Just wanted to share, I was 102.5 kgs on Tuesday and now I’m 101 😁. Hoping to get below the 100 by next weekend. I was considering having a glass of wine later but this has given me the boost to say no. I start week 4 tomorrow. According to the doctor I was 105.2 at the end of August so I am feeling more positive today. Im not thinking about the fact that I really need to lose about 40 kgs altogether and am going to take it one kg at a time. Let’s hope that at the end of the 8 weeks, I can come off the metformin as it plays havoc with my stomach. Although this has been a lot better since cutting out the carbs.

RamsayBoltonsConscience · 01/10/2017 13:03

Also meant to say that to lose 1lb you have to have a deficit of 3500 calories so to lose 3lb you have cut out 10, 500 calories!!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/10/2017 17:16

Ramsey that's great. I found metformin gave me terrible stomach problems when I had gestational diabetes, I think it's quite a common side effect. It would be fab if you could get off them in the 8 weeks, what an achievement!

Feel crappy today- sluggish, bored, demotivated, tired. Ate toast for lunch. Think strict club is starting tomorrow instead! I hate that 'meh' feeling. Dh cooking pie from the Jamie book and I'm not going to cook my own BSD compatible dinner, as he very rarely makes anything!

Sorry I've not chipped in for ages. As ever, I read the thread but rarely take the the time to add to it. Apologies. But I just wanted to say to Bear, especially, you're so bloody amazing at keeping this all going. I know the lbs seem to only slowly decrease but you take the time to post, and are so wonderful and encouraging to everyone else and the fact that you keep coming back to it I'm sure will mean it pays off in the end. So it's slow, but it is definitely happening. 3lbs off is better than 3lbs on. Please don't loose heart. Please keep on, even if only for the sake of the rest of us 😊. Sometimes I'm hanging on your every word! Your encouragement keeps me going.
On August 29th I was 11.4, I'm now 10.10. This time last year I was a stone less so I've a way to go. But I wil get there! And so will you.
Tomorrow is mega strict club for me. I'll be on a beach in 7 days so hoping for 3lb off this week 🤔.
Come on everyone, chins up, forks down!x

SpaghettiAlphabetti · 01/10/2017 19:13

Well done Ramsey.

Couch it was an amazing night but I've paid for it. Predictably 'can't eat a thing' gave way to a massive appetite. Putting that behind me now and getting on with strict club.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 01/10/2017 22:07

I'm living vicariously through you 😉
In my RL it has been one disaster after another since Thursday. The only upside is that I am so stressed that I have lost my appetite. Plus I still have a stomach bug so it's likely I will lose this week but in a completely unsustainable way.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 02/10/2017 08:01

Place Flowershope you are ok?

Ok, line drawn, September officially over and October weigh in done. It's a big number! I'm hiding the scales for a week or so- they've not been my friend last month so I'm ignoring them and focussing on my food and my clothes.

Back to basics today- coffee this morning, lots of water, salad lunch, chicken something for dinner with lots of veg. Run. All good.

Have a great week everyone!

APlaceOnTheCouch · 02/10/2017 09:06

Thanks for the Flowers bear
I honestly don't even have the energy to type out everything that has gone wrong in the last few days but a top line summary would be:I'm ill; DS is ill and in trouble at school; DH had a minor accident. It's also TOTM so that isn't helping me to keep a sense of perspective. I'm the person in our family who manages and resolves everything, and I'm just struggling with it all atm. After our meetings and appointments today, I'll try an early night and some trashy TV to see if it makes me feel better.

JigglyTuff · 02/10/2017 11:26

Flowers Place - that sounds very tough indeed. Hope things pick up this week.

I haven't weighed myself (my scale needs new batteries) but I on Strict Club this week. I know that once I get into the groove, I keep going. It's the couple of days here followed by a couple of days off that is just very hard not to just go 'fuck it' and eat all the things.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 02/10/2017 17:36

Here's my dinner:
Pizza topped turkey steaks with goats cheese and basil, and a sort of avocado mush salad with coriander and lemon and mayo. Was so tasty!

Hopefully that's day 1 done, although I'm tutoring tonight which I hate and that always makes me a bit wanty in the evening.

Hope your day went well place and enjoy your trashy tv. Dh and I have been watching dci Banks on demand, if that's your type of thing? Not too strenuous, not too gorey, easy enough watching.

couch I'm sorry things are hard right now. I hope things start to resolve themselves over the next few days.

What is it about dieting that makes you want to eat random things? I've done ok today but have thought a lot about chip shop chips and digestive biscuits. Neither of these items feature regularly in my usual vice list.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 03/10/2017 11:04

Some things I've bought today to try:
Paneer (Indian cheese) to do a vege curry. Says it must be cooked, does anyone know why? Obv it will be, but I just wondered!
Also: asda butchers selection pre prepped meals, this time Thai green chicken. I am just going to Bung in the freezer as I bought them reduced and keep them as emergency 'safe' meals.
And finally these, men's health pork and beans sausages. Pork and haricot beans actually inside the sausages. I think they have a very small amount of rice starch as an ingredient, but no sugar

(It says a lot really- women's diet products are all low fat, high sugar; men's diet products are all high protein and high fibre. We don't stand a chance do we???!!!)

Finishing on 1,081 which isn't amazing but better than I have been doing recently.

ICJump · 03/10/2017 21:14

Oh that irks me about the sausages

Starting today. I'm 114.8. I'd like to be under 100 by Christmas. Is that crazy?
Breastfast roasted tomato and egg.

And 2 coffees with milk.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 03/10/2017 21:37

Me too spaghetti , I've closed the kitchen now but was on about 1000 cals and 54g carbs. I had a slow cooked lamb curry for tea which was delicious, but it was cooked with loads of beans. I don't really eat them often so it always surprises me how high the carbs go when I eat beans. It was sort of stolen from Jamie Oliver's book with a few tweaks.

Welcome ICJump I recognise your name from another thread? Good luck. Hope your first day has gone well!

OP posts:
JigglyTuff · 03/10/2017 22:41

Not crazy at all ICJump! I have lost 11 since I started (and most of that was in 8 weeks when I lost 10). If you do strict club, you will definitely shift 14 or 15 by Xmas I reckon :)

Hope today has gone well for you too.

I'm in the groove. I've been eating crustless quiches for lunch which I got off the MFP blog and are about 240 calories for 2 and are lovely with some spinach wilted by a quick nuke in the microwave. I also found chili 1 cal Fry Light oil in Aldi which is fab.

Changed the batteries in the scales and they still don't work (isn't it weird that word is still plural) so I'm trying to use my crap one where the whole dial goes round and I can't read it without my glasses on! Maybe I'll treat myself to a new digital scale (probably find I'm 10 lbs heavier than I think I am)

Oblomov17 · 04/10/2017 07:10

Hi everyone. Back from majorca. I have put on 4lbs. This is hardly surprising, because for 4 consecutive days I consumed nearly 4000 calories with endless pina colada’s, mojitos, daiquiri’s etc.
Blush
Back on it, as of today.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/10/2017 07:27

Welcome back oblomov! Hope you had a great time?

ICJump · 04/10/2017 07:32

Thanks for the kind wishes.

Bear I was on the weight loss thread where several of us got accused of libel.

Today has gone well although I snuck in a 3rd fish cake at dinner.

I'm feeling tired and light headed and would love an early night but have a phone call about pensions at about 9pm.

ICJump · 04/10/2017 07:37

I'm closing the kitchen on 855 calories which is pretty good o think given I was having around 4000.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/10/2017 08:20

Aaah yes. The libel thread. Happy days.
I can assure you ICJump that nothing that exciting happens here. We're all vair vair civilised.

Going to walk into town today on this lovely crisp autumn day, to the library and to buy some leggings (which must be a good sign as it means I'm potentially considering wearing skirts and tights/leggings instead of jeans!) Littke ds is into his 3rd consecutive week of snot and he's wingeing already, so we absolutely must get out of the house for the sake of our my sanity.

Lunch today, courtesy of Jamie, is hot smoked salmon frittata with salad, and dinner is chicken with a peanut butter sauce. Can't wait!!

What happened Re the libel case? Sounds very exciting. ‘Fraid it’s much more tame, here.
