@Vml12345 that's good to hear...I feel like my health anxiety has switched to mental health anxiety like I'm testing myself all the time to see if I'm going mad...which of course makes me feel like I am!

firsttimemum032020 · 27/11/2019 15:15

Hi there, nearly 7 weeks in. 3 on 50 and nearly 4 on 100mg. A lot of people say 8-12 to see benefits so I’m expecting another 4 weeks at least. Any insight or support? Thanks all xx

irrationalrainbow · 27/11/2019 16:05

Hi all I was switched last week to 100mg and today up to 150mg very fast I know but I was on 200mg before and stopped suddenly now my anxiety and intrusive thoughts are unbearable even with diazepam I have missed so much work and find it hard to deal with daily tasks without the fear of dread I just really need to get myself better

firsttimemum032020 · 27/11/2019 16:29

@irrationalrainbow hi there. I know when I went up to 100 I got worse again for another week or so. I was on 50 for 3 weeks so be patient as that’s a very very quick rise up. Smile

irrationalrainbow · 27/11/2019 17:23

How are you doing now firsttimemum did it take long before u felt better?

irrationalrainbow · 27/11/2019 17:25

Alot of these comments are making me uneasy I don't really see any success storys x

firsttimemum032020 · 27/11/2019 17:36

@irrationalrainbow I still don't feel much better to be honest, I'm nearly 7 weeks in. it's very much peaks and troughs but a lot of people say 8-12 weeks?

firsttimemum032020 · 27/11/2019 17:36

@irrationalrainbow how long did it take you to feel better when you were on them before? that will be your best guide.

gothefcktosleep · 27/11/2019 18:18

How are you feeling now, @Hairydogmummy?

irrationalrainbow · 27/11/2019 18:39

I honestly can't remember but I don't remember feeling really bad at this stage which is scaring me.

Hairydogmummy · 27/11/2019 19:11

@gothefcktosleep not great to be honest. I don't know if I'm coming down with something on top to be honest. Feel quite shaky.

Hairydogmummy · 27/11/2019 19:52

@irrationalrainbow I guess most of us on here are at a similar stage? Not really been on it long enough to have success story. There's been a couple of posters hopped on to tell us it worked for them. You've stepped it up really quickly probably cos you were on 200 before. I'm still on 50 after three and a bit weeks

firsttimemum032020 · 27/11/2019 20:04

@Hairydogmummy how long have you been on it? Smile and how long is the average to help?

Hairydogmummy · 27/11/2019 21:39

@firsttimemum032020 just over three weeks. Apparently it's 4-6 weeks to improve it for anxiety but 50mg is lowest dose so I guess GP might want to increase it? I'm speaking to him on Friday so will see what he says.

firsttimemum032020 · 27/11/2019 22:26

@Hairydogmummy my GP increased me to 100 after 3 weeks on 50mg. I’m 7 weeks in and probably see a tiny tiny difference but it’s up and down. Plus I’m pregnant so doesn’t help! X

Hairydogmummy · 28/11/2019 08:04

I'm having an 'up' this morning! Sounds mad but I feel like I can feel the seratonin in me and I'm not used to it! Feel a bit manic! I'll be down again by this evening I bet...

Vml12345 · 28/11/2019 09:25

I’ve felt better over last few days! Think I’ve been expecting too much and that I would wake up feeling ā€˜normal’ again. I do feel more relaxed and less grumpy and am able to rationalise things better!!! Feeling hopeful at almost four weeks šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ˜€xx

That’s great @Vml12345 and @Hairydogmummy

I am on my second day today and no signs of bad side effects yey. Long may that continue!

jellybeanpeach · 28/11/2019 13:48

@Vml12345 @Hairydogmummy Great you are feeling better.

I am just over 3 weeks now. And for the first time I woke up (still early) not feeling shaky and panic. I planned out all tasks I want to achieve today and actually completely 2/3 now at 2pm. I also noticed that I smiled at funny things on TV these couple of days. So I do think the med is start working and maybe the side effects are fading.

Mind and brain are such tricky things, everyone will have different experiences. We are at least brave enough to take the step to make ourselves better.

Vml12345 · 28/11/2019 14:41

@jellybeanpeach I was stuck in traffic yesterday which normally makes me anxious and I found myself singing along to the radio thinking I’ll get home at some point!!! I’m also less snappy with my husband and two little boys Xxxx

Hi everyone, it's around 12 or 13 weeks for me, have lost track! I was on 50mg for 8 weeks then 75mg for about 3 weeks and been on 100mg for over a week now. Today I'm really depressed and have very little motivation to do anything, which is confusing me. Think I expected something that would feel much more life changing after 3 months. I guess I have to give the new dosage a longer shot but I'm worried about wasting all this time on something that doesn't help ultimately, and getting my hopes raised.

Fingers crossed this is just a particularly tough day for some unknown reason and I'll feel much better (more consistently) very soon. Hope everyone feels like they're winning today! šŸ’

TrySleepingWithABrokenHeart · 28/11/2019 15:06

Hi guys, sorry I’ve been absent for a few days. Dealing with sick children.

Today I woke up and felt dreadful! The worst I have felt. All my worries which made me feel ill since last spring were back at the forefront of my mind and I felt sick with worry again. I managed to get up out of bed but the thought of facing the day ahead just filled me with dread. I realised I have definitely not felt this bad in weeks.

Anyway, about half an hour into the day I realised something. I forgot to take my tablet last night. I am in disbelief at what seems to be the effect of missing one tablet and it has shown me just how much of a positive impact they have been having on me.

I am trying my best to power through today without the medicine as I thought it would be best to just hold off and take my medicine this evening than to take one and then another tonight.

I’m feeling horrendous but in the back of my mind it has just proven to me that sertraline is working really well for me which is a nice thought. I haven’t caught up on the thread yet so I’ll have a little read through now. I hope you’re all doing well.

firsttimemum032020 · 28/11/2019 15:22

@PeninsulaPanic hi there, I hope you start to feel better again soon Smile remember that we’ll all have bad days , even those who aren’t suffering! Had you seen a difference with the tablets before now? X

irrationalrainbow · 28/11/2019 16:12

Firsttimemum what dosage are you on? I really hope to be feeling better for Christmas I am a nightmare to be around so withdrawn quiet and depressed looking.

firsttimemum032020 · 28/11/2019 16:29

@irrationalrainbow im on 100, have been for 4 weeks and 50 for 3 before that?
