So, with BYMT auditions already underway and NYMT open for booking, it's surely time for a 2022 thread?? Who's in?

Submitted DD's NYMT actor self-tape and booked her audition today, eek! Need to also get her musician audition recorded this side of Christmas as we go on hols on 27th and she's back to school on 4/5th (PCR dependent 🙈)

So I'm new to all this. My son has been offered The Showcase Concert...can anyone tell me anything about the showcase?

Hello @frizz289!! My DD is also going to be on the Showcase Concerts. We don't know the full details as this is a new thing for this year. But it looks like a sort of Gala programme, with semi-staged excerpts and big numbers from several different shows. They've also hinted at involving some alumni, which could be super exciting!!! Currently only confirmed at Kingston Rose, but as it's the touring production it's likely that there will be at least one other venue confirmed at some point.

Heard the same and my dd is in the Showcase too. Also new and dd is young so I’m happy to have this for her first experience as it’s not as full on in show week as the full shows are. I’m really excited about it and the staff running it are great

All happy here too thank goodness! DD1 got Chess, DD2 got showcase, and DD3 workshop.

Gonna be another busy summer but I’m so delighted that all three of them have something to look forward to ❤️

I’m bemused lol as I can join in the receiving emails chat as ds got one too but it’s obviously an error as he wasn’t at recalls.

huge congratulations @Montimom! that's awesome that all three have got something! What a talented bunch!

@Scatty345 have you checked your spam?? I would give it another couple of hours then perhaps send a gentle nudge to say you haven't heard anything and are aware that castings for all productions have been being released in case there has been an oversight. With so many applicants, it happens... (it happened to us last year in fact!).

Just a quick question for those who have done this before. For rehearsals on the first day do they expect them there at a specific time to rehearse or is it just that date they arrive on and start things in evening or the following day. Just trying to work out if we should travel down the day before?

So any thoughts on when other Showcase dates will be given? By worry is what if you can't make the other date/s. It's a lot of money to pay out if you find out you can't do it! I'm wobbling now!!

@Alakazam8 given it's such a short rehearsal window for showcase I'd imagine an early start.

@frizz289 you could always drop Kylie an email and ask? It's a legitimate worry.

@Alakazam8 they generally ask people to be there at 11am. Then they get a bit of an intro and some lunch and start rehearsing pretty quickly.

I would send them a message to check as things have gone astray in the past. We didn’t get one last year and then this year for one that can’t be for us lol. They are happy to receive the emails so I won’t worry about contacting them.
