I hope no-one minds me starting a follow up thread. I know some people were waiting for me to update so I thought I would but happy to ask MNHQ to delete if one of the long term posters wanted to start it 😊

After all that, my GP has referred me to the wrong department....
Urgent referral now been put in for ENT

tmh88 · 02/03/2021 15:52

Oh you are joking?! @ofwarren so have you not been seen today?

ofwarren · 02/03/2021 15:56

@tmh88 the consultant looked in my mouth but said it isn't his specialty so he will have to refer me on 😔
I'm having an extraction with him in few weeks so he gave me a prescription for a drug to make my blood clot for when I have it done, so not totally wasted journey but annoying all the same.

tmh88 · 02/03/2021 16:26

@ofwarren I’m so sorry to hear that! I have everything crossed your next appointment comes soon! I know how awful it is getting ready to go and then it not happening! Have a glass of wine and stick something funny on the tele ❤️

MarthasGinYard · 02/03/2021 16:52

Glad I've found you all.

Bloating of top of abdo still the same. Right side still appears biggerSad

Blood tests from yesterday are back and crp protein markers are down from 25 to 7.5 but I think that's still slightly raised.

I have to stop googling

MarthasGinYard · 02/03/2021 16:54

Polka dot

So pleased you have some reassurance, great news.

MarthasGinYard · 02/03/2021 16:58

Of Warren

Hope all goes ok thinking of you both

MarthasGinYard · 02/03/2021 17:01

Mrs W

I ended up at Dr's with the mispronunciation and forgetting what simple things were called. It was getting out of hand. It's definitely worse when stressed.

tmh88 · 02/03/2021 17:19

@MarthasGinYard googling is my worst enemy too! I quite often get bloated etc I have done since I had DS it can be daily and then sometimes weeks in between I don’t think I went back to normal inside after having him! Have you had children?x

MrsWhites · 02/03/2021 17:26

@MarthasGinYard was your doctor concerned when you went about mispronunciation?

Definitely don’t google! It can surely only be a good thing that the blood marker is down so much, even if it is still slightly raised?

3boyshere · 02/03/2021 17:54

I am very worried at the moment and wondered if any of you lovely ladies had come across anything similar. I noticed what I thought was a pile inside my back passage (tmi) I could actually pinch it with two fingers then it would pop back. I was so concerned I paid to see a private consultant last night. He informed me that he did not deal with this type of thing and would refer me to a colleague. He said it is probably nothing (polyp or a skin tag) but he cannot be sure and just leave it if my mental health can deal with it. I am going to see someone on Saturday but I am very scared

StooriMidori · 02/03/2021 18:07

Thanks for the tag @MrsWhites I was looking for the thread, glad I found you.

@tmh88 I am the same re my period. I think I may have PMDD so am tracking my moods and symptoms as during and after my period they all disappear as does my anxiety! @Lolly12 I'm the exact same, it's because my boobs get so sore I get all anxious then Aunt Flo comes along and all is grand for a week. Then I'm back to worrying about my impending death!

@RunawayBride2 and @polkadotpixie I take propranolol which is brilliant for the physical symptoms. I would recommend it if you struggle with that horrible fear or dread feeling in your chest or racing heart/ palpitations.

3boyshere · 02/03/2021 18:18

@RunawayBride2 @polkadotpixie
I take 225 my of venlafaxine daily and gave fine for many years. They have literally saved my life xx

MarthasGinYard · 02/03/2021 18:49

@tmh88
Grin
I have made a pact with myself to 'STOP the Google' it ruined last weekend and couldn't sleep a wink.

The bloating is so high up I'm the strangest shape. It's been there so long. I do have a dc but not recently. Although being peri menopausal doesn't help I'm sure.

MarthasGinYard · 02/03/2021 19:28

@MrsWhites

I was mispronouncing words, holding things in my hands etc giving Dd her pencil case and saying 'here's your water bottle' not remembering the simplest things.

I mentioned it to Dr who did some little memory test thingy where she asked me questions. They were simple things such as simple counting, remembering simple addresses dates etc.

My score was slightly lower than it should have been. Bless my lovely Dr she referred me to a memory specialist nurse who did a more in-depth test which I passed fine. She could see how worried I was though, and actually referred me for a brain scan to put my mind at rest!!

My DM had just had Alzheimer's diagnoses and I was extremely stressed.

I can honestly say after I knew all was ok it got 90 percent better within weeks.

I never now underestimate the endless bounds which anxiety can bring.

I hope it gives you some reassurance.

MarthasGinYard · 02/03/2021 19:33

Ps yes I agree re markers. I saw my Dr this evening and she said markers wouldn't likely be coming down if it was anything sinister. The other marker is completely normal too apparently. She is great she examined my abdo again and I told her about all the lumpy bits I can feel which she felt and said all normal.

Just fat I think

Squibble84 · 02/03/2021 19:53

I thought the other thread had gone quiet - there’s a lot to catch up on here!

@polkadotpixie I don’t know the whole picture being a late arrival but on the whole, it sounds like you’ve had some reassurance!

@ofwarren sounds like you were messed around a bit today - hope you’re ok!

@3boyshere I’ve had lots of experience with things not being quite right with my back passage! Two surgeries for an ongoing anal fissure, plus a surgery to remove piles and skin tags. If you don’t have pain or bleeding, it’s probably just a skin tag which is easily removed. When mine was at its worst, it felt like I was trying to pass out razor blades so if it’s not painful that’s probably a good sign!

I have a harmony test tomorrow at the hospital to rule out the baby having a trisomy such as Down syndrome. It’s 99% accurate at diagnosing them so I’ll hopefully get the all clear but having had and lost a baby with trisomy 13, I’m obviously thinking the worst and how I’ll cope if it’s bad news!

I’ve also booked to see a consultant about my missed smear test which is costing £150 but I’ll pay it if it gives me some peace of mind!

I hope everyone is well this evening! Xx

Skyliner001 · 02/03/2021 19:54

I hope this isn't a rude question and feel free not to answer I just wondered what ave you were when you started with HA. I'm 39 now but got it really badly at 27 until 30 then started again last year! Wondering if it gets worse or better the older you get?

ofwarren · 02/03/2021 19:56

@skyliner001 I was 35 and that was 6 years ago. I'd had "normal" anxiety before that though.

Squibble84 · 02/03/2021 19:59

@Skyliner001 I’ve had it since I was a teenager but I’ve had general anxiety since much younger. I remember sitting at my childminders after school, watching the door avidly from 5pm waiting for my mum to arrive and if she was a few minutes late, I’d be panicking that she’d been in a car accident on the way to me or something bad had happened!

With my HA, I don’t think it’s gotten worse with age, it’s always peaked and troughed, I have good months and bad months. I remember when I was about 20 spending about a year terrified I had aids! 🤷‍♀️

3boyshere · 02/03/2021 20:01

@Squibble84 thank you for your reply can I ask you did anyone ever mention polyps as I am convinced this is a skin tag not a polyp (I read that a percentage of polyps can become nasty. It is actually inside my bottom
I hope all goes well for you tomorrow it can be such a worrying time. My thoughts will be with you xx

WitchSharkadder · 02/03/2021 20:05

@Skyliner001 I was also 27 when mine started. Got to grips with it for a while then had a massive bump in 2016/17. Things calmed down again but I've been really struggling since last August.

tmh88 · 02/03/2021 20:05

I’ve had generally anxiety pretty much all my life! Only started with health last September! I genuinely miss my old anxiety, I absolutely hate health anxiety I have really never experienced anything like it!

3boyshere · 02/03/2021 20:06

I developed anxiety aged 26. I am now 57 and have had it most of my life. It is awful at the moment due to my lovely MIL being given a terminal diagnosis me retiring early and struggling with the lockdown x

RunawayBride2 · 02/03/2021 20:08

@Squibble84
Gosh I remember that about it my mum wasn't picking me up on time I would have awful thoughts that something bad had happened. I still have it now if she doesn't answer her phone or if I'm in bed at night and hear an ambulance go past I panic as parents live down the road from me.

I've had anxiety pretty much all my life from I can remember but now this past year at 37 my health anxiety has just spiralled, I don't know if the pandemic has something to do with it.
