Bacon and courgette sounds good. Courgette cheesecake? Not so good! Thanks though, I will try some of those!

Currently rattling round the kitchen. It's taken me over calories but I had a pear and a piece of cheese, because quite frankly I could eat the whole cupboard if I didn't have something! Dinner time seems a long way off!

I know if I give up they will definitely move in the wrong direction!

ikea no. There isn't any reason I can think of. It's just a bit demotivating. A 2lb loss for you is ace though!

Hopefully bear is right and I'll come out the other side of the static scales to a loss.

I've even put my two stone DS on them to check they are working. 😂

Fat Friday... that sounds like my work herroyal. All spearheaded by skinny people of course! Along with the two o'clock biscuit run of course!

I've got two nights out this weekend and I'm so easily led. I'm not sure how they will go but aside from that I'll stick with it as best I can over the weekend and there are no 'night out' barriers for ages after that.

WI today. I've lost 6.2lbs since I came back from my holidays. Being back in the school/office routine definitely seems to be helping.
We don't have any plans for this weekend. I can't decide if that's a positive or negative.

Domestic tomatoes are allowed!

I've really struggled this week with late evening snacks. No idea why, but as it's the first I'm committing to 'Strictember' and am going to try my hardest to hit 800. At the worst I want to stay under 1000 a day.

Of course, I now want wine...

If this diet doesn't work then I give up.
I'm on day 2, and as I don't eat until my evening meal anyway, I'm really struggling to hit 800 cals. So I'm eating less than that.
(most of my cals came from fizzy drinks and biscuits!)

HerRoyalFattyness · 01/09/2017 21:25

oh and I'm stuffed. none of that hunger for crisps or biscuits that I used to get.
Though I think Sunday will be a struggle. We are going to the farm, and they have home made ice cream. I'm going to have one if I feel like it then I'm not longing for it,but still track it.

Domestic - what VLCD were you on? I've done a few in the past. Well I actually do them annually loose 2-3 stone then pile the lbs back on.

When I did this the first time in May, and starting at a lower weight than I've ever been when doing the shakes, I've found it by far the most successful weight wise but also mentally as you get to have food and it's lovely. I have a huge pile of products still but the thought of them again just makes me Envy.

I've had the carb withdrawal headache this afternoon/ evening but had my dinner and a tablet and feel loads better too.

Finished today on 783 cals and 26g carbs.

I was dreading returning to 800 cals but I honestly think of you use them wisely 800 cals is quite a lot of food.

I had quite a random tea of turkey cauliflower tomato and a boiled egg but it was really filling.

flighty thank you!

pink that's exactly what I needed to hear, it's so easy to fall back into VLCD time and time again because no other weight loss usually compares (though it teaches us nothing about food and our relationship with it so always end up regaining!)
Delighted to hear you've found the losses on a par if not better (after so many years fecking around with VLCDs I found it very hard to stay on track so the losses weren't that great anyway) I did everything from Slim and Savr to Exante to Lipotrim (shudder!!)

Day 1 competed and I feel amazing! Ending on bang on 800 (had half a slice of cheese to bump it up to be precise Grin)

I get the carb headache, but not bad and have been seeing it off with water for now.
Just made a meal plan for next week so feeling positive.

So not a good start. I had wine tonight. This is because (get ready for lame excuse) I'm invited out tomorrow night and thought "may as well actually start Monday. Monday is a better day anyway."

I'm feeling really good despite the headache.
When I weighed Thursday morning I was 15st 11. This morning I'm 15st 6!

HerRoyal - bloody hell that is AMAZING. if you still have a bad head drink some water and take a few tables and it should pass soon.

Domestic - that's exactly how I feel. I never go through the steps properly and end up knowing nothing about nutrition as I've been in a constant SW / Cambridge / other VLCD trap.

This is fabulous as you do learn about calories / nutrition and what fills you up.

I found coming straight of this onto 5:2 superb and combining it with 16:8 worked a absolute dream.

I've had a couple of weeks of being a complete piggy and consuming everything in sight but a brief stint on this will sort it out.

Day 2 and 3lbs down.

HerRoyal 5lbs is a brilliant loss - well done!

bear congrats on the new treadmill. Look at how shiny it is! In our house, it would soon end up covered with superhero stickers and random ribbons with a kindle or book balanced on the top
Wishing you lots of luck and energy to use it I seem to have turned into my mum she always wishes people health to enjoy their new purchases Grin

Hi all Smile
Plodding along on 1st week best effort behaviour and managing ok food wise. Am going to have to mix up the breakfasts a bit as have had Greek yog every morning so far! I do enjoy eggs for breakfast though so will do that soon. Am weighing myself each morning which I've never done before but plan to take weekly losses into account overall. Having said that the scales say 3.2kg down since last Monday so I'm delighted with that result. Really trying hard to drink plenty too. I do need to do some weighing and measuring for MFP as most of my amounts are guess work at the moment. I managed to sync my Fitbit with MFP but not sure they're still talking to each other at the moment. Finding this thread very inspiring and loads of great food ideas and tips.

Planning to join in too ideally tomorrow but if not then wed once the children are back out school!

Welcome everyone there have been some FANTASTIC losses! Oblomov I am so with you on the tiredness thing, annoyingly I often feel worse on more sleep.

Pink your losses on your round 1 would be my dream scenario for my pre Christmas slim down.

Had 3 days away and only half a pound up but I am giving my self one more day on holiday mode which could spell disaster.

thanks. Obviously most of that will be water. But still, I'm happy Grin
Headache seems to be easing a bit now. I'm drinking loads of water.
I've been shopping. Resisted the temptation of doughnuts, and am really looking forward to my tea.
Warm chorizo and pepper salad. I found the recipe online and have tweaked it as I don't like butter beans.
I won't be eating until about 8pm though, as then I'm less likely to snack through the night.

PoppyCat - I didn't do anything special to achieve that, actually I never planned to do the full 8 weeks I just wanted to kick start my weight loss but got so into it and amazed at the great losses I kept with it.

Just kept to the limit of 800 cals a day and kept myself under 30g carbs and used MFP and scales religiously.

I came offf plan for 2 unavoidable events a wedding evening reception and a christening and got straight back on the next day.

HerRoyal that's great about the headache. And a loss is still a loss but my god that is a AMAZING loss.

I've decided to embark on this 'diet' from tomorrow.

I skim read a few of the earlier threads and bought/read the book on Thursday.

I already get the science behind it, I think the only question I really have is how many carbs should I be aiming for during the 8 weeks?

I can see the opening posts say aim for under 50g and someone upthread is aiming for under 30g.

And am I right in thinking that as long as I track the carbs and don't go over the limit, then including carbs (like bulgar wheat) is fine?

Thanks x

Oh, and I'll add my measurements later, when the children are in bed and I can weigh/measure myself and retain some dignity...

Actually, might weigh myself in the morning...

Edit I miss typed my post
