Sunshine, yes it did indeed have some carbs, quite a few actually for the Giant cous-cous I assume.

Well done Bear.

I have been batch cooking. Cauliflower curry. Celeriac mash. Palak paneer.

All tasty.

Oblomov that looks so tasty and filling. You've reminded me of how much I like cauliflower mash. I got out of the habit of making it because we had been using up frozen cauliflower and even when defrosted, it never mashed as well as fresh cauliflower. I'll need to remember to buy some this weekend.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 03/11/2017 18:17

Thanks!
I've never seen anything like it in my entire life. Seriously. Imagine your house if you never threw anything away for 3 years. I'm emotionally traumatised! There will be wine tonight, much much wine.

OP posts:
msbossy · 04/11/2017 09:13

I've been lurking for ages Blush
Managed to lose 10lb in 5 weeks. Not dramatic for BSD but better than I've managed on any other diet. Had a tough half-term and a bit disorganised this week but back on it now. Even avoided a hot dog at bonfire last night.

Bear - I'm glad your friend has you to help! And thank you for the thread.

wigwaminamustardmill · 04/11/2017 10:19

8 lb off for me this week! I’ve been super strict and it’s only week 1. You lot have given me some great ideas 😁

APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 05/11/2017 09:49

Brilliant loss Wigwam Star
I was on a course yesterday. I didn't have enough to eat or drink then over-compensated when I got home. Fireworks tonight but I may make BSD friendly food first.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/11/2017 19:35

That's great wigwam, well done.

I'm having a rubbish week. I'm not even going to pretend I even tried today!

I need to give my head a shake and try for a few good weeks before Christmas, otherwise by January if I keep this madness up, I'll probably be a stone heavier! Kids are poorly, Ds still throwing the odd night of waking up in just to keep us on our toes (although has actually slept through a few times lately), clocks changing has really thrown me and I keep waking up at 5.00- all good valid excuses. But I'm basically being lazy and that's why I'm eating crap and not exercising. So please, please kick me up the bum!

OP posts:
APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 08/11/2017 19:24

bear lack of sleep is a killer. You have all my sympathies. From a motivation pov, you will probably feel better and have more energy if you eat well . . . but that's as much of a kick up the bum as I can muster because it would feel hypocritical to say anything else Grin
I lost 0.8lbs last week Hmm DH has been bringing me in breakfast in the morning so I've gone from only eating lunch and dinner to only eating breakfast and dinner. It'll be interesting to see if that different eating window has any impact.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/11/2017 19:37

I'm just starting every day with great intentions and then by lunchtime I'm off the wagon! Don't know what's got into me at the moment, but I do also feel generally stressy and shite in all areas of life so BSD is just another hurdle to jump. Think I'm going to muddle through this week, skive off our friends 40th on Saturday if I can't find anything to fit me, and then on Monday resume strict club and life-sorting-out with renewed gusto.

5 (?) weeks to Christmas? 6? I should know this..... But 5 weeks is a good enough block to lose a bit if I focus. We have surprisingly few Christmas functions this year, which is actually nice for a change, as it won't be the usual 3 week whirlwind of canapés and alcohol....

OP posts:
APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 09/11/2017 11:30

bear it's rubbish when life is stressful. But if you look at these threads, you've achieved so much this year and dealt with so much - all the house issues, decorating, the DCs not sleeping, etc.I think by this time of year, everything we powered through in the rest of the year suddenly catches up with us. Be kind to yourself Flowers Maybe the party on Saturday would be a good opportunity to blow off some steam.

Oblomov17 · 09/11/2017 15:11

I don’t even have Bear’s excuse of stress or lack of sleep. I keep eating crisps, Oreo biscuits and snack packs of maltesers. I don’t even have a reason. I’m sure I’ve put on quite a lot. I haven’t weighed.
I was aiming for my friends birthday boat party next week. I might need to consider going back to one of my old bigger dresses. oh dear.

APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 11/11/2017 17:25

Oblomov fingers crossed that your scales pleasantly surprise you. A birthday boat party sounds lovely. Have fun whatever you decide to wear.
I've lost the 4lbs that I put on during my weekend away at the end of Oct but I'm not sure how sustainable it is since at least I seem to be losing and gaining this same 4lbs over and over again.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/11/2017 09:29

Started the day well with avocado, cheese and ham. My only aim is to get back my mojo, so I'm not calorie counting and haven't weighed myself. Going to dm's for lunch and to pick the dc up, so my plans could all go drastically wrong!

OP posts:
APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 12/11/2017 20:01

Accidentally went over today by having some chocolate cake and cream. DH offered it and I ate it without a thought Blush
But I've been on track this week so am averaging about 870 per day overall.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/11/2017 21:29

You're doing well place!

Tomorrow. I have great high hopes for tomorrow being the dawn of some new, thin, BSD era......

OP posts:
wigwaminamustardmill · 12/11/2017 23:25

2lb off this week, a bit disappointing considering I haven’t cheated once! I’m hoping for a better loss next week.
I am feeling better though and definitely slimmer. 2 week’s down, 4 to go.

APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 13/11/2017 10:11

Well done wigwam ! It is amazing how quickly you start to feel better on BSD. Despite all my ups and downs, I still feel much better than when I started.
TOTM so anything could happen with my weight this week. When I started BSD my weight always went up just before then came down by 1lb or so. But this time I lost before TOTM then went up 1lb this morning.

wigwaminamustardmill · 13/11/2017 11:35

Thanks Place I know weight does fluctuate but I really feel I should be seeing my efforts on the scales more than I am.
I don’t seem to feel hungry though and I’m not really craving anything despite having not had anything sweet for over 2 weeks, although I did have a dream about pizza 🤣

thenewaveragebear1983 · 14/11/2017 16:26

Hi all, just checking in really. I'm not doing too brilliantly right now. Maintaining seems to about the best I can do right now! At least I'm maintaining I guess. My meals are all good but I'm grazing terribly and feeling rubbish for it.

I have a job interview tomorrow and although it's not a massive deal, I hope it will boost my mood a little bit. It's for some ad hoc exam invigilator Sessions and hopefully will give me that little nudge back into teaching one day, so while it's not exactly the career of my life, I will likely be glad in the future that I did it. Plus a bit of pocket money too, which I really need. I have no idea what to wear! I have some smart trousers (somewhere) so just praying they still fit!!

OP posts:
wigwaminamustardmill · 15/11/2017 04:22

Maintaining is great Bear! Best of luck with the interview 🙂

APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 15/11/2017 07:45

Sending you lots of positive interview vibes bear - good luck!

wigwam remember to check your measurements too. Sometimes when weight loss slows on BSD, you're losing inches instead.

My task for this week is to try to get back into the habit of healthy snacks eg sugar snap peas; mange tout; almonds. I've managed it so far but we are only on Wed.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 15/11/2017 12:02

Thanks! I'm very nervous considering it's hardly some high powered career interview. I've not had an interview since 2009 so I'm a bit rusty....

My new jeans arrived today (well, eBay, so new to me). They fit, but not exceptionally comfortably, so I reckon a half stone off they'll be perfect. I like having a target pair as it keeps me motivated, in theory.

OP posts:
APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 15/11/2017 13:10

bear when I first lost weight, I bought new jeans. But I've gradually reverted to wearing my old jeans even though they are now baggy on me. They're much more comfy!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 15/11/2017 13:14

Place my favourite ones have been worn to threads unfortunately. And their replacement got some hair dye on them, which I bleached out, but now have bleached marks on them. I am rubbish at fashion evidently! Don't you just hate jeans shopping- they never feel as comfy as the old crusty pair, even if eventually they'll be perfect. Unfortunately I live in jeans so I have this ongoing battle with them. Woe is me!

OP posts:
APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 15/11/2017 13:19

bear I feel your pain. I need to buy some work trousers but I hate 'smart' trouser shopping even more than jeans shopping so I've been putting it off. If anyone has any suggestions for smart work trousers for women with hips then let me know . . .
