I hope no-one minds me starting a follow up thread. I know some people were waiting for me to update so I thought I would but happy to ask MNHQ to delete if one of the long term posters wanted to start it 😊

@Goolies could it be from the bra you’re wearing or how you slept! I thought I had similar the other day but it must have been creases from sleep as it was gone by the evening

polkadotpixie · 17/03/2021 16:58

@katiemumma20 You can get private blood tests through Nuffield if you have one locally. They're fairly reasonable but not super cheap

@katiemumma20 no it’s been there over a year I didn’t worry about it as it can be straightened out but I don’t know why it’s stressing me badly all of a sudden

sunnysideup05 · 17/03/2021 17:19

Hi everyone - I've been following this thread for a while, although too anxious to post myself. But here goes. Like all of you, I have horrendous, debilitating health anxiety. It's focused on me, and my youngest DD, aged 5. We've both had things wrong with us since she was a baby - nothing too serious but on-going things that need to be monitored. Enough to trigger horrid anxiety though. My DD is a healthy, lively, clever little thing yet I've convinced myself she has every horrific condition under the sun. as for me, today alone I've diagnosed myself with two different types of cancer. One because I found, what I think is a tiny soft lump at the back of my knee, the other because I started worrying that one of ribs (front, near the top), sticks out a bit more than the others - it's been like that for years but today I've realised it must be bone cancer.

Has anyone ever considered having one of those MRI, full body MOT health check things to rule everything out and get on with thier lives? I'm almost at the point where I'd consider blowing my savings on one! But the thought of it also terrifies me! what would they find?!

cripez · 17/03/2021 17:24

@katiemumma20

Hope everyone is well! I wondered does anyone know how I could go about getting a private blood test for vitamin deficiency? I’ve convinced myself I have a vitamin b deficiency and i want to be tested. I wanted to ask on here as I’m not sure other people would understand the anxiety I have around calling my GP about this. I’ve had several GP appointments this year and I can’t face calling them again! Obviously if the private cost is extortionate I’ll have to.
Have you looked at Thriva online?
katiemumma20 · 17/03/2021 17:54

@cripez no would you recommend?

AJ297 · 17/03/2021 18:23

@Skyliner001 thank you so much, is it in a place that's easy to feel? Or do you have to move in a certain way to feel it? Is it resting on top of the collar bone?

@sunnysideup05 I have lots of lumps at the back of my knee. Is it when you feel against the bones at the sides of the back?

MrsWhites · 17/03/2021 20:50

@Goolies if the crease has been there a year it doesn’t sound like anything serious. I mean this nicely, hope you don’t take offence but could it be slightly sagging tissue? Mine are definitely more wrinkly in recent years!

Had my eye test, it went well. Very stressful trying to pick new glasses when you have to wear a mask and have to juggle a tray to put any tried on glasses in as well as bag/phone etc. I don’t do very well with masks anyway, I get very panicked and hot and bothered so not a particularly enjoyable experience!

Goolies · 17/03/2021 21:45

@MrsWhites thank you for your response and no offence taken at all I hope you’re right! lol. My breasts have changed a lot and ached breastfeeding for 16 months they can definitely be described as sagging lol.

Logically I think you’re right but you know how it is with anxiety, it keeps sitting there on my shoulder saying ‘what if’ it’s so so exhausting

MrsWhites · 18/03/2021 08:10

@Goolies I know exactly what you mean, it’s like a little voice telling you that you are missing something isn’t it. We all know that voice is anxiety but actually accepting that is another thing, it’s almost like too big a risk to accept that.

Good morning to everyone else too, let’s hope for a good day!

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 18/03/2021 08:49

Morning! Doing okish here. Spent yesterday quite anxious about baby as I though she felt a little warm and slept more during the day than usual - despite knowing this was most probably due to her vaccinations it still made me feel exceptionally anxious. God help me when she actually has her first illness!! Wishing everyone a good day with no poking for the pokers and googling for the googlers!! Xxx

Skyliner001 · 18/03/2021 09:43

@AJ297 The length nodes are above and below the collarbone, so you can feel them underneath the collarbone just above the breasts, and above the collarbone if they are swollen. When I had lymphoma you did not have to dig for them at all, I imagine if you had to dig for them then they wouldn't be a problem! I definitely didn't have to move a certain way. They are not over the collarbone though.

cripez · 18/03/2021 10:31

Morning all. In a bad way over here, eyes just full of tears all day. I had an email from DS' teacher and panicked, completely took it out context and sent me into a spiral. All cleared up now but I feel a fool. Have decided to put DD with her childminder for an extra day tomorrow to try and have a bit of a break.

AJ297 · 18/03/2021 11:23

@Skyliner001 thank you! For some reason I thought they were behind the collarbone so been digging in to feel. No wonder I'm feeling bumps 😂

Skyliner001 · 18/03/2021 12:28

Just a quick one ladies, does anybody ever experienced a sharp stabbing pain in the breast? Not necessarily related to periods, I got a sharp pain in my breast yesterday overnight when I was suffering from insomnia, and I'm trying not to go into a spiral. Lots of things on the Internet talk more about dull pain

argueifnecessary · 18/03/2021 13:45

@KasparKat.

Tremors and shakes are also a symptom on PoTS since it is a form of dysautonomia and affects our nervous system.

But of course I am still thinking I have a brain tumor. I will discuss my halter monitor results with my doctor next week and will also ask for an MRI/CT. I just can't stop crying that I'll be leaving my DDs behind.

AJ297 · 18/03/2021 13:57

@Skyliner001 yes I do. I don't get them often but it can be anywhere. I had them at the side of my breast last week but I get them in my shoulder, side, groin and bum sometimes too!

KasparKat · 18/03/2021 14:12

@argueifnecessary oh I didn't know that, thanks. Doesn't seem to be listed on the NHS symptoms but I don't have much faith in NHS symptom lists anyway!

My GP didn't seem to think that Pots is a "real thing", he didnt quite say that but he said that a lot of slim women have problems with low blood pressure and get a big increase in heart rate when standing up. He said Pots is just an extension of that. I hope that doesn't mean he is ultimately going to dismiss my symptoms. At least he has ordered an ecg and blood tests for now.

He didn't want to dicuss my sinus pressure or dizziness and wants to do the tests first then see me the week after face to face when we can review all of my symptoms.

I actually managed to go for a run today. Felt a bit dizzy but it has made me have a bit more faith in my heart that it can cope and isn't about to fail!

@skyliner001 I get sharp pains sometimes and think it must be to do with the cysts. Although annoyingly I have a spot on my breast today near my nipple and think that is giving me shooting pains. I have to really give myself a talking to when I get the pains and tell myself it is just a spot!

Skyliner001 · 18/03/2021 14:54

Thanks everyone!

MrsWhites · 19/03/2021 07:42

@Skyliner001 I get sharp pains in both of mine but more in my lumpy left one. Sometimes they can make me stop in my tracks because they are so sharp!

AJ297 · 19/03/2021 09:46

Morning all. Hope everyone's doing ok.

Do any of you ever get like a spot on the roof of your mouth? I noticed it last night, it doesn't hurt or anything, just feels like a spot

Nogodsnomasters · 19/03/2021 13:02

Hi everyone, really struggling today because I have a very scratchy throat. Is it a cold, is it covid, will I have to take a test (have managed 12 months of pandemic without needing a test!) Can't cope with the test because I have emetophobia and it'll make me gag = panic attack plus the nerves of waiting on a result. So you can see my spiralling thought process here, feel like crying. Just wish it would go away or let it be known that it's just a standard cold.

Nogodsnomasters · 19/03/2021 13:29

@sunnysideup05 I would kill for one of those, just a blood test for literally everything the lab can test for, a full MRI and ultrasounds etc just to know once and for all if there is anything wrong.

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 19/03/2021 15:05

@Skyliner001 yes I get the occasional stabbing pain in a boob.

Very tired here today. Had to clear my throat a few times this morning and had to talk myself down from a google around throat cancer stats. I know this has come about through reading the newspaper article about the 19yr old with tongue cancer. I don't know why I do it to myself!!

@AJ297 most likely you've scratched your mouth with something - crusty bread usually scratches mine.

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 19/03/2021 15:06

@Nogodsnomasters you could just do the covid test by putting the swab in your nose not down your throat if you think you need one.
