Oh forgot to add most important!

Weight: 13st

thenewaveragebear1983 · 31/08/2017 11:17

42 we have the same body! How bizarre!

IKEA definitely. If you stick to the plan. (That sounds like simple advice, but really, we all know someone me who doesn't really stick to it).
It's like AA- it works if you work it.

Oblo food looking good! What's the bean salad you have? I bought a tinned one the other day and it was horrible, but I do like a bit of something extra on my salad.

Oblomov17 · 31/08/2017 11:56

Bear -

Morrisons minted bean salad - from fresh /Coleslaw section.

I just needed to buy something a bit different because my salads were getting a bit boring.

The minty sauce was very nice.

ikea that's about 6 weeks. Most people lose at least one stone in the 8 weeks so it's definitely feasible that you'd lose one stone in time for your parties.

ikeadyounot · 31/08/2017 14:02

Oooh, this is good to know! Smile Thanks for the encouraging replies!

I'm going to do my measurements as soon as I'm recovered enough from the scales this morning to bear the blow to my ego Wink

tobee · 31/08/2017 17:51

Hi to new thread!

Due to start new 8 week stint tomorrow. It's 1st September, innit?

Smile
thenewaveragebear1983 · 31/08/2017 19:46

Yep tobee, I think there's a few of us all revved up and ready to start tomorrow. I'm having my last glass of wine tonight!

My dinner was a disappointment; I put the slow cooker on and had beef and onions in there all day, but it was dry and watery after 8 hours despite smelling amazing.
Had such a busy day today, cleaning my utility room while the kids played outside. Really productive day and very motivating. Feeling good for tomorrow. I think I'm going to fast til late lunch then have dinner as we have rib eye steaks tomorrow and they are calorie heavy.

Good luck everyone!

Dominos are evil. I'd promised DS he could have pizza tonight. Went in to order it and the assistant said it was buy one get one free. There was an immense battle between my love of a bargain and pizza and my commitment to BSD. Pizza won.

HerRoyalFattyness · 31/08/2017 20:42

random question for those who use MFP to track.
When you look at macros, what should I be aiming for % wise for carbs, fat and protein.

PinkBlossomTree · 31/08/2017 21:56

R2D1 was a success today. Actually came in at just under 500 calories as Thursday is always a FD for me since coming off BSD, it was too hard to break that habit so I went with it.

Will probably struggle like crazy tomorrow.

Aim for tomorrow is to start weighing out everything and using MFP again.

HerRoyalFattyness · 31/08/2017 22:00

Well as long as the goal is to stay under 50g of carbs and only have 800 cals I've smashed it.
Day 1 and the guys at work decided they were buying McDonalds. I resisted Grin
I've not long had my meal (I don't tend to eat during the day at work) and I am stuffed, and not craving shite like I usually do.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/09/2017 06:30

Today it's 1st September, first day of Autumn (apparently? I thought that was 21st, but hey) and 16 weeks til Christmas.

1lb a week = 16lb lighter
1.5lb a week= 24lb / 1 stone 10 lighter
2lb a week = 32lb/ 2 stone 4 lighter

That's a whopping SIX of these, and the weight of 6 house bricks. Who's with me????!!!!!!!

OP posts:
SpaghettiAlphabetti · 01/09/2017 06:46

bear I really want to be with you but 5 days of strict club and the scales still will not move.

It's driving me mad. Last Saturday wasn't a great day but since Sunday I haven't broken three figures calorie wise, have been to the gym twice and walked 9,000 steps twice.

I know I will have to stick with it but now it's another weekend and I have guests again and a night out tomorrow and Sunday.

SpaghettiAlphabetti · 01/09/2017 06:47

herroyal McDonalds is something I find easy to resist! My work are dreadful for rounds of thick toast mid morning just when you're feeling hungry!

The cafe in the entrance to the building was frying bacon on Wednesday! Bacon! Envy

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/09/2017 06:57

Spaghetti that's so annoying. There's a great explanation of the 'plateau' and why they happen, but I'll have to try to find it. Stick with it- it will work. It's rubbish when it happens though, this plan is so much harder when the scales don't cooperate

OP posts:
HerRoyalFattyness · 01/09/2017 07:14

My work are horrid for toast too. And domino's. They have "fat Friday" too, and order all sorts of food in. The boss has even been known to pay for it all.

HerRoyalFattyness · 01/09/2017 07:15

It doesn't help that it's a nursery and we are still overrun with chocolate from the children who have left.

Opah · 01/09/2017 07:28

I tried this yesterday but failed at late afternoon when I had a bread roll, then pasta, then chocolate Sad

Nakedavenger74 · 01/09/2017 07:32

Please don't give up @SpaghettiAlphabetti. I lost a lot put on a bit then plateaued and lost a shit load after the plateau. Give it at least another week. You know it works.

If anything lower the carbs. Try for under 30g. Up the good fat. Aim for just meat or fish and leafy green veg. Cut out carb heavy stuff like pulses or fruit and see how you go in a few days.

ikeadyounot · 01/09/2017 09:12

Morning all!

Without going into graphic detail and ruining your breakfasts, it's not around your time of the month is it spaghetti? When I dieted successfully before, I used to find that I could NOT shift weight just before/at the start of my period, but that I would suddenly lose 2-4lb in a day just as it was finishing. My explanation is that I was still losing weight during the 9 days or so this occurred, but that it was being masked by water retention - and when this resolved, my 'real' weight showed up again. Even though I knew the pattern, every time it happened I did freak out a little.

Scales were 2lb lighter this morning than yesterday! Of course, it's not weight I've lost at this point (1 day in!) but water and, ahem, waste. But I feel lighter and sparkier. Confession though: I didn't manage the 800 calories or anything near - more like 1200-1300 and I had bread and a small amount of pasta. But I did do the first part of C25K (2.5 miles walking/running) and another 2.5 mile walk, so I probably exercised around 400 calories off. I know I need to be more disciplined, but I feel like I made a start.

MsRinky · 01/09/2017 10:45

Hello all, can I join you? I have been doing 5:2 since the beginning of the year and have lost 45 pounds, but my non-fast days have gradually been getting greedier, and so I have decided that super-strict September is for me.

I usually do 750 calorie fast days, so am quailing at the thought of 800 calories day in day out. I also still have 55 pounds to lose, so am thinking that aiming for 900 and counting 1000 calories as a win is a more realistic aim for me.

DomesticDisgrace · 01/09/2017 13:55

Hi all! Can I join in too?
I'm going on hols in a few weeks (all inclusive Blush) so I had planned to use up all the VLCD shakes I have between now and then and start this when I return but I'm so immersed in researching it and getting really excited about the prospect of getting started (plus the thoughts I of doing even one day on shakes 😪)

I haven't found the book yet, will have to order online, so until then can you guys guide me a bit?

Today I'm thinking: Tuna with some cheddar cheese, but of mayo (all counted) and silver skin pickled onions? Weird one but I love it! All mixed in a bowl!
Then later on 2 poached eggs with a small salad of cucumber and cherry toms (though I'm dubious these will be allowed)

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/09/2017 14:14

Any courgette recipes? My MIL just brought me this round. Seriously???!!
