Ha Phyllis Grin Must give it a try!

Only 1lb on when weighed this morning. The fasting day hopefully offset the horror of the 3 day bender!

Good luck all with cruel Tuesday 😭

veryveryquietly · 08/05/2018 08:20

Yay snowglobes for losses!

PrimalLass · 08/05/2018 10:30

1lb on for me too.

Harsh Tuesday is underway.

Snowglobes · 08/05/2018 12:12

I’m daily weighing at the mo so I can see fluctuations as first week lost nothing (apparently). I want to notice any weight loss even if it’s just half a pound.
Bear how do you add foods that aren’t listed in FatSecret app pls? it didn’t recognise the bar code of some bean crush thing I got from the deli. I know the macros & cals etc but can’t see where to input the info. Huge thanks!!

Snowglobes · 08/05/2018 12:25

I’m giving up on FatSecret and going back to MFP - the bean crush was there! Have also just discovered that I can log measurements on MFP too!!

PrimalLass · 08/05/2018 12:35

If I don't daily weigh I just kid myself.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/05/2018 12:47

Snow if you put the food in and it’s not there, scroll down to where it says ‘add new food’ and then you can input it. I do this for my own recipes as well (jot down the cals/carbs and input them)

Going well so far - 409 cals including 50 for milk for coffee. Tonight will be Quorn steak with cauliflower cheese. Will still have 144 cals to play with.

Snowglobes · 08/05/2018 15:56

Aha!!! Thank you Bear!
I’m very hungry today but don’t have any spare calories. Stupidly had 3 coffees this morning that needed lots of milk as so strong.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/05/2018 18:38

Kitchen closing on 895 cals, 39g carbs. 10k steps (no run today)

A good first day back in the saddle although I have been wafting around the kitchen a lot today and kept opening the fridge and closing it again. Must keep busier tomorrow! Not as ‘clean’ eating as I’d have liked although better than of late, but I did have a slice of ham and a slice of sausage at lunchtime. I’m about to boil some eggs as my protein for tomorrow to keep me away from pork products!

I must try now to keep out of the kitchen this evening!

So there I was, smugly sailing through my 800 cal day, thinking how it was easy and a great relief to be back on board. I even had extra calories left so decided to have some sweet potato fries...

To say I have awakened the hunger beast is the understatement of the century 😞 Having to fight not to eat. Also feeling the cold again the way I did at the start. Sitting wrapped up in a blanket while the sun beats down outside.

TOTM is due in a few days and I do have mad carb and sugar cravings at this time. It might have been easier if I hadn't eaten all the bread at the weekend. The sweet potato fries were a mistake!

Going to make a cup of tea in the hope it will fill my stomach AND warm me up.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/05/2018 20:10

Ah put, although sweet potato fries are delicious, I think the clue’s in the title!! Totm is a nightmare for me too right now, I am really craving the Sweet stuff. Are you able to get out for a walk? That might warm you up and get you out of the house and away from temptations?

Closing on 732. But that was with lucozade when I went low and a chicken kiev for dinner, so hardly ideal.

PhyllisWig · 08/05/2018 22:26

Around 850 for me. Not awful I guess. I did gain 1/2 a lb this morning but still pre menstrual and I have another problem........

I cannot 'go'. I KNOW this is common but pmt always has that effect on me already but yuk! I feel bloaty and have tummy ache and everything. I have made a coffee (usually a tea drinker) and if that doesn't work will try the porridge

GrimDamnFanjo · 09/05/2018 00:12

I made it! 10% weight loss in 8 weeks.
Still got a long way to go and a challenging June ahead but finally feel I may have found a WOE that works for me.
I'm going to do a further 4 weeks then switch to 5:2 during June. Then probably do another round at the start of August.

Oblomov18 · 09/05/2018 06:06

Well done Fanjo!!

PhyllisWig · 09/05/2018 06:56

And another 1/2 lb on and still no period. I look pregnant and am feeling blue as I'm half way through week 5 now and haven't lost any weight since week 3.

I did manage a poo though.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 09/05/2018 07:52

Phyllis that’s not good, would you be able to take something like senna to help? Or a tin of prunes?

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 09/05/2018 08:04

Ah, just realised that’s not the problem any more!

I found when I first started this, my first few cycles I was all over the place when I’m normally pretty regular. It has all balanced out now. It must be the hormones all fluctuating in response to the insulin changes.

PhyllisWig · 09/05/2018 08:43

I was reading something about how the fat loss triggers heavy periods because of oestrogen release which I found interesting. Certainly the period I had at the start of this was heavier than normal. Fingers crossed for opening floodgates soon......

Hope everyone else has a good day.

Tootyfilou · 09/05/2018 10:09

Hi all,
weighed yesterday ( I only weigh weekly) and have only lost a pound! I have been so good, never exceeded 800cals. However I was very inactive because of work and job application. still determined and will drastically increase exercise this week.

Oblomov18 · 09/05/2018 13:10

I haven't weighed. I normally only do it weekly anyway.

But we are having repairs done: new patio atm, soon new doors and windows, (they are 20 years old - at a cost of £10k !! Shock) and later a kitchen update.

I'm only a week in and am pissed off. Could take months. Of dust and shit. Doesn't bode well, does it?

Anyway we got rid of my favourite huge dresser in the dining room, in preparation for the wall to the kitchen to be knocked through.

This dresser stored: all wine, wine glasses, biscuits and crisps, sellotape, birthday cards, sewing kit, and everything else useful and handy - plus, underneath, weighing scales.

None of us can remember where ANY of this stuff WENT!! Dh asked me, did it go up in the loft, front shed, back shed, garage?

How am I supposed to know! You moved it all!
Hmm

So. No weighing atm.

Hi PhyllisWig, can you please provide a link to the article on fat loss and periods. TIA

thenewaveragebear1983 · 09/05/2018 14:50

Phyllis if you’re definitely late and definitely not pregnant you can use parsley tea to bring your period on. I used to use it when my pcos was bad because like you I’d get really bloated and uncomfortable and also very emotional and hormonal! It does work, but can’t stress enough you mustn’t use it if there’s a chance you may be pregnant.

Just had a huge salad dinner.

I had water and tea all day. No breakfast. Then roasted peppers and goats cheese for lunch.

I cut off all the pastry from the quiche. That bought my dinner in at 500, 826 for the day. But I wonder if I'm underestimating. Hmm what do you all think?

I now have to take both boys to football matches. There will be nothing else but water available.

Hopefully I can keep it around 800 for the next few days.
