I've decided to bite the bullet and get a peloton. Does anyone have a referral code for the £100 off accessories?

Just ordered mine and managed to snag a delivery slot in 2 weeks, very excited!

Message me if you'd like a referral code :-)

Carina39 · 31/12/2020 08:39

They have paused delivery to Northern Ireland because of brexit 😖

Ramblingwords · 31/12/2020 23:00

Argh @Carina39 I saw that in the newsletter today. Brexit really is the gift that keeps on giving. I was all set for a peloton event coming up but Brexit seems to have buggered up my entry. I think if you are already waiting in NI you are fine, but new orders can’t be taken.

NeurologicallySpeaking · 04/01/2021 09:56

My code is 382MZV if anyone else wants to get one. Mine arrived last week and I've done four rides already - so proud of myself! I've actually never done spin before either!

Ditto previous poster about them holding value - I've seen them selling on FB for very very nearly full price second hand because people don't want to wait. Although mine came about 2.5 weeks earlier than they said.

Posting my referral code (above), £100 off your peloton purchase!

Aspergallus · 18/01/2021 12:22

If you are looking for a referral code and any of these stop working (a code can only be used 12 x in any 12 month period) go to the UK Ladies Facebook page and ask for theirs.

One of the best things about peloton is the community, a group of people to have tribe rides with and to take on challenges. There are loads of groups allied to jobs etc. Just search peloton on fb, join up and use your group referral code, then the group benefits too by using the referral reward for prizes and giveaways.

I don’t know if there is a mumsnet group yet, most are probably in UK Ladies...

We've got one recently due to lockdown and have absolutely loved it. Being a nurse it was quite difficult to fit spin classes between night shifts etc., so this has been a great way to work it around that - plus I don't have to leave home - even though we cant!

My referral code is 6XX74S, which will get you £100 off if you do decide to take the plunge. Feel free to add me :)

vickyq1983 · 20/01/2021 13:13

Hello! Does anyone have a code I could use? About to take the plunge and finally order one :).

Isit2021yetplease · 20/01/2021 13:22

I do indeed @vickyq1983 - please use S5B85N.

Good luck - you wno't regret it! took me a couple of weeks to get into it now i'm obsessed! Let me know if any questions. The Yoga I am also really enjoying too!

vickyq1983 · 20/01/2021 13:26

@Isit2021yetplease thank you so much! Yes now we've made the decision I can't wait for it to get here :). Wish I'd ordered it sooner!

Choupette5 · 20/01/2021 14:23

@vickyq1983 you’re going to love it!!! I’ve been using mine nonstop since I received it. All the other classes on the app are brilliant, too ! If you still need a code you can DM me. Hope yours arrives soon!

Isit2021yetplease · 20/01/2021 14:25

@vickyq1983 I don't know where you're based but we ordered ours around Xmas and despite all the warnings online about how long delivery would take, it was actually there the week after! I booked one online and then they called a few days later and said they could deliver a week earlier. Delivery men were really nice in getting it all in place and set up. We just bought a matt off Amazon, didn't go for the expensive Peloton one. I also didn't buy the weights but I wish I had at the time as hard to get any, and I"m currently using two tins of baked beans for the "Arms and cycle" classes - which aren't quite as effective! Their shoes are really good though if you don't have any of your own.

vickyq1983 · 20/01/2021 14:31

@Isit2021yetplease oh wow if it came sooner that would be amazing! We are in Kent, whereabouts are you? I was going to do the same and not order the weights... do you think I should? I'll definitely be ordering the shoes, I have some from spin classes at the gym but different cleats and they are a bit old anyway. Are the shoes true to size? And is it a mat I need to stand the bike on I guess? Ordering tonight 😬

vickyq1983 · 20/01/2021 14:31

Thank you @Choupette5!

Choupette5 · 20/01/2021 14:35

@vickyq1983 I would definitely recommend getting the package with the weights, shoes, heart rate monitor and mat - I think it’s called “the works” and it includes everything you need to get started and is much cheaper than buying the items separately.

thereinmadnesslies · 20/01/2021 14:40

Do you have to have the shoes? I’m tempted but my teen DC would use it as well, so lots of shoes needed which gets expensive.

vickyq1983 · 20/01/2021 14:51

@Choupette5 okay fab. The thing is we'll need two pairs of shoes so I'm guessing we'd need to add and extra pair on to that? Or do they have packages with 2 pairs? I'll have a proper look tonight when I'm back from work :). Thanks for your help though!

Choupette5 · 20/01/2021 14:51

@thereinmadnesslies - if you are buying for the first time I would advise you to get the shoes with one of the packages, as it is more cost effective. The shoes alone are about £120 so quite pricey. If you want an additional pair (that is cheaper than peloton) you need to get a model that is compatible and then attach the Delta cleats to it, so it’s not that straightforward. Also, even basic cycling shoes are around £60 + cleats so it adds up if you have multiple users.
If you have a lot of people who will be using the bike I think you can order toe cages for the bike so no special cleats/shoes are needed. I haven’t done this myself so not sure how it works but you can probably get an answer from peloton customer service before purchasing.
Hope this helps!

Choupette5 · 20/01/2021 14:56

@vickyq1983 they do have a family package with two pairs of shoes, HR monitors, etc but I think it’s £300-£400 more than the basic package so not sure if it’s worth it to you. Otherwise you can purchase some shimano or similar shoes + delta cleats for under £100 or just get the extra peloton shoes if you don’t need all the extras.

Isit2021yetplease · 20/01/2021 15:04

@vickyq1983 I am in Hampshire so hopefully will be quick for you too.
The Peloton shoes are pretty good and true to size I think - I haven't had a problem. I would definitely recommend them over the cages as it enables you to pull up so much more efficiently on the pedals.
As others said I would probably recommend getting one of the packages. We didn't but ended up purchasing a heart monitor separately and will need to buy weights separately too. If you have any existing dumbells though (just 1, 2 or 3lbs) though they will probably fit in the holders if they're the same shape.

Yes the matt is for standing the bike on - we've got ours on wooden floors so just helps stabilise it a bit but if you've got it on a very level floor or anything you may not need it. I also find my shoes damage the woodwork around the bike so i'm really careful to only stand on the matt in my cleats for getting on and stretching etc after.

Crazy8 · 20/01/2021 15:09

If anyone would like a referral code mine is
PH4J9U

vickyq1983 · 20/01/2021 15:27

Thank you this has been so useful. So I think we've just decided to go for it and to get a decent package including shoes, weights, mat and heart rate monitor. I've been spinning for years at a gym so would only ever use the shoes. I find trainers and cages very uncomfortable. Ours will be going on a hard wood floor as well so thank you for the tip about walking on it with cleats!

Isit2021yetplease · 20/01/2021 17:04

@vickyq1983 good idea! If you’ve done lots of spinning before then you’ll love it straight away! Just a case of going through the instructors and finding one that suits you. I really like Ben Alldis at the moment!
