Snow I was 12lbs down on Friday but the weekend wine caught up with me!
I didn't have breakfast as I'm rarely hungry before 11am so just skip it usually. I had coffee with 1% milk (I don't measure it, but count 45ml)
Lunch was a 3 egg omelette with a bit of leftover halloumi
Dinner was courgetti with crab and chilli pesto and a salad (baby leaves, cucumber, beetroot and a bit of salad dressing)
Couple of cups of green tea and finished off the last glass of red wine in the bottle.

I'm just going by what MFP tells me and it says 18g carbs, so ....

TheAmazingShrinkingWoman · 22/05/2018 18:05

Had another really good day. I've had a stinking cold since Sunday and it has made everything harder but a switch in my head seems to have been flicked.

Delicious supper tonight of pesto roast chicken and vegetables. 314 cal and really tasty. Not feeling nearly as hungry between meals. Eating 10.30, 12.30 and 5.30.

Enjoying going through all the previous threads and have picked up loads of tips.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 22/05/2018 20:06

Ended up on 1350 cals, 55g carbs. Not exactly sure how that happened actually as I took a lovely salad lunch and had fajitas without the wraps for dinner. I suppose I just over estimated, and wrote it down retrospectively so it was too late to change it! Oh well.

I didn’t run today but I did do a 20 minutes Jillian workout. Tomorrow I’m planning to run before I go out for work. I’ve packed my lunch- some nice tapas bits from Tesco and some salad. It’s quite calorie heavy for a small amount but it all looks good. I enjoy my ad hoc work but I really think I’d struggle if I actually worked properly- I’m exhausted tonight, and feel stressed out at the thought of our holiday on Saturday and no opportunity to pack anything until after work on Friday.

Today was completely off-plan. DC ended up in hospital got sent home with meds but with follow-up appointments I had nothing to eat all morning and then picked up a Burger King on the way home. I don't think virtuous eating and stress go together for me.

chocbisc · 22/05/2018 21:28

Thank you hello all 👋
Today went ok up til 7. Had my 800. DH brought me home a solero. He never brings me home an ice cream but did today. It was roasting today so I demolished it. I also had 2 cream crackers with hummus. Finished at 1100 today. I think that my dinner wasn’t filling enough as I was hungry.
Are there any good filler foods? I want to keep going on this

thenewaveragebear1983 · 22/05/2018 21:30

Choc I find I need fat early in the day to really stave off hunger later on. And make sure you’re drinking enough water.

Aplace Flowers hope you are both ok, your dc was in hospital before? Hope follow ups are positive.

Sounds hard with your diabetes complications Oblomov Flowers

veryveryquietly · 22/05/2018 22:29

Place hope DC is better!

veryveryquietly · 22/05/2018 22:32

Today was not amazing, came in around 1050 cals. Another stressful work day. Past few days have been wretched for BSD as too much wine, too much stress, irregular eating. But at least I haven't (knock wood) gained anything back yet. After holiday weekend I am definitely back to hardcore, as I want to see the scale go down again, rather than hover where it's been for the past 2+ weeks.

ponygirlcurtis · 22/05/2018 22:48

Hope you're DC is doing OK now Aplace, that sounds like a scary experience.

Sorry to hear your diabetes is hard going right now Oblomov.

choc I find lots of water helps keep me full - I sometimes have an oxo cube in boiling water for something different. And loads of veg on your plate with good fats in there.

Heismyopendoor · 22/05/2018 23:20

Today has been a good day. I actually struggle so bad with will power and always keep putting things off.

So I’m just going to take this one day at a time and see how it goes. My food was delicious today so that’s a plus :)

I love reading how everyone else is doing.

Snowglobes · 23/05/2018 06:09

Unintentionally fasted for 24 hours yesterday (bar coffee & water). Then had two burgers and salad (no bun obvs). Came in under 800 but carbs a bit high. Weight this morning down from yesterday by half a kilo - I think that’s a 1lb. Did 12k steps and Pilates but still no book exercises
I think your Burger King is totally justified place. Hope your DC ok!
opendoor one day at a time is great and if you go off plan don’t jack it ALL in!! See it as a blip and get back on it.
chocbics fizzy water is good for making me feel fuller albeit may make you a bit windy too. There’s loads of research about carbonated water not causing problems. It’s very different from carbonated drinks like coke, lemonade etc.

PrimalLass · 23/05/2018 06:55

Morning. Busy few days and on/off good eating. Still going up and down the same few pounds. Away all weekend with DD at a tennis thing so eating well is going to be a challenge (as it includes a Premier Inn breakfast 😀). Saturday will be the hardest as we leave at 6am then might have to have dinner with other team members.

Oblomov18 · 23/05/2018 07:03

Just wanted to thank all the old codgers Wink who have helped me here for so long - Bear,Yum,Place.
And all others who have joined recently, it's so good to have you here. Keeps me going.
Hope dc ok Place. I too think of the BK was justified.
Good advice Snow, I'd fail, just a minor glitch, no reason for a total fail.

I was doing so well yesterday. No food till 5pm, water and tea, then diabetically low, and coming home to dining room wall knocked down and whole house of dust, and before I'd even known I'd eaten it, I'd eaten a chicken Caesar wrap!
Then low again, pre bed, had lucozade AND a chunky kit Kat. Why the kit Kat? HmmAngry
Thus total 1119. Angry

TheAmazingShrinkingWoman · 23/05/2018 07:11

Total loss after 5 days - 6.6lb!

I'm deliberately being antisocial at the moment to try and get the best start possible. Hotel stays are really hard aren't they? We've got friends coming for dinner on Saturday but that will be ok as I can control that. I'm away for one night next week at my cousin's but she is the best hostess ever and if I told her what I'm doing she'd more than likely read up on it and prepare all my meals accordingly! Might just say high protein low carb though.

Hope DC ok, Place.

TheAmazingShrinkingWoman · 23/05/2018 07:16

Oblomov - that sounds really stressful. Would it help to look back and work out what you could have done differently - might help your brain see a different pathway next time?

ChocEggNoThanks · 23/05/2018 07:38

Oblomov I'm sorry your diabetes is so difficult to manage it sounds really stressful. And Place hope your DS is ok!

Still stuck at set point here. Onwards! Hoping when I pass mid-cycle I will get a whoosh. I know I am not drinking enough but I so rarely feel thirsty. I seem to survive on 3 cups of coffee and a tea!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 23/05/2018 07:50

I’m down to 10.9 this morning (which those who tune in regularly will remember I was down to about 4 weeks ago as well, and I’ve been dicking around ever since!) so it’s a mini victory, although not actually as I’ve basically maintained. For a month. At least I am demonstrating that maintenance is possible.

Today I am working again, then will pop to town at lunch and then back to work this afternoon. I did a quick 3.5km on the treadmill this morning, but it was hard work.

Place hope your child is better today.
Oblomov it’s not the same but I remember when I was hugely pregnant and had GD. They just couldn’t get my insulin right, and every day was just a horrible roller coaster of highs, lows, hypos, and sugar. It was truly a grim few months do you have my absolute sympathy. What do your medical team suggest you do? Do they know you’re doing BSD? Flowers

Thank you for the kind words re my diabetes. But this isn't a temporary glitch. Nothing can really be done. My diabetes has been brittle, un-pattern-less and hard to manage since the beginning. I am just one of those difficult patients I'm afraid.

Its not going to get much better. Very little things left to try that we haven't tried before. I just need to learn to not let it get to me.

They are well aware that I'm doing BSD Bear. Most of the Diabetic specialists of type 1 are very pro it.

I try never to mention my diabetes in RL. Occasionally I tell my mum, when it gets REALLY bad. Its only here I tell you all about it. Your my venting outlet, I'm afraid!! Grin

Oblomov18 · 23/05/2018 08:59

Bear, although you don't want to be, I think you're our first maintain'er Grin

ATurnipOfMyOwn · 23/05/2018 09:26

place hope DC is OK
woman great results!

10st 5.75lbs this morning. Less than 2lbs to go for the first stone! Also I can suddenly see a definite reduction in my belly and waist. I look a bit less like a barrel on legs now.

Finished yesterday on 666 cals and 22g carbs. I think maybe I'm not eating enough, as I've been rather sedentary the last few days. I'm prepping for a job interview tomorrow (well I'm supposed to be but spend a lot of time fannying around.)

Got an hour with my PT today which is usually weights and a bit of brutal cardio circuit so I'm having yogurt for breakfast to give me a bit of energy. That's my carbs up to 33g already.

Right - wish me luck for tomorrow - just have to hope that the trousers I bought specially a couple of weeks ago for interviews don't fall down! I don't think that will impress the interviewers. Grin

PrimalLass · 23/05/2018 09:41

Loads of luck. I have one today but I'm v surprised I'm being interviewed so don't expect much.

Oblomov18 · 23/05/2018 09:42

Or it might do Turnip! Grin

thenewaveragebear1983 · 23/05/2018 12:16

Oblomov I’m glad they are recommending it. They took a very softly softly approach to low carb when I was pregnant and advised brown bread, bran flakes, etc which as we all know doesn’t really make a jot of difference.

I’m currently working with a lady who is T2 and she commented on my MM guts book; she’s heard of BSD but reckons it’s faddy, she could never live without sweets, and 800 calories is starving yourself- then tucked into a white roll, bag of crisps, and pot of grapes. It almost makes me want to be ‘that person’ who says something but I never will.
