I've got lots to lose, I'm feeling lousy, so heavy, achy and sluggish and I can't bear to see myself in the mirror so I'm making a dramatic change. Losing a pound a week is not going to cut it.

I eat far too many carbs so I think this Mediterranean style of eating and the the drastic cut in calories will do me good. I've read the book, I've stocked up on the right foods and cleared out the crap. I haven't eaten yet but I'll have my first meal soon.

I know that it will be hard going at times but the promise of rapid weight loss is worth a bit of pain.

Wish me luck. I'll update on my progress as I go.

@froufroufoxes You may be due a https://caliberstrong.com/how-whooshes-impact-your-weight-loss/?utmsource=pepperjam&utmmmedium=affiliate&utmcampaign=21181&clickId=2645329805 whoosh]]
Ironically though I've been losing steadily, I've read about whooshes and was feeling down that I hadn't had one Sad Seems the grass is always greener!

I'm ten days in and I've lost a total of 4.5kgs so far which I'm pleased with as I've really been unwell, off to the doctors on Monday morning to hopefully rule out glandular fever 🥵, but managed to stay on plan bar two social occasions.

Food today was a big bowl of homemade veg soup (broccoli and cauliflower stalks, leeks and carrots and a veg stock cube) for lunch and a blackened salmon fillet on stir fried sugar snap peas, baby corn, bell pepper and a few slices of carrot with sriracha sauce and a splash of sesame oil. I just added some noodles for DH.

Balloondog · 05/04/2019 20:01

Damn! I have never yet managed a proper clicky link but you get the idea hopefully...

froufroufoxes · 05/04/2019 20:02

@thenewaveragebear1983 mmmm delicious

froufroufoxes · 05/04/2019 20:08

@Balloondog that's fantastic, well done.
Yes, let's all keep our fingers crossed for a whoosh!

millionaireshortie · 06/04/2019 07:47

I have been doing this and it's the only thing that's worked for me - I think my body/mind really needed the shock of significantly lower calories to kick start weight loss. I lost 4 pounds in the first week even though I'm not a big person. Can't wait for next weigh in :) Let's keep the thread going - so motivating!

PhoenixMama · 06/04/2019 09:30

Well done @balloondog! That's fab!

So after a bit of a crisis last night when the new scale I bought was off by 8lbs (and I nearly cried) it seems to have recalibrated itself and this morning the difference between old & new is 3/4 of a lb - I can live with that.

DD has a piano lesson in 30 mins so I'll use the time to plan this week's menu and do my online shop. Have a great weekend! x

lionelduty · 06/04/2019 12:19

Been lurking on this thread but not quite ready to commit yet, but interesting to read for ideas!
How's the new job, op?

concernedforthefuture · 06/04/2019 12:25

Me too @lionelduty but I've decided to stop lurking and start the diet today. I'm only just overweight (BMI is 25.5) but body fat percentage is 39.9% Shock so I need to shift some fat - much of which is sitting around my organs I fear.
It will be tough as kids came home from school with loads of chocolate yesterday but I'm ignoring it and will do this!

PhoenixMama · 07/04/2019 10:32

Welcome @lion & @concerned !

I'm down another pound today which makes somewhere between 3-5 this week. Glad I'll be just basing next week on the new scale. It also measures body fat (although I watched a short documentary that showed that most of them were out between 4- 15%!) the scary thing is it says my metabolic age is 49 and I'm 43!

Going to watch the boat race at a friend's today and they are all big drinkers. Not sure how I'm going to navigate all the snack food Blush I am planning on wearing my skinniest jeans so they can hopefully see the difference losing 18lbs makes!

Suffolkelfie · 08/04/2019 09:32

First week completed. Total weight loss 7 lb! I am so pleased.

I have also lost a total of 6 inches including 1.5 from my waist.

PhoenixMama · 08/04/2019 10:42

Well done Suffolk!

Went to the party yesterday and it was the first day in 3 weeks where I didn't calorie count and tbh it was weird! Although the cheese I ate was delicious!

Apparently though I've gained 3lbs overnight Hmm but I'm due on in 3 days and my weight fluctuates up to 15lbs so I think this is going to be a week of all over the place weigh-ins. Planned to be very strict today but am having lunch out and there's basically nothing under 300 cals so have just entered everything and I'll be over by about 63 cals which is fine in the grand scheme of things! Really going to need to be focused this week as it involves a lot of running around and several meals out. Fingers crossed!

SansaForTheIronThrone · 08/04/2019 11:17

I've just been to weigh myself, I was going to try and wait a full week but it's day 6 today and my birthday and so I couldn't wait! I used the same weighing machine and same time of day and if it's correct I've lost 10.5lbs!! I'm gobsmacked and hoping it's not too good to be true! Definitely not having any birthday cake now what a motivation!

whitehalleve · 08/04/2019 15:17

Some great first week weigh ins! Mine's tomorrow Smile

froufroufoxes · 08/04/2019 18:30

Happy birthday Sansa. What a birthday present!

concernedforthefuture · 08/04/2019 19:43

Wow @SansaForTheIronThrone - that's amazing. Happy birthday !

SansaForTheIronThrone · 08/04/2019 21:25

Thank you! Some brilliant successes on here, well done everyone.

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 08/04/2019 21:53

Gorging on all this Info. Great thread thank you

800hereIcome · 09/04/2019 13:14

Some great losses on here. Well done all.

I have lost a further 3lb. Not huge but a steady 3lb for 9 weeks would mean me going into June as 11 something stones and not 13 something stones so if I can keep it up then I'm happy.

I know one stone makes very little visible difference (lost a stone last year then regained) I'm really hoping losing 2 will be noticeable.

Plus I have been trying out my son's weights for bicep curls and dusted off my cross-trainer for an every other day youtube workout.

PhoenixMama · 09/04/2019 13:21

Well done Sansa!

Scale's saying I've gained again which really can't be happening so I'm guessing it's cycle related. Definitely craving ALL the carbs today! Out for dinner tonight and I've discovered the restaurant doesn't list any nutritional information on their website! That can't be good can it? It's Mexican so at least there will be some things I can eat! Fingers crossed I stay on track!

whitehalleve · 09/04/2019 18:09

6lb down. I'm happy with that!

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 09/04/2019 20:50

I’ve done day one!! Had no breakfast and think it did me good to feel the hunger and push through until 1 when I had roasted veg with a fried egg and then a curried type green bean/ potato/ caulk thing from hello fresh which I’d already got but was 400 calories. Now having some yoghurt
Was toying with just doing fast days but today was easy. My worry is that I run and I’m worried I might not have any energy. Plenty of fat stores mind you as today shows!

concernedforthefuture · 09/04/2019 21:35

@Whoopstheregomyinsides - I will be interested to hear how you get on with the running. I usually run 5K twice a week but have put it on hold this week as wasn't sure I'd have enough oomph to do it. Went for a longish but slow walk yesterday (day 3) and really felt quite wobbly in my legs on the hills. My plan was to not run whilst on the 800kcal daily part of the Fast 800 (probably no more than 2 weeks for me), then get back to it when I move onto 5:2 or 2:5.

Imgoingtodothis · 09/04/2019 22:55

I've been doing this for just over three weeks and have lost 13lbs. I can't believe what a difference in less than a month. I've dropped a dress size and starting to get some lovely comments from people. Wanted to share as I relied on posts like this to get me started on the 800.

PhoenixMama · 10/04/2019 10:20

Excellent results @imdoing - you must be so happy!

I wondered how/when people are doing dress sizes. I've lost 17lbs over the month but still not down a size. I'm wondering if it had more to do with the fact that I haven't been able to do any exercise because of the chest infection?

On that note I take the last pill today & ran up an escalator last night and didn't feel like my chest would implode so I think I might (hope!) be passed it!

SansaForTheIronThrone · 10/04/2019 11:28

Well done everyone on their losses, I'm walking on air right now as I just weighed in and in my first week I have lost 15lbs! I am stunned and it wasn't even that hard to stick to. Lots of water and peppermint tea when I was feeling a bit hungry and a couple of light headaches. I am a total Pepsi Max addict usually and I've cut that out completely which has probably helped. Very interested to see how next week will go.
