MN not working for me

Just wanted some advice on how to get friendly with mumsnetters. I do post but I don't seem to make any friends on here. It seems that lots of people chat away and seem to know each other quite well. Whereas I feel that I always seem to kill threads. I have lots of friends outside Mumsnet and am generally outgoing but I would just love to have some friends on line. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, I know how you feel, it does take a while. I think MN is a generally friendly place if you persevere. It can be a bit irritating when you post something which gets no replies or one or two, and then a more well known Mnetter posts about the same thing and then 200 posts later it is still going strong

It is worth it you know, just keep posting

I kill threads too

Hello Spoo!

tibsy · 13/02/2007 16:53

hi spoo, i'm new too and agree with you about threadkilling and feeling a bit paranoid sometimes! i look at unanswered threads in the hope that i'll make a new friend....saddo!!!

jhyesmum · 13/02/2007 17:01

Hi Spoo!

I feel like that too! I'm happy to chat anytime!

poppiesinaline · 13/02/2007 17:08

Hi Spoo - have you got MSN? I know some MNetters have each others MSN addresses and MSN too....

generally happens if you recognise someone on a topic you go on a lot and strike up a 'connection' if that makes sense.

Then when you come on MN it makes you feel more part of it when you can see your MSN buddies hanging around

Hi Spoo

Hopefully you're feeling a bit more settled in now. If you are feeling extra, extra brave we also have a regular Worcestershire meet-up that you are welcome to join. Keep a look out on the 'meet-ups' board.

Bar's open - come & meet us all - free cocktails!
