[sheepishly comes in from the cold]. Sorry, a mix of too much work and trying to give DH a little of my attention. It's been a funny old week. Several friends have been affected by the illness of others so much that life has been a little sobering. A friend was talking about New Years resolutions and that you should think about what is really important to you, and focus on that instead of a traditional resolution. So, I am trying to spend a little quality time with DH who gets a tired me at the end of the day, with a head buried in homework or the Internet.

Where are you thinking of moving to Magi? Presumably still close to the sea (or will it be overseas??).

I came home from a trip to the park today too. Lovely sunshine and fresh air was had by all but now I just want to snooze!

Pumble · 19/01/2015 22:34

Waving hi from the house of germs...hope to be better soon so I can form coherent sentences again to reply to you both....! Smile

OP posts:
magimedi · 20/01/2015 17:17

Sorry to hear about the germs - hope you all get better asap.

row - you are quite right to give your DH some time. It's al lto easy to spend too much time here. Doesn't matter for me as DH & I are both retired so good to do things apart.

Not going to move now! Every winter I have a hankering to move into our nearest town, rather thanbeing in the suburbs & I could walk into town, to the sea etc. Trouble is we have a house that suits us here & could not get anything like it in that location.

rowrowrowtheboat · 25/01/2015 21:23

Hello!

How are the germs?

Magi, maybe you will move in a few years. Your location sounds envious to me, I'm rather landlocked!

Studying hard here, but it it interesting.

rowrowrowtheboat · 28/01/2015 17:55

Hello! How are you both?

Feeling tired, fed up and glum here! Need to shake it off. I'll start with a joke

Why is 6 scared of 7?

Because 7 8 9

magimedi · 28/01/2015 22:41

GROAN - to that joke - but I do love a groan-y joke!

row - it's the arse end of the year, end of January, weather shite, al lthe Xmas bills are coming in etc etc.

But, the days are so much longer now. Light here until 17.10, even on a cloudy day! It's all going in the right direction now.

Ever the optomist -

Magi xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Pumble · 31/01/2015 07:49

It's so nearly February Smile. The long month of January is almost over. Days are definitely getting longer as we are having fewer trips that end in darkness! Hope you're feeling a but better row? What have you got planned for half term in a couple of weeks? Are you doing anything fun with the girls?

How's your DIL getting on magi? You must be so excited-started knitting? Wink

All ok here. The pumblettes and I are getting used to the fact it's just the three of us for much of the week now. I've started a jar I have to put a button in every time I shout at them. It really makes you stop and think a and try to find other methods as otherwise you know there is a visual reminder. I did tell the pumblettes I would start one for their tantrums when we had a particularly tantrummy day Wink

Hoping you both have a lovely weekend and manage to get outside Smile

OP posts:
Pumble · 05/02/2015 18:12

I assume putting the pumblettes in a cupboard would be frowned upon....Wink

OP posts:
Pumble · 05/02/2015 19:08

And can I put mr p in there too please Wink

OP posts:
magimedi · 06/02/2015 10:36

Not frowned on at all - lock them all in same cupboard, bung 'em some bread & water (if you are feeling kind) & go out. Grin

Hope you feel a bit better today - it really is cabin fever time of year now. Looks lovely out but when you do go out it's so berluddy Baltic you don't want to stay out.

According to DH (who is pretty good at weather) it should be warming up by Sunday/Monday which will improve things.

Nothing much to report from here - am off to France in a few weeks to see DS & DIL & the pile of stuff to take (we are driving) is mounting steadily. Have made a basket of baby stuff that I thought might be useful - towels, lanilosh, scratch mitts, wet wipes etc etc. Other Granny to be has bought quite a few clothes & they have been given loads of stuff by friends so am concentrating on other bits & pieces.

And will have to do a supermarket trip for marmite, oats (v.v expensive in France), black treacle, etc etc. And gin! (for DS obv not DIL - much as she misses a drink!).

Pumble · 06/02/2015 20:18

I'm letting them out occasionally....!

That's a great idea for you DIL magi. Will have a think if there's anything else that I loved along those lines that you could throw in.

A day without the pumblettes tomo as got a big concert. In a way I think it has come at a great time as they are driving me a little loopy....!

OP posts:
magimedi · 06/02/2015 22:13

Have a wonderful day tomorrow, Pumble.

Every mother & wife needs a day away to be herself again - it's so important.

What is the concert?

And I'd love any suggestions of things to chuck into the basket.

Mind you I am having to be very strong to resist little socks & sleep suits & all the teeny tiny baby stuff.

And not to but any 'Princess' crap (am sure I have said it's a girl) & DIL hates pink/princess stuff.

I think I am going to have to find the MOST awful bit of princess tack & include it - just for fun. We get on well enough that it will be seen as a joke.

Pumble · 07/02/2015 08:00

In haste as pumblettes jumping on me in bed but just thought of adding nice hand cream ( clarins was great for my hands) for after nappy changing and a good thermos mug to keep tea warm. Will keep thinking Smile

Hallo!

The pile of stuff that is going to go to France with us has mounted up so much (& it is a couple of weeks until we go) that I had to have a trial car pack!! ('Twas fine.)

All is going well - baby is small for dates, according to the Dr - but as DIL is only just 5ft tall I am not surprised. And DS isn't huge either.

Am getting most excited about seeing them both - haven't seen them since September.

How is half term going for you all?

magimedi · 22/02/2015 22:42

HALLO!!!

How are you all?

rowrowrowtheboat · 24/02/2015 10:20

Hello! Sorry, I've been spending less time on here. Instead I have been studying, knitting and catching up with Broadchurch.

Tell me, when is the baby due Magi? You must be really excited Bout going over next week.

The measuring of babies always seems a work of mystery and art to me - hopefully mum is keeping well and is being looked after. I loved my one health visitor - I had to keep going to have my first DD weighed as she was so petite, and then this one health visitor, looked at me, remembered my husband, and said, well, I think this is just how she is meant to be. You don't need to keep coming every two weeks. It took all the worry and pressure away and six years later, she is still petite, but perfectly well, with a normal appetite and energy.

Pumble · 24/02/2015 20:15

You must be getting so excited magiSmile what else did you put in the basket in the end?

And what are you knitting row?

Life is potentially about to be full of big changes ici....some would say exciting I say terrifying and have decided that I would like to go and live in a cave en famille instead....

OP posts:
rowrowrowtheboat · 24/02/2015 22:00

Ooooooh Pumble! Are you and Magi both going to be getting v excited about similar things?

I'm knitting two blankets, I've been designing them and I am still testing a couple of squares to check the design of ok, then I'll be off and running (or more likely sitting for years trying to finish them. It's a mix of letters, hearts and textured patterns all in three colours.

magimedi · 24/02/2015 22:38

Am I suspecting that you are going to be moving to 'furrin' parts, Pumble?

Basket has muslins, baby towels (with cute hoods), scratch Mitts, sudocream, bath stuff, lanilosh (sp?) cream, lovely handcream (great idea), posh handwash (cheap at T K Maxx), and the cutest softest little cuddly bunny you ever saw.

Second series of Broadchurch left me cold, I'm afraid. Hope the studying is going well - you have a lot on your plate, Row.

Lovely to hear from you both - it's just nice to catch up now & again.

PS My swimming is going really well - was in the pool the other day & shared a lane with a vair handsome young guy (who was Greek) who told me that I swam like a beautiful woman!!! Made my day as I am old enough to be his granny. Grin

PPS - He was very fit!! Still thinking about him!!

magimedi · 25/02/2015 19:25

Drums fingers on table - waiting to hear about this, Pumble!

rowrowrowtheboat · 26/02/2015 18:10

(joins in drumming).

The basket sounds lovely, some great things in there. We had a basket with very similar things in it. They will love it. Broadchurch was not so good the scold time round, I couldn't remember enough of the first and I was disappointed but needed to see it to the end. Swimming sounds great, especially the compliments. I think everyone should give more.

Studying is ok, I do have too much on my plate, but I'm having a feet up night tonight to recharge.

Where are you Pumble?

Pumble · 26/02/2015 19:08

So.... We thought we might have a third pumblette but mr P is barely in the country so a challenge abd because of my pcos was told it would take a long time..... Turns out maybe it only takes once.... Shock Which is utterly terrifying as thought it would take ages. Haven't tested yet as too terrified to have it confirmed! So could be panicking over nothing....

And we are thinking of up rooting our lives to the west country to be nearer my mum and dad as mr P away so much but there is a chance we could be off to Amsterdam instead.... And this possible extra third pumblette rather adds another dimension...

I know I should just do a test!!!!

OP posts:
rowrowrowtheboat · 26/02/2015 21:03

Wow Pumble! I remember you talking about the possibility of number 3. What exciting times, and yes, terrifying until it sinks in. I know lots of three children families, you will be great at it I'm sure. When you are ready to do the test, we'll be thinking of you. Hope Mr P is home soon to be with you all too.

Lots of decisions to make about your home, but it sounds like with either way you will be closer to loved ones. whichever way you go, the Pumbles will be a team.

magimedi · 26/02/2015 23:01

POAS - as they say here to everyone who wonders. POAS ASAP!!

Amsterdam sounds like a lot of fun - please book me in for a visit Grin

West country sounds even better - especially if P3 is a reality.

Keep us up to speed with all of this, won't you?

Hugs to you both.

PS Went swimming today & it was just full of women of my age - le sigh!

Pumble · 27/02/2015 10:04

Shit shit shit shit

Who gets pregnant after once?! Shock
