Yeah, there's something not quite right about her pictures, more than a little in the uncanny valley.

@BigButtons, you sound completely run down. It can't help that with your job you are exposed to every infectious disease under the sun! Hopefully you are getting some rest this weekend.

My darling dog is still in quarantine and I can't contemplate doing CG without having my good girl there getting offended by the music that sounds like yipping dogs! I tried a barrelates workout with Move with Nicole-- good, but the accent drive me round the bend (sorry to any Aussies). Just trying to keep moving and hoping to get some 10kg x 2 adjustable dumbbells before the weekend is out.

get yourself signed off sick and recuperate. And yeah, I couldn’t cope being a primary school teacher. Every single time I see my nieces, they wipe me out for two weeks. Germballs.

@BigButtonsIm sorry you’re feeling so poorly and hat the kids these days are so badly behaved. My mum was a primary school teacher but that was a long time ago when things were a lot easier!

luch as I dislike Alease Bott and Kala Guichard both of them are natty to me. They are both very lean so their muscle definition shows. The only one I ever saw on the CG community page who I thought might be on gear is Silly Boi himself.

My husband's suitcases are crammed into any space I could possibly work out in. Because old football kits and martial arts gear he hasn't fit for 35 years are essentials he must have to hand at all times.🙄 fucking men. But! I have 2 x 10kg DBs again and some wrist weights and I am going to try IronPro Day 1 now or die in the attempt.

Iron pro 45 for me this eve, back and biceps. I'm definitely feeling it all after my two week break. It's a month till christmas. I'm aiming to go cold turkey on the sugar until then, as I baked a tray of 24 full size mince pies on sunday and they were all gone within 24 hours, and I'm pretty sure I ate 2/3rds of them. I've also eaten my advent calendar already 😂.

Think if I knuckle down for a month then the gorging on cheese and trifle will be all the more appreciated.

I have been kinda easing myself back in by doing various cg Xmas sessions. I have doms everywhere if course. I love the Xmas sessions just because of the variety- yesterday was a pyramid leg day. Reminds me of the fun of the epics- everyday a different style of training.🙂
Hope everyone else is doing ok.
silly boi and his silly wife have been quiet. I wonder whether they saw the Reddit thread. I find it hard to believe that they didn’t.

Only a problem if it's a beauty Advent Calendar lol @Fibrous.

I have also returned to Iron Pro- did a step ups one (day 11) and it suited how sluggish I feel. It is similar to day 1 but without so many lunges or squats... this might be my new default legs workout when cba.

Felt a frisson of excitement when the advent calendar (locked) was added to the app today. Quite a few around the 30min mark though?

I’ve also been doing the Xmas ones. Had some time off due to being under the weather myself, then my weights being co-opted for DIY, so decided to do a few short cardio/light weight sessions. Oh my goodness was I worn out by 20 mins of dumbbell cardio. I thought I’d match her weights as she was on 6kg and I had that out, but no. Went right down to 3kg and it still killed me.

it’s so annoying that even if you only miss a week or so it’s like you’ve not done anything for ages.

I follow this thread but rarely post. Just looking for some advice regarding weight training while recovering from an illness. I’ve had flu or covid plus a chest infection and just finished antibiotics and steroids a few days ago. I’ve not lifted a weight for two weeks which is the longest I’ve ever gone without weight training in a long time! I’m still not back to normal but I think I could possibly do some weights soon. What do we think? Would you wait until you feel completely well or try it and see how it goes? I’ve just finished Max on the app and was getting fairly bored by the end of it. I was thinking maybe trying Rev as the circuit style routines appeal (but not the cardio-I would die!)

@thedogdaysareover51 if you're feeling mentally up for it then I would give it a go but stick with light weights and give yourself plenty of rests. And bail if you feel rough. And drink lots of water!

When im not feeling it i tend to do a workout that puts me on my back for most of it 😀
So a chest or glute session

God yes! I dread lower body that aren't hip thrusts so for sure need to be in tip top condition.
(I really do not like squats)

Dogdays, have you tried IronPro? Mostly 45 sec on, 60 sec off, so feels like you spend most of it sitting on your arse, or you can easily skip forward (seems to work best if you dowbload the workout to your device). Suits me rn-- 32deg here yesterday, same predicted today.

1 hour calisthenics this morning. I hates it. I hates it!! Well, I like the leg part, seeing how many variations of squats/lunges there are, but the only thing you can do for upper body is a million types of plank/push ups, which I’m so shit at.

I've got bad piles again this week (probably all the bloody mince pies!) so I'm sticking to upper body and running until it calms down, and getting back into the yoga which I've been neglecting.

I never seem to progress beyond 12 pushups. I seem to have a mental limit at that number!

@thedogdaysareover51 sorry you have been feeling unwell. I am also where you are now and have just started easing myself back in. I tend to look for the shorter sessions like the Xmas ones . I definitely take the weights right down and stop a session when I am too fatigued. Just doing something is good for the mindset. I find it so so hard to start again when I have had a long break, so even attempting something helps.

sorry you’re suffering too! I’m wondering if all the coughing from my cold has contributed. Probably lots of factors together. I’m back on the fybogel and praying it doesn’t turn into another fissure and ruin Christmas.

Hope the creams work for you! I just use my own herbal remedies these days as over the counter stuff or the lidocaine or steroids the gp gives me just makes my skin really sore and gives me thrush. Which is double agony!

@BigButtonsugh it’s so rubbish isn’t it? This Covid/flu whatever has knocked me for 6. I’ve never been so ill for so long. I’m still not feeling great but did Iron Pro day 5 yesterday and day 1 today and the 1 minute breaks were bliss. Exercising again has actually been great for my mental health as being ill has kind of depressed me as I don’t feel I’m ever going to feel well again! Dramatic I know!

Oh- had i hadn’t thought about the coughing. I am coughing because of constant drainage from my sinuses. Also my guts are not happy for some reason. I haven’t had piles this nasty since my last pregnancy a couple of centuries ago.
god no you do not want a fissure 🫣😱.
Hope things shrink back down very soon x

Sorry to all of you who are not feeling well, wishing you a quick recovery. Since finishing the iron series in the summer I got the app and have been dabbling with the iron program, iron Pro, and random 20min workouts, about 3-5x per week. I did an Xmas 23 biceps and triceps workout today which was fun.
I'm planning to commit to the Xmas 25 starting tomorrow, I feel like I need a bit of routine and accountability before Christmas. Also planning to cut sugar from tomorrow, but I have mulled wine and puff pastry mince pies for this afternoon...
