I'm going to have a MHA assessment in the next few days. How likely is it that I'll end up in hospital? My CPN said they'd used her views into account, when I said I'm tell them I'm doing ok.

Good luck

Just try to be honest and consider what you will agree to eg supervised medication and crisis visits at home or informal admission. If you agree to a reasonable plan that contains the risk then it's very hard to argue you should be detained. Obviously you should not lie and say you agree to something that you don't though.

Thanks. My care coord is going to be there, so it will be hard to deny having said some things.

Good luck SnowyMouse. I'm glad your care coordinator will be there - hopefully that's someone you know has your interests in mind.

Again be as honest as you can and remember they want to help x

Thanks, I'm not sure if she does, she's keen on hospital. I'll try to remember that.

Hi Snowy. Hope you're okay. Do you know your way around? Have you got soemthing you can do?

SnowyMouse · 23/03/2021 22:00

Covid means I’m restricted to my room for 10 days

Hi Snowy, it's so hard being a new inpatient in mental health, particularly during Covid. Try and get some sleep tonight and ask in the morning whether OT have put together activities that can be done in your room to keep you occupied. I hope you start to feel better soon.

CovoidOfAllHumanity · 23/03/2021 23:19

Informal or detained?

10 days is a long isolation. Ours is 7
as a compromise if you have 2 negative swabs Can you get out any earlier if you have negative swabs?

I know it's not what you wanted but I hope it does help you after all.

You'll know that you do have a right of appeal with free representation if you still feel you should not have been detained and staff should help you with that and refer you to the IMHA (independent advocate) if you want to.

Aw bless you. It's not your fault and it doesn't mean that there is something wrong with you. You're just a little bit broken that's all. You have your phone, so idle your time away online with whatever.
There are very few women that I know who have not had mental health issues at some point after having children. Almost every woman has had the baby blues, so that's a way for them to understand unusual feelings. I hope you feel good in the morning and that you're running out those doors soon!

I love Tiktok. It's just an app of stupid short videos.

Oh gosh forgot about covid (!!!) All my experience was pre covid.

Have you got some stuff from home with you/change of clothes etc? Hope the OT has some bits and pieces you can do. I like games on my phone at times.

Hope you can get some sleep. Xx

SnowyMouse · 24/03/2021 09:29

I’m sectioned. I’m really tired right now.

Hi OP. The ten days seems very difficult. Hope you've got things to do to occupy you.

I'm currently sectioned too (section 3) so know somewhat how you feel.

UpOnDown · 24/03/2021 19:34

I was wrong it’s 14 days. Sorry you’re sectioned too.
