Would you vote for anyone stupid enough to….

Would you vote for anyone stupid enough to believe that women can have penises and men can have vaginas which is basically every single bloody politician?
In my opinion anyone who believes that is too thick to run their own nose let alone the country.
There is literally not one politician or political party in this country worth voting for anymore with the possible exception of Suella Braverman who has the simple common sense to understand that this is a small Island nation with very limited resources which are already struggling with overpopulation. However I can’t vote for her so I won’t be voting at all this time round.
Does anyone else here not vote if there isn’t anyone worth voting for according to their beliefs?

Lib Dem leader Ed Davey says a woman can 'quite clearly' have a penis

A caller called Mary asked him on LBC to explain 'what is a woman', saying she was a tactical voter - a group which could help the Lib Dems pick off Tory seats at the next general election.

Are you looking forward to the next election because you have seen the latest predicted results?

Lol, yes! I'd quite happily see the SNP reduced to a marginal party, it's long overdue. The tories are destined for a good chunk of oblivion, I don't trust labour with womens rights but we need a change.

Marginal, but still the 3rd largest in parliament?

Well it's Lib Dem territory so I'm happy with that.

SmartHome · 01/06/2023 17:35

I am not voting for any party that has ever had an identifiable member publicly state TWAW, of course men can have cervixes, women have penises or any of that BS. That is my stance for the next GE unless they publicly come out and state, on the record, that the above is not party policy. I am aware that that means I may have nobody to vote for and if that means abstaining, so be it.

Drosselmeyer · 01/06/2023 17:35

I wouldn't vote for Braverman under any circumstances.

Like many people on here, I fully support the rights of trans people to live their lives as they want, identify how they want, call themselves what they want free from prejudice and harm. I also know that biological sex is real and that there are some circumstances in which it is more important than whether someone feels they have a particular gender identity.

Hate to break it to you but the reason most politicians hold these opposing views from you is because your views are totally bigoted and oppress a marginalised group in society. I'm afraid the next generation will look back at people like you the same way that we look back on the homophobia and racism from the 20th century.

Or, the next generation will be pleased to see that someone was standing up for biology, material reality, and the maintenance of single sex spaces for vulnerable women and children - public lavatories, changing rooms, hospitals and prisons in particular.

TribeD · 05/06/2023 18:48

To say that someone with a penis can't be a woman is totally bigoted and oppressive because there are plenty of trans women who haven't been able to have surgery and therefore still have a penis, but are a woman in every other way.

Tell me...what is this "every other way"?

Please explain what it is that makes me (and every other natal woman) a woman? Because, as far as I know, there is only one way to be a biological woman, and that is to be born one.

bigbabycooker · 05/06/2023 19:58

Yes, I'd love to hear what being a woman "in every other way" means. Is it in the same sense that I could claim to know what it is like to identify as or really belong to a different age or sex or culture based on my personal interests? Or is it because I could believe that I AM a person of that different age/sex/culture who has had the misfortune of being born otherwise?

Florissant · 06/06/2023 07:16

Adding my voice to ask how a person with a penis, testicles and prostate gland are like women in "every other way" except biology.

Please do explain; I want to hear.

DollyTrolly · 06/06/2023 07:51

No, just no.

I fully support people dressing how they like, identifying as any gender they like and I'll happily use preferred pronouns.
But you cannot change your biological sex. You are not a women just because you say are.

I'm fed up of listening to men telling us what a woman is and what it feels like to be a women because they have no fucking clue.

It is not oppressive or bigoted to want to safeguard women and protect women's hard won rights.

KnittedCardi · 07/06/2023 12:35

but are a woman in every other way

No, they really aren't. Back to the primary question of what defines a woman.

MargotBamborough · 07/06/2023 12:39

There is no other way of being a woman (other than being biologically female).

If there were, these chumps would be able to explain what it is without making utter fools of themselves.

Oh right sorry I forgot that the trans community are actually not marginalised at all, in fact it's the other 99% of the population who are suffering at the hands of the trans elite. I mean come on, the fact that people spend some much time and effort bemoaning the very existence of a tiny group in society means that they are of course marginalised.

No one here bemoans the existence of trans people. If you want to discuss, it’s a basic requisite that you actually do so honestly, based on what we say.

People have the right to be and present as they wish, and feminists are against sex based stereotypes so support gender non-confirming presentation.

We don’t segregate in our society except in specific circumstances for specific reasons. We understand, for example, that people from specific ethnic communities may want services and groups targeted exclusively at them, and these are funded accordingly from public money.

We have sex segregated services where women are at risk of sexual voyeurism, intimidation, or assault, or survivors may be traumatized by a male presence, or where, as in sports, women are unfairly disadvantaged ( it’s sex that effects performance, not internal gender identity).

Unless you can show, as a minimum, that men who identify as women present the same risk as women, and that no male predator or voyeur will use this loophole, and that make bodies have no physical advantage over females, then the case for this sex based safeguarding and sports remains in tact.

MovinGroovinBarbie · 07/06/2023 16:04

Such a shame there isn't a whole separate section on here for these topics.

Fairislefandango · 07/06/2023 16:07

No. I will not vote for any party which says TWAW. And I won't vote Tory. So I guess I'll be spoiling my ballot paper.

Toseland · 09/06/2023 18:51

14:22 Either they truly believe it - which makes them dim and lacking in critical thinking skills.....
Or they don't actually believe it but say it anyway which makes them liars.
I don't know which one is more infuriating/depressing.

Or they are taking huge donations from pharmaceutical companies and are pushing the required agendas at the expense of women & children.
