I have started so may times and failed an equal number.

Anyone want to start with me again?

All the ladies I started with on the original thread are now running 10k. It can be done, I just need to sort myself out.

Come and shame me into it.

OK- went out tonight in the dark with DP...1m run, 1m walk, 2.5m run 90secs walk 2.5 min run, 2 min walk, 1 min run. Plus a few mins walk out and back. So am quite pleased. But my legs hurt more this time!

Good stuff shallishanti. I went out and did W2R1 last night - lots better than i expected.

Will go out on Friday.

Pennies - W5 seems like a long way away to me; great going! Hopefully I'll be there before Christmas

Well done you two. I was going to try to do W4R2 this evening but I've got a cold and I'm feeling sorry for myself. Must tank myself up on painkillers and go out tomorrow, otherwise I will get out of the habit.

Determined to be running properly by Christmas.

was raining last night. Hope to go out tonight- dry so far!

NotaStepfordWife · 13/11/2009 20:48

Was supposed to go out tonight, but monsoon like conditions outside prevented it and I'm now a large bowl of pasta and two glasses of wine down... hey ho - what could I do?!

Hopefully there will be a gap in the lashing rain tomorrow morning so I can do W2R2 - it's too easy to give up at this early stage, so really want to keep at it.

Hope you got out shallishanti and that you're all enjoying your Friday evenings - the best night of the week

Don't go out there, it's hell!

Very cold and wet, had a reasonable crack at W4R2 but I couldn't quite finish. Too windy and I'm too full of cold.

I admire your commitment gk... I ended up going out yesterday morning - no rain, but blowing a gale and I found it very difficult. I'm not good at running in the mornings though - always find it harder for some reason.

just about to go out and do W2R3, and hoping it's easier than yesterday's run.

Hope you've all had good weekends.

NotaStepfordWife · 15/11/2009 23:05

So I went - and it was the best yet .

W3R1 on Tuesday.

giddykipper · 16/11/2009 09:34

Well done NaSW. I haven't been out since Friday, had a stinking cold all weekend. I'm lying on the sofa in front of Jeremy Kyle this morning!

It must be bad if you are taking comfort in Jeremy Vile! Hope you're feeling better and have managed to get out.

Just done W3R1 - why did each of my 3 min runs start at the bottom of a blardy hill?! [sod's law emoticon]

Still, it was better than I thought it would be. Next one Thursday...

giddykipper · 23/11/2009 21:45

Well I went out on Saturday to do W4R3, a nightmare, couldn't finish it.

Went out tonight, trying to decide if I should do W4R3 again, decided to do W5R1 and I managed it! Wahey! Somehow seemed easier than W4. It's all in the mind.

Yay finally got started - just finished week 1 and starting week 2 tonight. It isn't that bad but I do think that I'm they're true definition of a couch potato!!
