I hope no-one minds me starting a follow up thread. I know some people were waiting for me to update so I thought I would but happy to ask MNHQ to delete if one of the long term posters wanted to start it 😊

@Nogodsnomasters I'm the same! My wee one came home from nursery with a cold and the snot is tripping him, but I'm in panic mode. I'm not vaccinated yet and am so stressed about catching covid. I had a test when I was pregnant and it did make me gag but it wasn't as bad as I thought.

@Skyliner001 I definitely get the stabbing pains, sharp pain, burning pain - you name it, I get it!

Since my boob scans came back clear, I'm still in stressing about everyone else mode. My DH is all good but now my DF has had a call back from his Doc so I'm panicking about that. I'll speak to him soon to see what's what but he's quite private so he won't give me the shit tons of intricate detail I will need to reassure myself! Of course I'm envisioning a terminal illness and impending death.

The suns out here so that is lifting my mood. I hope you all have a good, poke free weekend xxxx

Goolies · 19/03/2021 17:45

@Skyliner001 yep I get sharp pains too, also mainly in the left but can be both! And not always around my period, random times in the month too.

Skyliner001 · 19/03/2021 17:55

Thank you so much to all of you for your feedback on breasts. As always I am going into a new Pope, no Google weekend… Wish me luck, and see you on the other side!

Nogodsnomasters · 19/03/2021 20:04
@Nogodsnomasters you could just do the covid test by putting the swab in your nose not down your throat if you think you need one.
All the ones I've heard of involve both nose and throat needed, my husband did a home kit of one and my dad did one at a drive through and both had to do nose and throat 🙈 I'm definitely sick, I'm absolutely miserable right now. Heads pounding, throat so scratchy and irritated, one nostril blocked, so tired.

I hope your little one is doing ok? I'm the same with my son as I am with myself, the slightest symptom and in my head he's already dead and buried, I'm making light of it but it's awful as we all know.

StooriMelon · 19/03/2021 21:40

Well, to update, DF is ok. His BP is high but otherwise good. But....... we've all just had a family outing to the covid test centre! I swear you couldn't make it up, it's one thing after another.

I noticed DC2 coughing more frequently tonight and DH said he's been coughing all day while I was working so definitely met the criteria for a test. The rest of us got tested as in the same household. Booked it at half 6 and was done by half 7. It can take up to two days for the results but should be back tomorrow. I hate the waiting so hope it's quick as we were the only car there. I'm really nervous as I'm the only non vaxxed adult in my bubble now so of course I have myself dead and buried in my head 😞

@Nogodsnomasters the tests themselves were fine. I've had one before so knew it wasn't too bad. DC1 was nervous and a little upset but the guidelines for children is nose OR mouth. We did mouth with both. The eldest had some amateur dramatics but was fine once it was done. The baby gagged but otherwise didn't bat an eye. I suppose you could do just your nose as long as it was thorough? If it would help reassure you it might be worth it? xx

StooriMelon · 19/03/2021 21:42

Thanks also for the well wishes @Nogodsnomasters
I also worry about the wee ones too. I understand that feeling xx

KasparKat · 19/03/2021 21:55

@StooriMelon hope you get the results back soon.

I'm panicking tonight about sinus pressure. I have had it for 4 months now and it's getting worse rather than better. The weird thing is that I have absolutely no congestion, runny nose or sneezing any more. I did have mucus for around 2/3 months and it got better very very slowly. But for the last month I haven't had any mucus and it's just a constant pressure on the bridge of my noise and occasional dizziness. The GP wouldn't discuss it until I see him at a face to face appointment in 2 weeks time. I hate all the waiting, it's so stressful. I'm thinking that I must have a tumour or growth or something that's causing pressure but no congestion 🙄

Hi all. Hope you’re doing okay, I haven’t posted since thread 2 but read through everyone’s updates. It’s nice just to know you’re not alone! Despite my relentless anxiety, I don’t actually have any diagnosed health conditions, but today received an invite for a vaccine. I’m only in my mid 20s so it isn’t based on age. I phoned my GP and all they could tell me was it was due to increased vulnerability due to an underlying health condition. Now I know this is entirely irrational, but my mind is in overdrive questioning what condition I have that they have forgotten to tell me about!! I just wondered if anyone else has received an invite and if it could possibly be based on anxiety? My GP has been dismissive all along so I see a private therapist and so it seems unlikely but thought it would put my mind at rest if anyone was in the same boat. Thanks all.

KAP232 · 20/03/2021 06:35

@Nogodsnomasters I test twice a week due to my job and I only swab my nose! Also when we had covid and get my children we only swapped the inside of my daughter cheek as she couldn't deal with it in the throat and she still come back positive so I would so don't worry and just do what you can.

That's good to know that if I need to I can just do the nose despite the instructions on the packet, thank you. I don't have a cough or loss of taste/smell, haven't took my temperature yet as I'm actually scared to know. I just have blocked up nose, mucus, sore head, tiredness.

StooriMelon · 20/03/2021 08:22

Just got the results and we're all negative.

@KasparKat sending good vibes. I've had chronic sinusitis for about 15 years and I very rarely get mucus. I'm having a bout now for the first time in a couple of years. My glasses make it worse. When it gets really bad the only thing that really works is steroid drops. I find the sudafed nasal spray in the blue bottle helps if I'm congested but not if it's just painful. Have you tried antihistamines? I take a cetirizine once a day which helps too, just the tesco own version.

StooriMelon · 20/03/2021 08:32

@Ashmarie my DH got a 'surprise' vaccine invite and the only thing we can think of is his weight. I've also heard of women with history of gestational diabetes getting invited but obviously that's hearsay so not sure whether this is true. Of all the millions of people getting invited there's bound to be an error margin too so I wouldn't question it, I'd be running to the vaccine centre! I'm jealous as I'm desperate for mine :)

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 20/03/2021 09:04

@Nogodsnomasters you should definitely do a test. I saw a doctor on tv saying that if you have upper respiratory symptoms it's reasonable to do a test for covid.

Hugh anxiety here 😕 Looks like my period might be starting - periods are a source of HA for me. So the next week will be a great source of stress as to whether it's normal or not. 😖

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 20/03/2021 09:05

@StooriMelon hope everyone is ok xx

MrsWhites · 20/03/2021 09:49

Morning everyone. Hope you are all doing ok.

As usual I’m having a little bit of Saturday morning boob anxiety, they have started hurting this morning - stabby/aching pain in left one but reminding myself that I usually get pain between 11-9 days before my period which is today. Had a little check but I’m determined to not do anymore and to have a good weekend.

KasparKat · 20/03/2021 10:38

@StooriMelon do you get sinus pressure on the bridge of your nose? That's where I'm getting mine. It's such a strong feeling of pressure but no congestion. Very odd.

@MrsWhites well done for not checking. Would it help to schedule a time to check eg when your period has finished and then every time you want to check you tell yourself that you will check on that date, not today.

cripez · 20/03/2021 11:03

Happy Saturday, folks. I woke up with agonising leg cramp at 5am and woke my kids up yelling. I also have swollen lymph nodes and a sore throat. Happy bloody Saturday indeed.

MrsWhites · 20/03/2021 11:09

@KasparKat once I’ve checked I try and tell myself that I don’t need to check until the following month but then something always comes up like a pain or something which makes me think maybe something has changed so then the checks start again.

Ashmarie · 20/03/2021 11:09

@StooriMelon thanks for the reassurance. It isn’t weight or gestational diabetes (I’ve read that too!) but I’m just going to try and put it out my mind, consider it an error and go and get the vaccine (apparently it’s a whole lot of admin and more hassle than it’s worth to be re-invited at a later date). It’s just the way our brains work, hearing the words underlying health condition had me in a panic! Have a good Saturday all.

GransKitchen · 20/03/2021 11:28

Morning everyone, I've not posted on here for ages. Just this week my anxiety seems to be spiralling. I keep getting a sharp headache on the back of my head. I'm thinking it could be stress as I've been back at work but then I've googled and I'm scared. Hope everyone else is doing okay

Goolies · 20/03/2021 11:34

Hey @granskitchen, trust me it will be stress related. I get headaches often and when I’m in a spiral will start thinking all sorts but I’ve suffered with them for as long as I can remember.

Have you tried pain relief?

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. I had a poke this morning as I finished my period a few days ago and have to leave them alone now!! Going to try and keep as busy and as distracted as I can. X

KasparKat · 20/03/2021 11:35

I've just panicked myself by shining a torch up my nose. Can't see anything on the right side but on the left side it looks as though the middle part of my nose is bulging out a bit and it's red. Argh. Now I think I have a tumour in my nose!

KasparKat · 20/03/2021 11:43

@GransKitchen can you get anyone to give you a neck/shoulder massage? My headaches are always related to tension and a lot of it gets referred into the back of the neck/head.

AJ297 · 20/03/2021 11:43

@KasparKat Could it be a deviated septum? It's quite normal, and it's to do with the inside of your nose being off to one side. It can also cause congestion x
