Where are your children?

Are you able to just chat on here for a while? Pick a subject. State of Snowmen in your street?

LadyOfWaffle · 05/02/2009 18:43

It's ok NAB, just stick on here, we'll get you through x

LadyOfWaffle · 05/02/2009 18:45

Milliways · 05/02/2009 18:46

NAB?
We're ready to listen here.

piratecat · 05/02/2009 18:46

hi nab, i had a panic attack a while back and immediately came on here.

Can you find a paper bag? It will help to breathe. You are hyperventilating.

If you can find one scrunch up the open end and breathe steadily in and out of it.

If youcan't, grap some wrapping paper and do a makeshift one.

Panic attacks, i find, really do happen for a reason, and you might get the pent up feeligns out by having this feeling.

JackBauer · 05/02/2009 18:46

Hey NAB, keep posting ok? We will distract you.
panic attacks always feel horrible, genuinely terrifying but just rememebr that it is not dangerous you will start to feel a bit better soon.
How's the breathing?

NAB09 · 05/02/2009 18:48

just put kids to bed

dh just rang to say he is leaving work now.

he doesn't sound very happy.

Can you lie down? Do you feel anxious?

JackBauer · 05/02/2009 18:54

What's happened? DO you want to talk about it?

Coldtits · 05/02/2009 18:55

Right head under duvet sweetheart

Doozle · 05/02/2009 18:56

Just tell yourself it's the panic talking, it's making you breathe more quickly that's all. It is self-limiting, nothing terrible will happen.

NAB09 · 05/02/2009 18:56

i can't

I found counting helped. Tiles, keys on keyboard, something there are a few of, count slowly.

JackBauer · 05/02/2009 19:00

That's just because you aren't breathing right. It's ok. If you need to call samaritans 08457 90 90 90
They are very good at talking people down from attacks

Milliways · 05/02/2009 19:01

Breathe deeply, In through the nose, Out through the mouth, for a count of 5 each way.

NAB09 · 05/02/2009 19:02

i can't remember how to breathw

JackBauer · 05/02/2009 19:03

I have to go for a few minutes.
keep posting, people are here for you, if you have a phone call the samaritans, just so they can help you breathe. Once your breathing is better then you will start to feel less scared.

JackBauer · 05/02/2009 19:04

What milliways said too, in through nose, out through mouth.
Don't worry if it is hard to start with and you don't manage a whole count, just keep going

Milliways · 05/02/2009 19:06

How long does it normally take your DH to get home?

NAB09 · 05/02/2009 19:06

i can't stop crying

If you can type Ok it's probably on its way out. Look at yourself, you are still there. It's going to be Ok in a minute.

NAB09 · 05/02/2009 19:06
