Some impressive recent losses here! I did my starting weigh in this morning. 11st 9lb. So far omelette for breakfast and am on the lemon and hot water Smile. Busy day so hopefully will not think about food too much.

Oblomov17 · 05/09/2017 12:44

Stuffed pepper with feta.

That looks lovely oblo, what are they stuffed with?

I've just had pea and Ham soup, made in my soup maker. Was delicious but lacking a nice chunk of granary to dunk!

Oblomov that looks nice. I made the one from the BSD book yesterday. My daughter had it too but could only manage half, so I had the rest of it for lunch today with some mature cheddar.

Three days in and I'm feeling really good on the low carb. My big carb sins were huge amounts of pasta and beer. I didn't really eat much in the way of sweet stuff or crisps.

I can live without the pasta, tbh, but beer... I'm really not sure I can say goodbye to that forever. I don't drink a lot, but I really like a nice ale! Sad

IfYouHappenToSee · 05/09/2017 13:47

I'm recording what I eat on MFP, but it's also really helpful to have this thread too!

LakeFlyPie · 05/09/2017 14:02

Amazing to see all of the lbs dropping off this thread.
I faced my 1st real challenge yesterday: a friend visiting for 2 nights.
Prepped all food beforehand; middle eastern style for last evening's meal - so could have strictly kept to 800 in theory, and I just limited myself to a small bowl of red cabbage slaw at lunchtime.
I did go for fairly sizeable portions of dinner (it was delicious if I say so myself 😁) and a couple of glasses of wine and annoyingly forgot not to have the pitta bread which I could have happily managed without but mindlessly ate. But generally was much more restrained than I would have been otherwise, both food and wine-wise and am being super strict today in the run up to dinner no2 this evening.
Have just had a poached egg on spinach for lunch and have made a chilli for this evening which I'll have with some salad (no rice) and will limit myself to 1 glass of wine. I was going to make an apple crumble but bought a small packet of macarons instead which hopefully DP and Dguest will demolish and then there won't be a half dish of crumble left to tempt me.
On the temptation front the DC baked biscuits yesterday and the bloody recipe yielded twice the stated amount so there is a huge tin of the buggers which I am resisting as if I know that if I have 1 it'll turn into 10. Might take the rest into work tomorrow to remove the temptation!
I'm 1 week in today and 2.2 kg down so feeling motivated to keep going. I'd forgotten how good food tastes when you're actually hungry.

HerRoyalFattyness · 05/09/2017 14:37

I'm having stuffed peppers for my tea tonight. But I won't get in until late as I'm at work, then straight to college after work.

JigglyTuff · 05/09/2017 17:37

I have loads of frozen Covent Garden low cal soup in the freezer (well, two cartons) and realised it's massively high in carbs. Feel very annoyed as I didn't check when I bought it. They obviously thicken their soups with half a pound of potatoes Hmm

Having said I've eaten no bread, I remembered that I have actually eaten two LivLife loaves - one in the last week Blush

I wish they were more widely available because they are almost like bread (albeit very small slices)

Flightywoman · 05/09/2017 18:41

I've just stupidly scarfed two of the child's chicken goujons Angry at self

I am still under the 800, but with almost none left for supper so I think it will be a lean evening, probably involving chicken bovril!

Still, tuna and cheese omelette for breakfast and halloumi and tomatoes for lunch - it's been quite cheesy so maybe laying off tonight will be a good idea...

IfYouHappenToSee · 05/09/2017 19:08

Roasted veg and cheese omlette for tea.

Still feeling fab!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 05/09/2017 19:46

Tandoori chicken and salad for my tea, with a smidge of guacamole. I was so hungry! It was delicious!

Today has been my first day where I have felt really properly on it. I haven't snacked, or even wanted to; I've been on the go all day, did 2k on the treadmill when ds had his nap. Feeling really positive!

Weighed myself this morning.

Day 3 done successfully and 5 1/2 lb down!!! I mean, I know some of it's water and all that, but I haven't felt hungry or found it difficult so far, and don't feel ill at all so fingers crossed it stays like this!!

And I've been drinking plenty and eating loads of veg and good quality protein. All good so far...

IfYouHappenToSee · 06/09/2017 07:21

Tbf, though, the weight I am now is what I've been for a while and only really put on that 5+lbs over the summer Blush due to beer and summer food.

PinkBlossomTree · 06/09/2017 07:40

5lbs in 3 days Ifyouhappen blimey that's amazing.

Bear your meals look so adventurous to mine, doing great on your treadmill. I was hoping to get back on mine but the electrics have gone crazy. Waiting on a new fuse and am crossing my fingers it's that and not actually broken.

I seem to be back in the swing of things again. Looking forward to my first week weigh in tomorrow.

IfYouHappenToSee · 06/09/2017 07:52

Thanks, Pink, like I say, I'm not sure how 'true' all of it is, but then I have eaten really badly over the past few weeks so I think I'd probably have lost a couple of pounds just from stopping doing that as much as anything!!

I can't 'see' a difference yet...

Fingers crossed for your weigh in tomorrow!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/09/2017 08:00

Thanks pink
The tandoori chicken is really easy- I just mix a big tablespoon of tandoori powder into about two tbsp of Greek yoghurt. Chop up the chicken breasts or thigh filets (thighs are nicer imo) and mix it all in a bowl, cover it and leave it all day in the fridge. Then just oven bake it, until the chicken is cooked. So easy, even my kids love it as well.

Weighed myself this morning as I feel like I've lost weight this morning! 11.13.8 (so 5lb lost since Friday and a smidgen into the 11s!!) very chuffed with that.

It's day 6 for me, planning another day at 800 although yesterday I was rattling around in the evening and went over by having a bit of cheese and a few strawberries.

PinkBlossomTree · 06/09/2017 08:03

I'm the same as went a bit mad recently, it went on very quickly the reason I came back as my logic was it went on really quick so was hoping it would come off pretty quick too.

I did the same on round 1. I was doing 5:2 but took a weekend off and managed to put on 7lbs but lost that within the 1st week but continued to get good results, my body's got a nasty habit of a good week then no loss the next and it can get a bit disheartening.

IfYouHappenToSee · 06/09/2017 08:43

Haha, that was my logic too! Grin

APlaceOnTheCouch · 06/09/2017 09:41

Lots of great losses and well done on using the treadmill bear .I know that for me getting a treadmill and using it would be two different things Grin
Finished yesterday on 720 cals and 53g carbs. Avocado for breakfast; roast beef salad for lunch; tuna and pea fish pie for dinner.
I have my first golf lesson today - I'm easing myself gently into exercise Grin

Oblomov17 · 06/09/2017 09:49

Well done on all weight losses.
ToSee your 5.5 lb is fab!!
And Bear, your 5lb's is a lot !!

Bear, Your food always looks so nice. You know how much I, in particular, love meal photos. It inspires me ...

I am surprised how small your portions are though. Or rather, how big mine are. Maybe my portion control is way off?

I have lost 2lbs. But was hoping for more. I think I need to drink a lot more water aswell.

IfYouHappenToSee · 06/09/2017 09:54

I'm finding it easier to not eat breakfast (if I do, I'm starving by 10 and all I can think about its food Blush). And then to have a 300 cal lunch and a 500 cal meal in the evening.

Bit worried that i'm going away for the weekend. It's been booked for weeks. I can have scrambled eggs and mushrooms for breakfast, but the lure of the hash browns will be difficult to resist. And then just eating out generally..! Argh.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/09/2017 10:48

Oblov yes they are small aren't they, I always feel a bit like I could eat it all over again! But I don't know how to factor in all the components unless it's a small portion. Especially when things like cheese are so calorie heavy, there just isn't much bulk to spread it out is there?! Chicken/ meat I always feel a bit cheated when I weigh it- I love rib eye steak for example, but asda ones are 220g each and that works out at about 500 cals!! I have always had a big appetite as well, I can eat a lot and still have room for pudding so it's probably a good training exercise for me to have tiny portions.

OP posts:
JigglyTuff · 06/09/2017 11:11

That tandoori chicken recipe sounds lovely Bear! Being thick but is tandoori powder different from just curry powder?

I am also finally in the 11s which feels so much better than the 12s.

I tried on a pair of 30" waist trousers last night and I can get them done up - just! Before I started the BSD, I couldn't even get them up my thighs so my goal now is to get into those and then I will be a size 10-12 again which would make me very happy. I reckon another stone should do it.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/09/2017 11:16

Jiggly it's this one. I have also used other types of ready mixed seasoning, they all work well. There is a small amount of sugar in it- I'd never noticed that before, maybe other brands don't have sugar so might be worth checking the labels.

Oblomov17 · 06/09/2017 11:18

Ah, yes. Here-in lieth the problem, me thinks. Hmm
I weigh nothing. No meat or anything. I just eat what I want.
I scan the barcode of every single thing I eat, onto MFP, and guess-timate, how much I've eaten.

Can I be bothered to change the whole way I eat and live?
weigh everything?
It is all very consuming, this, isn't it?

I find this whole programme not only time consuming in that I'm constantly thinking about, it, checking, that i've entered everything into MFP, etc etc, but the actual f**king shopping for food, generally.

After expensive summer holidays and a big credit card bill, Dh and I decided we would have a mini competition, to see who can spend the least!! also, eat out of the freezer.

I opened up the fridge today, Practically nothing.

Enough to make a salad. For lunch at work. I rushed ds2 to school. I have nothing taken out of the freezer for tonights dinner.... Sad
