Haha oblomov it was one of those MLM pyramid things called 'sugar me down' or something and someone posted under 2 user names once asking a question and then answering their own question with a big sales pitch. Obviously in true MN style we all called this woman out on her trickery, to which she responded she was going to sue them for libel. I didn't get the libel email, I felt quite left out and then HQ swooped in and extinguished it. As they will probably do now to this post!! Nothing to see here, move along people.....

Ending the day on 937 cal and 56 carbs. Only 6g fibre though- that's not very much is it? Walked a reasonable distance today. I didn't cook any of my menu- best laid plans and all that- as I grazed at lunch and then had mince needing used at dinner so had that with the dc instead. Peanut chicken moved to tomorrow.

I have realised today that I am addicted to my scales. About 8 times at least I have thought 'I'll just weigh myself' and haven't (obviously, because no one in their right mind weighs at any other time than first thing in the morning), but because i have hidden them it's as if my subconscious was almost craving them. How weird. It's like when i gave up smoking! In the morning I've just been drinking a pint of water straight away so I'm not tempted to hop on for a quick 'check', but it's surprised me how many times during the day I've found myself thinking of weighing myself. I really think I should get out more, or at the very least, start socialising with people who aren't two year olds.

Good day everyone? I went through all the weightloss chat boards yesterday to try to drum up some more posters by linking anyone asking questions about BSD to this thread. Stalker? Me? Noooooo.

1,195 which is not good at all. 325 was a beautiful little cupcake in its own little box that a colleague gave to me. I couldn't say no as it was a kind gesture to say thank you for something small I'd done for her.

It was AMAZING.

Interesting re scales bear because on the one hand I find I put on weight when I'm not dieting and I ignore them and it all gets out of control. On the other hand nothing makes me think 'fuck it' more than trying really hard and seeing the scales go up by 1lb or so.

SpaghettiAlphabetti · 04/10/2017 19:58

oblomov jealous of your holiday. Your gain will come off quickly and sounds like you enjoyed yourself!

ICJump · 04/10/2017 20:56

Well 2 kilos down already! Pretty bloody pleased.

Today's breaky is yoghurt seeds and berries. It wasn't as tasty as the egg and tomato yesterday.

Lunch is humous and veggies.
Dinner Thai curry.

I'm using the BSD cookbook and trying to follow it exactly although we don't eat pork so having to do a few switches

Oblomov17 · 05/10/2017 12:14

Well done IC!

Dh made me lunch for Work. Good man!!

Well done IC and oblo your salad looks delicious.

Feeling rotten today. Exhausted. Is this carb-flu maybe? It hasn't been helped by having to wait in for a delivery which didn't arrive til 2.00, so was very cooped up indoors. Once it came I set out with ds to go to the park, he promptly fell asleep so now I'm sat in a little local cafe drinking a decaf latte while he sleeps. I'll regret it tonight when he's disco dancing at bedtime!

I'm doing 'gnarly peanut chicken' from Jamie's book tonight, Dh is away with work so just me and the dc. Still not weighed myself, I'm actually a bit scared to as I feel like I'm going well but last month I did too and didn't lose anything!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 05/10/2017 17:23

Forgot to add these- individual crustless quiches with salmon and goats cheese. Supposed to be for lunch tomorrow but I can sense a few might go for quality control.....

oblo that looks nice. DH moans like anything if he has to make salad. Says it's too much chopping. Hmm

I'm doing very well today. Scales showed a small loss this morning and I've been to gym and walking a lot. Currently on 795 and my fitness tracker tells me I've burnt 746 calories!

Think I will have two squares of dark chocolate with a cup of tea later.

Going to screenshot it exercise tracker as it rarely looks like this!

Your picture has just appeared bear. They look lovely but not how I expected them to look. What are they made of?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 05/10/2017 18:10

They are just a Tin of salmon divided into the bottom of a muffin tray, about a tsp in each. Then I did 6 eggs, a blob of creme fraiche and salt and pepper and just poured it over, with a little chunk of goats cheese on the top. Bake for about 10 mins. They are a bit fluffy for a quiche, they are more like muffins I guess.

My peanut chicken was immense. Absolutely scrummy. I have just had some defrosted raspberries with creme fraiche on the top as a little pudding. I didn't buy Greek yogurt this week in a bit to avoid temptation, but this was delicious as a treat.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 05/10/2017 21:29

Ending the day way over at 1400 cals, 49 g carbs (10g fibre). Not brilliant, but I think as I have now done 4 days low carb/sugar free I've been in the full throes of detox, and was too knackered and frazzled by ds to be strong. I haven't had anything too awful though, just too much.

I struggle with lunches, so end up grazing, so tomorrow I have my little quiches ready to go.

OP posts:
ICJump · 05/10/2017 21:31

Oh the quiches look amazing and sound really tasty.

Another 1.4 kilos down!!!
Yesterday was really hard. Was at home by myself and was just frustrating with some volunteer stuff I do. I cried.

Then the lovely dinner was totally rejected by small children. Then I shouted at bed time.

I've been having a fair bit of coffee so I'll try and cut that down next week

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/10/2017 08:08

4lb down this morning, mid week weigh in. Considering I've been over on calories every day that's not too bad. Although does prove my scales addiction is a real and present threat. Must hide them better.....

IC it's dropping off you! Well done.

Weekend looming. I always feel s but ominous about the weekend because I know my willpower wanes and there's too much temptation wine . Today though, I have a child free day and night. I had great plans to do boring but functional chores but d'you know what? I'm going to scrap that and do nice things instead. I'm so exhausted recently and feel like i haven't had a minute to myself, so I'm going to have a nice chilled out day.

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/10/2017 19:55

Dinner: ribeye steak, mushrooms cooked in garlic with creme fraiche, and rocket.

4lbs is great bear
Only 200 grams off today but all up that 3.6 kilos.

I had seconds last night which isn't great.

Breakfast this morning was porridge. Followed by a slow walk but MFP says the walk used 700 calories???
Waiting for the roast chicken to cook for lunch.

I Also had two slices of turkey after the walk.

I'm not sure if I should use MFP or as I'm using the 8 week plan from the recipe book I should just chill

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/10/2017 09:07

I'm another 3 down this morning, now 11st9.5lb. Bit of a whoosh!

If you're following the book exactly them I suppose you should just chill, but some of the calories totals are a bit inaccurate in the UK versions. I've never followed the menu plan that rigidly so I always use a tracker, although not MFP. In practice, despite the values being wrong for some recipes in the book, people have still have the same weightlosses using the book menu.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 07/10/2017 14:29

Thanks for all the Flowers and kind wishes. DS and DH are both fine now. I'm feeling much better and happier.
bear well done on the whoosh! That's a great motivator!
I've just checked back to mid-August which was when I was at my post-holiday heaviness. I've lost 8.8lbs since then so I'm now in my target weight range and only 3lbs over the lowest I've been on BSD (which was just before Easter). I'd like to lose that extra 3lbs but realistically if I can maintain at this level, it'll be a miracle I'll be happy.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/10/2017 15:47

Hi place glad you're feeling better.

Just seen this on Facebook- finally, a BSD friendly advent calendar!

Wow - those are great losses bear!

I have no idea as my scales are broken. I was going to ask for new ones for Xmas but I don't think I can wait that long. I'm wearing a skirt and tights today for the first time since starting BSD and 1) my skirt is annoyingly big and 2) my tights are so comfortable! They aren't digging in and the crotch is actually by my fanny rather than trying to crawl down to my knees.

I saw this on a low carb thread earlier which is really useful veg carb guide and I have shamelessly stolen it Blush : www.dropbox.com/s/98zyusro0f0uelg/Low%20Carb%20Cheat%20Sheet.pdf?dl=0

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/10/2017 19:23

Hi everyone, hi jiggly, good to see you back.

Busy weekend here, haven't calorie counted at all and yesterday ended up being a bit of a cheat day as Dh made the Jamie chocolate mousse which obviously had to be eaten. Major calories. (As an aside, if we assume for these purposes that dark chocolate is 'allowed' in moderate quantities as a treat, then the mousse could easily be replicated without sugar- it's just eggs, cream and chocolate. It did 6 huge bowls (we used little glasses) but could easily have done 10 or 12 smaller portions, padded out with fresh raspberries or strawberries. Really delicious.)

Today we have walked in the woods and had cooked brunch and then roast chicken tikka style for dinner, with roast cauli. All on plan, but over the calories again. As a result I think I'll have regained a bit from my weigh in yesterday, but hopefully should see an overall loss for the week.

Week ahead looking good, although I'm planning to use freezer supplies for the bulk of our meals- I have enough portioned for me X 5 days, and Dh and the kids can have the same (or some kind of breadcrumb covered trotters or beak based products like turkey dinosaurs!)

Hope everyone's ok? V quiet in here at the moment so if you're lurking, please do comment to keep the thread alive. If you're struggling there's so much help and support in here if you need it so please do just ask!

Feeling deflated this morning.

I've put in 200g which is nothing really but I feel cross with myself.

I went to kids birthday in the morning and didn't eat anything and then last night I had 2 portions worth of dinner and had cheese and almonds while watching telly. It's like I used my willpower all up :(

But today I'm going to strict. Add stuff to MFP as I go to help me recognise how much I have left. Also going to a boxing class this morning.

geeup · 08/10/2017 21:52

Hi bear thought I'd come out of the lurking as you asked so kindly! I've been following for a while. I'm trying to lose about 10kg of what I call "ttc" weight (have been trying unsuccessfully to have a baby for 2 and a bit years and starting third ivf cycle end of Nov). Am doing a loose version of the BSD (I aim for 1200 calories instead of 800 as I simply can't function on that few). I was doing well - lost 2 and a bit kg in my first week but fell off the wagon this weekend and put on one of those kg again. Am trying to run 3 times a week (only 4K, building up to 5k) as well.
Am ok when I'm not doing anything socially but find it impossible when I'm eating it with work etc. Trying not to obsess but that's the only way it works isn't it!!
Anyway you seem like a lovely bunch and I'm going to try and stick with you until xmas if you'll have me!!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 09/10/2017 09:13

Hi gee up , welcome! Sorry to hear your TTC struggles, everything crossed for your attempt in November. Flowers

Weigh in today: 11.12.6 (after a cheat day this weekend!)
Last week 12.3 so that 4.5lb off? Happy with that. 6.5lb off in total so far.

I really want to clock up a few 800 cals days this week. I didn't actually manage a single one last week, so that loss is purely down to carb reduction. Off to national trust with friends and dc today so hopefully lots of walking but also must resist the cakes (although they do do cheese scones which I suppose is a sugar free option, even if not technically on plan!)

Have a good week everyone

geeup · 09/10/2017 09:24

Oh that sounds like a nice day bear! Im travelling up north for work so will have hundreds of temptations to avoid! Am hoping to get to the hotel gym but not sure if it'll be shut when I arrive.
Had half a small avocado for breakfast with an egg and some seeds. 70.1kg after my short run this morning. Excited for the week ahead!
