Seems I managed to fill the other thread with talk of taking fridges to away galas! And I didnt even mean a fridge I meant an electric cool box Grin So I've started another thread. Hope you all find it.

OP posts:

Not para! They've not released them yet! I've been checking daily for a week hoping they'd be sorted by close of qualifying window!

Glittertwins · 10/05/2022 04:39

I am at a loss to explain why his LC times were converted to an SC time when regionals always go LC.
I could understand it if he hadn't got an LC time to go off. It can be a little demoralising when they swim slower than than their entry time even if it turns out to be a SC conversion PB.

itsgettingweird · 10/05/2022 06:08

Agree glitter ds has this with his 400 every time. He's knocked 20 seconds off his LC time since December when he re set it from before LD! (That was 9 secs quicker than his time then too)

But it always uses his SC conversion - he's still 6 secs off that 🤣🤣🤣

Think ours uses whatever is quickest but does seem to disadvantage those who only have a LC time.

Glittertwins · 10/05/2022 10:14

Ours definitely used whatever was faster. All his freestyle times are faster LC than SC now

itsgettingweird · 10/05/2022 16:18

Ds 50/100m free are too 🤣🤣🤣

Hellocatshome · 10/05/2022 17:48

Oh dont get me started on them using converted SC times! I've had to apologise to DS on numerous occasions over the two weekends with me thinking he hadn't PB'd only to find out that he had 🙈

Glittertwins · 10/05/2022 18:00

@Hellocatshome - it's when he already has the conversion tool up on the phone to prove it was a PB...

Madcats · 10/05/2022 22:50

Surely Nationals convert/use the best time?

It's a tick box exercise for clubs submitting times, but I assumed that faster ents checked entries via online swim records?

Glittertwins · 11/05/2022 12:28

@Madcats - National meet qualification must be a LC time, no conversion from SC

itsgettingweird · 11/05/2022 16:03

And all times are checked when you enter manually for county and regionals.

The number of invalid entries because times don't match 🤦🏼‍♀️

Glittertwins · 11/05/2022 16:12

No such thing as licensed meets when I was DS's age. Could get a regional time in a training session as long as two timekeepers corroborated it.
Cheating to get into events did happen too, I'd be too embarrassed to claim I was faster than I was and crawl in last!!!

TheAbbotOfUnreason · 12/05/2022 10:44

I remember sending in reams of evidence for times for National’s entries. They certainly do check!

Glittertwins · 12/05/2022 13:35

Woohoo, he's on the draft invitation list for the British summer meet. Just waiting for the actual invite in 4 days time.
Still nothing on para by the looks of it though.

Madcats · 13/05/2022 08:36

Congratulations, miniglitter!

So is that worthy of a new hat/t shirt/hoody?

Glittertwins · 13/05/2022 09:25

There will be a hoody. Already been fleeced for race stuff!

TheAbbotOfUnreason · 13/05/2022 10:43

Congrats to miniglitter, but Ouch! on the race stuff.

It’s not a cheap sport, is it?

Glittertwins · 13/05/2022 20:38

Para entries from June 3rd

itsgettingweird · 13/05/2022 21:03

British swimming have all the info on their page now.

They've extended the comp forward from Friday 22nd July as they couldn't fit it all it with the extra age group.

They've the info on updating the biog etc which needs to be done before you can enter.

Link to enter after you e received your email.

Para swimmers can enter on June 3rd - still no actual information about how to qualify though!

WidowTwonky · 13/05/2022 21:42
