Hi. Can anybody give a recommendation for exercise leggings? Or are sweaty Betty still worth the investment? Many thanks in advance 😊

I like Nike Pro

Bayou2000 · 31/12/2024 18:30

Gymshark vital compression leggings. Strung tighter than Andy Murray’s tennis rackets holding in every lump and bump and being comfy. Wouldn’t wear anything else now.
vests are good too. In built bra.

I am still in my old SB's.
M&S have dropped in thickness and quality, and the prints look cheap, sadly.
I tried out Patagonia, Fjallraven and other hiking brands, which are a ton more expensive for not much better.

I loved the seams and flattering bum of the Sweaty Betty super sculpt which no appears to have vanished.

Those gymshark one's have no arse shaping lines and can't see them holding anything in Grin

TheWayOfTheWorld · 31/12/2024 19:42

JC London - pretty much the same quality, but without all the various patterns.

Gymshark are famous for their arse shaping!

EnchantedAutumn · 31/12/2024 20:12

not familiar with them tbh, but the image had no arse seams which i thought created the illusion of 'nice bum' Grin

Is it something else? I really do dread my SB's having to be replaced.
The seams looked good on the M&S ones but the fabric thinness put me off.

Cluckycluck · 31/12/2024 20:43

What is the length of Gymshark like? I wear 7/8s in SB so have always assumed Gymshark would be too long

Katesboots · 31/12/2024 21:36

I'm wearing Lululemons that I've had for years. However, after reviews on here kern to give Fabletics a go and possibly Gymshark

ChristmasLightsLover · 31/12/2024 21:42

I do not rate fabletics. Or M and S. the elastic on both of them is not a patch on Sweaty Betty. I like their power leggings. However the elastic in the thermal leggings is not as good as the power.

SB knock loads off around Black Friday, usually for a few weeks running up to it. Obviously that’s just once a year but something to watch for it they are the preferred brand.

My DN15 had Gymshark all over her Christmas list but that was probably very much influencer influenced!

Yes - I wait for the discount! I need a zipped back pocket for my phone so I get the SB Power leggings when there's 30% off or my birthday when I get 50% off.

PortiaWithNoBreaks · 31/12/2024 22:07

@EnchantedAutumn I really like the SB Super Sculpt too. The seams are great, brilliant compression and I never have to adjust them (this a big consideration for me). I got a pair online a few months ago. They appear in their sale and sometimes under a section called Archive Sale. Sorry can’t remember exactly. They were a good price, about £40. So I think they make an appearance once or twice a year in a couple
of colours.

I’ve bought and returned about 15 different pairs of Gymshark leggings - too long, too high (almost at bra 🙄), horrible fabric, fit on bum too wide on waist, wrinkling on knees, having to adjust them, waist rolling down. I could go on. They looked great but all failed the most basic of squat test for me. Same with Women’s Best. I think it really depends on your shape and what kind of drill you need to put them through.

I just keep going back to SB though I only wear Power 7/8 or Supersculpt.

ShyTed · 31/12/2024 23:10

Nothing I’ve found compares to SB power. I buy them when they are half price. They are on sale now or there is usually always an “archive” section on the website.
I was gymshark (vital or adapt) for a long time but they don’t feel as supportive as SB. Ok for everyday use or walking but not gym in my preference. I suppose it depends what you want them for.

Copperoliverbear · 31/12/2024 23:17

I love sweaty Betty they do have a lot of sales keep looking for the leggings then.
Adanola are cheaper that sweaty Betty when full price.

Copperoliverbear · 31/12/2024 23:19

Also like gymshark.

NoForwardingAddress · 01/01/2025 00:11

I don't rate SB, only wear lululemon and find them far superior to the SB ones I've tried.

I've heard halara are surprisingly good though. Has anyone tried them?

dragonfliesandbees · 01/01/2025 09:35

I've tried a few different brands but always come back to Sweaty Betty Power leggings (not as keen on the super soft or zero gravity). I bought my first pair 5 years ago and they are still going strong. I wear the power shorts too.

No need to pay full price though, they have regular sales and you can always find discount codes. Plus, if you sign up to their insiders club you get 50% off one item on your birthday. I've also bought on Vinted a couple of times.

I only ever wear leggings (gymshark) at gym or running. Not sure what you mean by supportive? I can't think that's something I've ever considered for leggings only sports bras! But even then I've not got much to support 😂

BoTimic · 01/01/2025 10:02

Watch out for fake posts on threads like these. If you think they don't exsist you would be wrong!!

I am a recent SB convert. They are great. So comfy. Otherwise M and S ones are great.

EasterIssland · 01/01/2025 10:25

Lululemon

SavvySquid · 30/12/2024 23:49

I love M&S fitness gear.
Great fit, great selection and good prices!

I was really disappointed with the M&S leggings I bought, they were practically transparent. Need to have a better look through their offerings, perhaps.

Chattycatt · 01/01/2025 11:22

varley are expensive but the comfiest leggings I’ve ever worn and stay up no matter what!

SharpOpalNewt · 01/01/2025 11:27

Gymshark are rubbish quality and so thin compared with any Kalenji leggings I've had for a fraction of the price from Decathlon. And my daughters got me some Sweaty Betty leggings which look nice but again nowhere near the same quality. They and Lululemon are just fashion brands and overpriced due to the name. I've had three pairs of Decathlon leggings for ten years and do three gym sessions a week and one yoga.

Basically if I squat in gymshark I feel like my arse might bust out of them 😂 never had that fear with sweaty Betty.

I do have a big arse tho…

Picklewicklepickle · 01/01/2025 11:41

I have a few pairs of GymShark leggings I like but the best and most long lasting leggings I have are from Gap and Born Nouli (these have survived being tumble dried on a regular basis for at least 4 years). They are super long though.

QuartzIlikeit · 01/01/2025 11:54

I really like the m&s good move ones. Don't roll down, re-enforced gusset & so comfy. Only about £27 too
