Nothing to add to all the advice - solicitor, solicitor, solicitor! Just wanted to say and on your behalf, essbee.

the best people to talk about, about, DLA are social services, your HV, or just look in the front of your local phone book/yewllow pages and ring them up. CAB will help you fill out the forms

get going woman!

KICK ASS, ESSBEE!

wobblyknicks · 24/06/2005 22:40

Really sorry to read all this essbee. But arsey cannot do whatever he likes, whether he thinks so or not. You ARE entitled to your share and a good life, regardless of him. And you WILL get through it and end up far better off than you are now, I'm 100% sure of it.

Essbee - this is the saying that has always had an bearing on my life and it's various ups and downs

"When Life Is At It's Darkest, the BEST is yet to come".

Go Girl - you can beat that AR**.

Essbee, your ex is a bully, and is talking out of his a**e. don't let him intimidate you. He can't just decide what he will or will not give you, let the courts decide that.

katierocket · 25/06/2005 09:08

thinking of you essbee, and getting angry on your behalf. I'm sending the F*wit angry vibes

and you nice vibes

anorak · 25/06/2005 09:23

Just want to add, essbee, that mediation isn't legal or binding and only exists to help you come to an agreement that might save the court expensive time. No one has to abide by what is decided in mediation unless it subsequently gets agreed legally. These advisors in mediation are usually bored old ladies who just try to smooth things over between you - they're not lawyers at all.

I have read all this thread but I will be going through a divorce and from what I have read there are similar circs. read this and let me know.
My solicitor says the house will be transferred into my name and if I sell i might have to pay him a small %age but the kids have a right to a roof over there heads so if the worst comes to the worst, ask the council to pay your rent when you move. Good Luck Essbee xxxxxxxxxxxx

Rainbow · 25/06/2005 18:09

And keep smiling you'll be surprised at the difference it makes

tigermoth · 25/06/2005 18:22

essbee, he's trying to frighten you, you know it really.

He's caught you at a vulnerable time with your solicitor and family away (did he time this attack knowing that?) Aloha's advice is fab - keep reading it!

Titania · 25/06/2005 18:24

nothing constructive to say. just wanted to let you know im thinking of you and i hope you work it out x

spacecadet · 25/06/2005 20:09

hiya, re what i said on the phone, i think aloha put it very well, as i said you see your solicitor as soon as she/he returns from hoiday and tell them that he is threatening to hide hissavings, get any assets he has frozen, his money is half yours im afraid and as aloha says that goes for his pension too, he cannot throw you out of the house as you are the main carer and have residency of the children, he cannot just take his name off the mortgage, you could if you wanted screw this £$^&& for everything he has, and he knows it and is trying to frighten you, sod mediation, go for what you are owed.

melsy · 25/06/2005 20:33

Im sorry essbee you have to go through all this with everything else.I dont have any practical advice but I feel youll come out a real fighting spirit when the rough seas calm down and it wont be angry fighter it will be confident, strong and independant. Sorry I havent been around much to chat , I am always thinking of you. xx

fisil · 25/06/2005 20:45

Essbee - sorry, didn't see this before we were chatting this am. Why does it just get worse and worse? Big virtual hugs. I haven't any advice, except that xdh is a b* and I hope that when you spit on him, make sure that it is full-on greeny-loaded flem!
