If I turn up at A&E tomorrow and say I'm suicidal can they deliver my baby because I don't want to harm him will they take my son away?

Hi there, I just saw your last post. I'm so glad you have been able to get help tonight. I hope you are feeling a bit less terrible now. You should be proud of how well you have done tonight, taking sensible steps to protecting yourself and your children.

teezletangler · 23/02/2022 05:20

So glad you are feeling a bit more positive. All the best for the rest of your pregnancy.

OvertheRainbow2U · 23/02/2022 06:15

You did the right thing OP which must have been very frightening for you. Hope you got some sleep eventually. Wishing you the best of luck x

TabithaTittlemouse · 23/02/2022 07:18

I’m glad it went well op. Hope you managed to get some rest.

Sunbird24 · 23/02/2022 07:33

So glad you recognised you needed help and were able to ask for it, and that you’ve had a really good response. Flowers You sound like a great mum doing the best for both her babies.

Eloisedublin123 · 23/02/2022 08:01

So glad you feel more positive that’s fantastic!

bluejelly · 23/02/2022 08:18

I'm so very glad you got help, and sounds like you've found a loveIy psychiatrist Smile

playsuit56 · 23/02/2022 09:37

Thanks again guys, really appreciate the love and care you lovely people have shown me.

Yeah I was definitely lucky in getting a really good physiatrist to speak too and so quickly too. I've never actually heard of the perinatal mental health team but again it sounds positive and it sounds like just the help I'll need.

I've turned up at my mum's house this morning and told her everything. She's so sad and can't believe she never knew I was feeling like this. She's insisting that DD and I move in with her for however long I need. I'll be going on Sunday so that's a massive help and will hopefully take a bit of pressure off of me. I also have a teenage sister who loves spending time with her niece so hopefully all goes well.

Can't thank everyone enough. I feel happy knowing I'm doing what I can to try and protect my babies and do what's best for them and myself

Oh OP I could cry reading your updates - in a good way! You were so brave to go and I'm so pleased it was really helpful. Brilliant ⭐️

CandlesBlanketsandTea · 23/02/2022 10:02

OP I'm so pleased that you were brave enough to get help, sounds like you are going to get the right type of support and you'll start feeling better soon. This whole thread shows the power that just a few words can have on someone. The true power of Mumsnet coming together for a stranger, it's brought a tear to my eye.

VodselForDinner · 23/02/2022 10:07

Delighted to read your updates.

Spending time at your mum’s sounds like a great plan, definitely hand DD over to your sister as much as possible- they’ll have great fun together.

badlydrawnbear · 23/02/2022 13:31

I just read your thread, and I am so impressed with you for having the strength to go to A&E and ask for help. That must have been really hard, but you did it. I am really pleased that you now have support from your family and medical professionals, and I wish you all the best for the rest of your pregnancy. Both your babies are lucky to have such a strong mum who fought to be with them and do the best for them.

Tashalady91 · 23/02/2022 19:36

@playsuit56 I am so relieved reading your updates. You've made great steps in less than 24 hours and I want to wish you all the best! You've got this girl, keep being amazing xx

NeverChange · 23/02/2022 19:45

I love your update. I'm sure you are and will continue to be a fantastic mum.

You did exactly what you needed to do at the right time. Very best of luck to you. I'm sure with the right help and support, things will be one easier over time.

TabithaTittlemouse · 23/02/2022 23:36

Great update! I used to work with a perinatal team, it’s a good service.

youvegottenminuteslynn · 23/02/2022 23:57

How did today go OP? Have been sending you positive thoughts Thanks

playsuit56 · 24/02/2022 14:20

Seriously cannot thank you guys enough for all the heartwarming comments. I can't believe a thread on an anonymous forum pushed me to get the help I needed.

I've been okay thank you. I was struggling a bit yesterday but I've kept on communicating with my mum so DD and I are going to move in with her today instead of waiting until Sunday. I think the stress has just been unbearable as I'm now a single parent and will have 2 under 2. Life's just gone downhill so drastically and it'll randomly hit me. It'll be good to be around my mum and sister and they're always there to be hands on and help out which is what I need.

I also have an appointment next week to book a date in for my C Section which should hopefully help me with some anxiety I've been facing. I'm constantly worrying about the future so it'll be good to have something set in stone.

Thanks again guys, I hope everyone has been okay💗

So pleased for you Flowers Keep on talking, we’re all on your side and you have so much to live for
Eloisedublin123 · 24/02/2022 22:41

Well done op keep telling us your news 💖

PonyPatter44 · 25/02/2022 07:38

I'm so pleased to hear this - you sound in a much better place. Do lean on your mum and sister, they want to help. When is your c-section booked for? How do you feel about it?

playsuit56 · 25/02/2022 17:19

Well that was short lived haha. So I'll be back home with DD tomorrow as it just isn't going to work out with my mum. I started another thread but didn't realise my name wasn't the same. For anyone interested in the situation I'll link it below.
