Sorry this one and it is not sensitive unless you don’t want to feel sick

Well yes, I almost tear up at the thought of a leg session, for quite different reasons as she stated however.
Will never enjoy them.

Gobacktotheworld2 · 18/01/2026 21:09

Cultists, lickarses. They're so embarrassing

I can't help but think Caroline principally created the app just to cultivate a space where such OTT comments could rage on unabated, and she wouldn't get those odd critical remarks about her (parlous) RDL form.😄

BigButtons · 19/01/2026 06:39

I have started commenting a bit. No gushing from me at all- healthy critique. Other people have taken over from the Kearneys. The new buzz word seems to be SUPERB. 🤮

Even caroline described one of her recent play workouts as being a "wee spicy one"

whatwoulddexterdo · 19/01/2026 10:45

Hey 👋 please can I join in?
have lurked for ages and share so many of your frustrations with the CG app
Unfortunately I just let my renewal renew for 12 months without having the mental time to think through it properly
also does anyone know if you do cancel the subscription, will your data stay there so you can go back at some point with all the workouts you’ve done shown as complete?

I absolutely hated iron pro with a passion, but am quite liking Play. Although I do ALOT of substitutions, either because I don’t like them, or they don’t work for me.

I have exercised consistently for. 25 years now and my passion is kettlebells, I belong to a studio local to me and CG kind of fills the days in between swinging.

i also really rate Heather Robertson and Growingannanas
but I only really get the pure release and dopamine fix from my bells.

You have all made me chuckle with your comments about the FB group and the app comments, and those 2 who have disappeared…..

Keepoffmyartichokes · 19/01/2026 12:40

So I posted about enjoying fuel in Friday and I was excited to get a run in over the weekend and carry on with fuel and I have been struck down with this bloody cold 😡 few days of rest for me now.

BigButtons · 19/01/2026 17:31

@whatwoulddexterdo welcome! I have some bells but don't use them any more. not sure why as i had some great dads. I would not do caroline's kettle bell stuff. It is too specialist and I don't think she is in a position to teach that. Glad you have something that you love!

@Keepoffmyartichokes oh no, it is the season for the lurgies. rest up and feel better soon.
I did play day whatever today- the new circuit one. I loathe circuits for some reason but it went surprisingly quickly and I certainly went to proper failure a couple of times. I will not be doing the glutes one though - or I might actually as i didn't do that on monday and friday i am off for a weekend mini break.

Fibrous · 19/01/2026 19:15

I did play day 12 today too. My first one in over a week due to the lurgee. It was good to get one in the bag as I was thinking of sacking it off to catch up on some work instead. My motivation falls off a cliff if I leave it too many days between exercising.

disappointed101 · 19/01/2026 20:53

Back with Caroline. I do have the app but I don’t know, I’m not really into her programming on that. Last one I did was rev. I seem to enjoy her 6 week series. Anyway I shan’t renew for now and concentrate on those ones I didn’t do on YouTube. I lost my dad end of last year and so have been flitting between things. I’m going to try my hardest to complete epic 2.
what happened to the two who haven’t been seen on Facebook?

Gobacktotheworld2 · 19/01/2026 22:37

So sorry about your dear dad, disappointed. Big hugs. I miss mine every day.

Gobacktotheworld2 · 20/01/2026 05:47

Play 13- glutes- decided to do it as it was all my favourite exercises for glutes (staggered RDL, bridges, Bulgarians) but it wasn't till getting my weights out during the intro that I realised it was that 10 x 10 / German volume training format. Eep. Had studiously avoided it hitherto but decided to bite the bullet.

Pros- the workout went quickly with no time for thumb twiddling. And it did hit the muscles- my glutes were feeling it by set 3 or 4 of the bridges. I liked it how little thinking time there was.

Cons- the format encourages pretty speedy reps, which didn't always feel totally safe to me. I also don't feel as much from lightweight faster Bulgarians as slow full range ones whether bodyweight or with 20kg. The latter definitely gets me closer to failure.

Good workout? Yes. Will repeat? Nope. It would be better with 60 sec rests and more time to complete reps in a more slow, controlled fashion. But really I don't think what Caroline's programming needs is more effing volume 😃

BigButtons · 20/01/2026 16:33

@disappointed101 very sorry to hear about your lovely dad . It is horrible. Mine died 10 years ago this coming June and I still miss him terribly.
@Gobacktotheworld2 I hate glute day but LOVE gvt- so if made glute day slightly less awful and time flew. The Bulgarians felt pointless and didn’t at all hurt . I used a double band with the bridges and kept the bar lower at 50kg to protect my right hip. That was the hardest move for me today. Overall it was quite easy

It will be time for a new thread soonish

samthebordercollie · 20/01/2026 17:00

I didn’t fancy the GVT on Play today plus most of the exercises (well 2 out of 3) bore me stupid so I want back to YouTube for the first time in ages and did Day 48 legendary legs from Epic II. It was way tougher endurance wise than anything on the App. Really enjoyed it.

Abra1t · 20/01/2026 18:53

I did the 30-minute pumping cardio from YouTube. Oh boy.

Gobacktotheworld2 · 21/01/2026 06:08

@Abra1t fab work. I am always looking for cardio variety so must try that one.

@BigButtons agreed, those light speedy Bulgarians on Day 13 were pretty useless. Zero DOMS, but did sleep extremely well after that workout. Perhaps I will try one of the other 10x10 ones since you rate them. The chest and back one could be interesting-- but would probably do alternating heavier back rows rather than 2 x lighter ones?

Day 14 doesn't appeal to me at all... too shouldersy... so might go trawl PE for a back one later this week.

BigButtons · 21/01/2026 06:42

@Gobacktotheworld2 I have done the 10x10 back one three times from my notes. I used 1 25kg for the landmine rows. It was a really tough session for me but I clearly liked it. Those weights do get heavy and I had to reduce the load as I went on for some moves.
I will have a rest day today - three sessions in a row is enough for my body!

I’ve just done Play 14. Not thrilling but the radio distracted me.

I’ve only done three of Play

Fibrous · 21/01/2026 12:07

I need to get back into things. I’ve only done six of play but I’ve also done nothing else. I need to start getting out of bed earlier, trying to fit too many things in and running out of time, but also procrastinating big style in the morning.

Gobacktotheworld2 · 21/01/2026 21:15

Fibrous, good luck! Sounds as if you are still recovering from your illness so don't be too hard on yourself. Needing a rest =/= slacking.

Thanks, BB, the info on weights is helpful. Gonna try that 10x10 back/chest this weekend and will keep the weights pretty conservative.

Also, thanks to the January sales I can haz barbell, one that actually goes over my chubby knees, even the one that doesn't fully straighten 🤩-- so my options for workouts just madly increased! The bar is 15kg plus the assorted plates total another 77.5kg, far more than what is needed for these workouts. I would like to do that amazing posterior chain one she released last Northern Hemisphere summer, and full body split x 3 in its entirety, again.

Fibrous · 21/01/2026 21:25

Envious of your barbell setup @Gobacktotheworld2 . I'm definitely getting one if we ever manage to move somewhere bigger/with a garage!

whatwoulddexterdo · 21/01/2026 21:34

Hey 👋
Evening all
i just did days 11 and 12 of play back to
back
i tend to stack these as I catch up on guilty tv whilst I do them
they were ok, day 11 super boring and I. Subbed the sissy squats because they really are ridiculous on the knees, I would not have attempted these in my 30s let alone 50s!

Fibrous · 22/01/2026 18:25

Sorry to hear about your dad @disappointed101.

Play day 13 today, I wasn’t feeling it but need to get back on the horse. I won’t lie, I was losing the will to live during those glute bridges. I was saved by hearing the new arctic monkeys single on the radio. I went lighter on the Bulgarian lunges but was still shaking by the end. Funny how these things affect us all differently!
