So my last time of opening this thread - a place to share 😊

It did! @folkmamma Thanks for pointing this out. I retrieved ours from the junk box. It is interesting how we interpreted the information so differently. I have benefited a lot from the discussions on this forum in the past couple of years. Thought I'd ask the question re Regional info and see how people think of it.

I had the email about regionals too. I'm not reading anything into it- I think they're trying to be organised.
Dd was only offered regional last year though.

I received an email too. It's the first time either DC has applied so I assumed it was a standard part of the process.

There are different people running the various divisions of NCO this year and with that they are doing things differently. The email didn’t read to me like an offer if anything just info if an offer is made and importantly the dates as you have to confirm your child can do them all and also the payment scheme for regionals which is different to last year. The info in the email isn’t exclusive.

I’m new to mumsnet and I have a DC who has auditioned for NCO under 10’s. It was her first audition so we are new to this, hoping not to long to hear if she has got in or not.
I’m not to sure if she will get in this time as she plays the violin and I hear it’s very competitive and all the children are at a very high standard.
But we thought we will give it ago and see what happens.
Video audition didn’t go perfect as she was nervous in front of camera and found it worse than performing for her exams!

Mickey- will definitely hear early next week at the latest as regional applications open on 11th Dec.... But i really want it to happen now, i'm over the waiting.

Don't forget that last year the results all came out of office hours to confuse matters!

I reckon it’ll be after the weekend as the Main Orchestra are rehearsing and performing over this weekend. Usually it’s after the last concert of the year, although you really knows!

I wonder if it will be different this year though- the thinking behind that was that it would be difficult for the U13s performing in the winter concert if some got in and some didn't. But U13s aren't in the concert this time so not an issue??? Optimist in me is hoping it will be this evening but probably will be Monday I think....

Sadly, this is the first year DS is too old for NCO, although I remember the olden days when we were sent a letter and had to fill in paper forms and return them. So much easier now it's on email, although my refresh button did take a bashing

I may have had something in my eye at DS's final NCO concert today. The contrast in the sound of the orchestra from when they were tiddlers to the young men and women they are today was simply immense. I envy you if you are just starting out on your NCO journey, it's quite something.

I think we will definitely get to know this week at some point! Got a feeling it’s going to be Wednesday. Not feeling very hopeful for DD as it was her first time auditioning and is still very young and especially with them not having a training orchestra anymore, the standard of playing is going to be much higher for the under 10’s. But she has enjoyed giving it a go and working on her pieces. So we will see what happens.

Without your commitment and support as a dedicated mum, it wouldn't happen! I dream myself to be there 2 years later! My DC has challenged under 12 this year.

Boyskeepswinging - my thoughts exactly. What an amazing concert last night. My DS has been in NCO from U10s through to yesterday's concert. From the moment the horns stood towards the Mahler to the applause at the end was truly phenomenal.

Good luck to everyone getting audition results (hopefully today or tomorrow)... my DD took her G8 violin exam this morning and is now awaiting U13 NCO results. We came home to an NCO letter which was not audition results....!
