sexual assault perpetrated by men.

I do not want to belittle the bottom pinching but it is an example where we can distract from violence against women and girls by highlighting what many (Maybe wrongly) are relatively trivial offences and maybe the police searching for the woman for sexual assault may be disproportionate. There are probably thousands of women getting their bottoms pinched every day and worse so I wonder what their attitudes to the police spending time in this is?

We shouldn't belittle 'bottom pinching' weather the suspect is male or female. Its like flashing - its possibly a trigger offence that leads to much more serious ones.

If we go down the route of police just concentrating on rapists - then this teacher gets away with it - as she hasn't raped the school boy. Even-though she tied him to a bed and had sex with him against his consent several times, it won't be considered as rape.

So going by that 'logic' wouldn't it make more sense for the police to hunt serial killers over simple one off murderers, leaving rapists to just roam the streets

Ideally we would hunt anyone who is committing offences, yes. But the police have limited resources, and most rapists get away with their crime. Hence I would prefer them to hunt the more serious offenders and leave a woman pinching bums.

Your point is disingenuous. You cannot - and I clearly was not - comparing murderers and a woman pinching bums.

I think its wrong on both counts - and if the victim wants to make a complaint it should be investigated in the same manner as anything else.

I know I'm going off topic here - but this was one of the issues with the Sarah Everard case. His previous offences were ignored (flashing) as they were seen as less important, and look how that turned out. And the outcry was that it should have been investigated properly at the time.
