I've decided to bite the bullet and get a peloton. Does anyone have a referral code for the £100 off accessories?

Do you really need the shoes or can you just do it in trainers?

Mine hasn’t arrived yet so can’t comment on my own experience, but the posts I read suggested it is definitely beneficial to have shoes with cleats. If you work for the military/ NHS/ have a blue light card you can currently get an essentials pack (shoes, weights, earbuds) for free when you order a bike.

@alpenguin - you definitely need shoes with Look Delta cleats as that is the type of pedal that is supplied with the bike. You can either get the peloton ones or other ones from a sports/cycling shop. There is also the option to fit pedals with toe cages if you really don’t want special shoes but you should check that with peloton customer support.
You can use my referral code ( listed previously on this thread or PM me) and if you get one of the bike + accessories package then the shoes are much cheaper.

@Courgetteflorette I have the peloton HR monitor as well and it works great so far. I know there’s probably better ones out there but i have no complaints.

@Psychonabike - Your detailed comparison will surely be very handy for those trying to decide between both models. I couldn’t see a massive difference in the bike+ when I tried it but I didn’t really do an in depth analysis of all the new features.

For the Blue light discount I couldn’t find the code on the app - I contacted Peloton via the chat on the website, they were really helpful and added it to my basket

6 weeks in and I’m absolutely loving the convenience and variety of the workouts. I’ve done as many stretch and meditation classes as cycling and it’s been amazing for switching off after 12+ hour shifts

Can I ask anyone who has the bike+ how much space does it take up? I live in a matchbox and not sure where I’d put it if it was huge. Carefully curated Photos don’t really reflect reality of a 2 bed semi in uk... thanks

@alpenguin The bike isn't small and does take up a bit of space, however on social media, I have seen people with them next to their beds or squeezed into the tightest spaces. I have a mat under mine, if I get chance later, I'll measure the mat if that helps?

@alpenguin - I have the measurements for the bike mat. The length is 72" and width is 36" The bike sits fully inside the mat with room all around it.

They are really friendly and helpful. There are many people waiting for delivery and loads who use the Peloton app but have different static bikes.

Ours is in a corner of the spare room surrounded by the home office/sofa bed/general dump room lol, cos youre looking at the screen it doesnt matter if youre looking at a plain wall! I wouldnt recommend moving it once youve got it in though - its heavy! We had to carry ours upstairs ourselves. Its also quite pretty, so it's not at all an eyesore. You will need a bit of space around it if you wanted to do arms workouts on the bike etc but you can always do off-bike ones.
