I've got lots to lose, I'm feeling lousy, so heavy, achy and sluggish and I can't bear to see myself in the mirror so I'm making a dramatic change. Losing a pound a week is not going to cut it.

I eat far too many carbs so I think this Mediterranean style of eating and the the drastic cut in calories will do me good. I've read the book, I've stocked up on the right foods and cleared out the crap. I haven't eaten yet but I'll have my first meal soon.

I know that it will be hard going at times but the promise of rapid weight loss is worth a bit of pain.

Wish me luck. I'll update on my progress as I go.

Can I join? I've just bought the book and think this whole new plan is what I need. Though some of the recipes sound horrible! Going to give it my best shot as I'm the heaviest I've ever been, my belly is massive and in 4 weeks I'm going on holiday. So slight panic but better than no action. That duck recipe sounds gorgeous btw Grin

DareDevil223 · 17/03/2019 20:15

@Awks all are welcome here, we are very inclusive Smile

I've been using my own recipes as I am a keen cook and just putting them into My Fitness Pal.

I just wanted to share - I bought the Blood Sugar Diet cookbook and it's SO much better than the recipes in the book. I'm trying about 5 recipes this week so will report back!

MsKhan · 17/03/2019 22:00

Just checking in at the end of the weekend ... I think I've reached abit of a plateau as well @Jacksback .. been weighing myself since Thursday and still 146.4 lbs... so frustrating as I'm sticking to the diet strictly but not seeing any loss Sad how's everyone else got on over the weekend?

Onwards to a better week for us all x

NewFitMe · 18/03/2019 07:02

I weighed 78.4kg this morning so it’s a 3.3kg loss in the first week. Very happy with that. I feel like my waist is thighter but all the clothes fit the same. I know it’s only been a week but I just can’t wait to see some results! I’m so impatient

Catbot · 18/03/2019 09:03

Newfitme that's brilliant! Hope it's getting a bit easier now you've seen some results.

I've caught up on all the posts. I didn't post myself over the weekend because I've done nothing but eat and drink. I haven't weight
Ed myself and I'm not going to until I've done a couple of days back on the 800 cals, starting today. I'm getting so used to eating one meal a day now. Yesterday, for example, I made Sunday lunch for all the family and just had that. We ate a bit later but normally I'd still have cheese and biscuits in the evening (drifts away....) but I didn't. I still felt mega full.

It seems like everyone is losing, which is great. Is anyone not losing?

DareDevil223 · 18/03/2019 09:15

Another .6lbs off since Saturday so that's an exact 19lbs off in the first 4 weeks. I'm pretty pleased with that and I'm carrying on

Have a good day everyone Smile

Day 1 almost done! Going to bed in a mo so I don't eat!

Awks · 19/03/2019 06:50

Lost 3lbs in one day. This is a miracle 😬 I know it will be water but hallelujah

cittigirl · 19/03/2019 07:34

That's great Awks.
I'm another lb down. 7.5 in 2 weeks I think. Could have been better but better than nowt.

PhoenixMama · 19/03/2019 08:38

So I'm 6lbs down from day 1! I know it's mostly water but I'll take it!

Awks · 19/03/2019 09:32

It's great to read all these posts with fabulous losses. Well done y'all

GhostBustersFavouriteMum · 19/03/2019 13:25

Hello hello! I'd like to add my welcome to you lovely losers also Grin ha! Been waiting 3 days to use that pun.

Sorry I've been absent for two whole pages!!!! Wow!! I have an absolute raging week old cold thanks to the little carrier monkeys I called ds and dd who have shaken it off in a couple of days. Great!
I cannot lie, this past week has been an absolute trial. (Not least because whilst I've been working from home so as not to 'infect the entire board' thanks for that boss Hmm dp has taken to bed also with a cold because and I quote "I've never felt so I'll, do you think it's SARS? Omg am I dying? Can you make me that pizzolla you do?" And as it's DPs job to do the dog walks I've been getting very very wet and cold and thouroughly fecked off.
Rant over. Sorry.
Anyway my go to sick food is any baked goods and honey. All of which I have avoided. Yay go me. I have eaten loads of chicken broth and have discovered marrowbone done in the slow cooker is good for a cold soul! (complete accident, so tired I forgot to turn the slow cooker off containing beef bones I was making stock with and woke up the next morning to 4 portions of soft marrowbone I gobbled up some with asparagus for brunch and felt instantly soothed!!!)

I have been at a plateau for 2 weeks and was feeling very demotivated. I reread the article which @daredevil signposted us to and I went over what I had REALLY consumed I was eating quite a lot more carbs than I accounted for. I've now cut out carbs after breakfast and this week I have lost 2lb already. Problem seems to be solved hopefully!
I have been having this tomato soup for lunch www.you.co.uk/fast-800-diet-recipes/ and protein and veg only for dinner.
@dare, that duck sounds lushola, you naughty little renderer you! Grin
Best of luck everyone xxx

DareDevil223 · 19/03/2019 17:26

Yay Ghostbuster there you are! I've missed you lovely. Sorry that you haven't been well Flowers. The marrowbone sounds amazing. Don't be a stranger now Wink xx

Wow well done Ghostbuster - it's when I get pushed that things fall apart so it's amazing you've held it together.

Really head achey tonight but discovered the most amazing recipe for a blood sugar diet peanut butter chocolate fudge - only 88 cals a piece!

800hereicome · 19/03/2019 20:45

Hello all.

Wonder if I can join you? I have read your whole thread and feel so inspired. I bought the book today, read cover to cover (whilst consuming 3 packets of monster munch) and plan to join you Saturday (family meal on Fri). The forbidden foods basically make up my diet so I know it is going to be v v tough.

I have been so disappointed with my weight gain over the past 7/8 years and I too avoid mirrors. Just want to recognise my old self again and not the frumpy grump staring back from the mirror. Aiming for 2 stones initially, 4 would be amazing.

See you all Saturday!

GhostBustersFavouriteMum · 19/03/2019 21:03

Awe thanks @dare, you're an absolute love, mwah. I promise to be strange only hehe xx
@phoenix I run on about 40% 'sheer bloody mindedness power' most of the time which helps me to stay on track!

GhostBustersFavouriteMum · 19/03/2019 21:04

@800 welcome in portentia

GhostBustersFavouriteMum · 19/03/2019 21:08

Oh btw can you share that recipe? @phoenix sounds LUSH

NewFitMe · 19/03/2019 21:35

800 remember the first week is tough but it gets easier. I promise! You’ll feel amazing

DownRightAmazing · 20/03/2019 08:17

Second week done, another 6lb down making 15lb in total - over a stone in two weeks! I am pretty delighted. I plan to stay on 800 a day until Easter (when we have s holiday planned) so another 4 weeks/hopefully at least another stone 😀

PhoenixMama · 20/03/2019 08:21

Welcome 800!

So down 2lbs after day 2. Yesterday was harder because I ended up having to do something I wasn't expecting to and didn't get to eat until 2.5 hours later than I planned. I was famished and then the headaches kicked in. But 8lbs in 2 days is amazing and I can definitely see a difference in my wobbly belly - it's shrinking!

PhoenixMama · 20/03/2019 08:25

And here's the recipe for Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge. It's definitely worth entering the recipe into MFP and letting it know how many squares you cut it into as that changes the calories per piece. I also used a slightly longer tin and made it thinner which helps.

Time needed: 20 minutes + setting • Calories per serving: 102 per square • Servings: 16-20 squares •

Ingredients
• 200g (7oz) coconut milk
• 200g (7oz) dark chocolate, 70% cocoa solids, chopped
• 100g (3.5oz) peanut butter
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 4 tablespoons oat bran (optional)

Method

  1. Bring coconut milk to a simmer in a medium saucepan. Meanwhile, line a loaf pan with foil or baking paper.
  1. Remove from the heat and add the chocolate. Stand for a few minutes so the chocolate melts.
  1. Stir in the peanut butter, vanilla and oat bran (if using). I like to leave a few chunks of peanut butter in the mixture.
  1. Transfer fudge mixture to the prepared tin and refrigerate for a few hours, or until set.
  1. Chop into small squares.
  • After cutting them I added a sprinkle of seasalt & it really helps balance the sweetness!
Awks · 20/03/2019 08:27

These losses are amazing! Had to go to bed st 9 last night do I didn't eat and day three had brought me a headache. I think that's normal though as the sugar withdrawal must be a real shocker for my body. Lost another 3/4 of a pound though so 4 pounds in 2 days. I. Any actually believe it - after the menopause I've struggled so badly to lose weight but this is working. It's bloody brutal though 😂

Awks · 20/03/2019 08:28
