Couch to 5k accountability

I searched for another thread and couldn’t find one, so apologies if it’s a repeat.

I used to run 5k daily, then covid left me with the lungs of a 90 year old chain smoker. I’ve tried so many times to get back to it and doing too much means that I end up out of action with pretty much everything for weeks. I’m stuck in a cycle of either doing nothing or doing too much because I miss running so much that when I get started I just want to do a Forest Gump and keep going.

Does anyone want to join me for couch to 5k? I’m thinking that if I make myself accountable I’ll stick with it (both in terms of actually getting up and doing it but also not trying to leap ahead).

I'm now regularly doing Parkrun. Very slowly. The first few weeks I finished and there was pretty much nobody left at the finish line. It was quite busy still today. I do the Parkrun 5k on Saturdays, with a half hour run top up mid week.

Wow amazing @FunIsland and @Mysterian. I’ve stopped, haven’t got the motivation any more. My baby is 9 months now. Every week I want to do the parkrun but it doesn’t happen. Feeling fed up and fat really…

Can you get out and walk? Any movement will keep your hand / foot in the game. It’s really tough when they’re little. 🫂💐 thats supposed to be a hug and some flowers

How’s the running going everyone? I went to a really intense Zumba class last week so that did me some good. It’s been hard to get out with all the rain!

It really has. I ran for 7k and then got immediately struck down with a terrible cold followed by snow and storms. Went and did 5k yesterday though and loved it.

I used to love Zumba, I’m terrible at it but very enthusiastic
