Hi all - going to make this my challenge this month, assuming I don't get injured Hmm.

Did 10km this morning so off to a good start.

Anyone want to join me?

It's a 30 day month, so I'm going for the slightly smaller 50mile challenge.

I find it really tough to run when pollen levels are high! And managed a measly 2 miles this morning. (I did a 10k yesterday which was also hard work)

Iamblossom · 01/06/2020 22:35

We can check in and see how we are doing 😁

Hi - can I join you?
I managed 77.5k in May but didn't consciously try to get to 100k.

I managed 5k yesterday morning before it got too hot. Where I live is quite hilly and there is a beauty spot which is normally gorgeous to run round but currently awash with rubbish and disposable BBQ's. DDog would have a field day scoffing left overs. Skirting round it takes longer - which I now realise I can manage with the odd walk up a steep bit, so hopefully should get to 100 this month!

I try to get out every other day so rain tomorrow should be a welcome relief!

AuntieStella · 03/06/2020 09:05

5k this morning - still feeling hideously unfit and struggling with pollen (at least I hope it's hay fever!)

My total so far (converted to miles) 5.15

Iamblossom · 03/06/2020 11:19

Morning, yes great to have you join me! Need it for the motivation!

10km on Monday morning before it got too hot, and 10km this morning, so nice and cool, and was a fast time for me.

20km down, 80km to go......

I am a swimmer usually, and missing it so much. Can only go every other day at the most as running kills my back, I have to stretch out loads after each run.

6k in the rain today - went slightly further than normal as tried to skirt round where I knew there'd be lots of rubbish left by the sun worshippers yesterday - (DDog is a Hoover for discarded food etc)
left hip bone is a bit sore - I'm still a relatively new runner so need to be careful not to push things too quickly!

Iamblossom · 05/06/2020 11:31

5.5km yesterday afternoon, a good fast time for me. Rest day today.

25.5km total so far this month.

I did 100km in the first 10 days of lockdown and still have a slightly sore achilles Sad

I miss running properly.

Iamblossom · 05/06/2020 21:21

Bloody hell @showofhands

Why can you not run, because you overdid it?

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 05/06/2020 22:02

Yep. But I've just finished week 6 of Insanity Max 30 and I've been doing lots of strength training and walking so I'm keeping pretty fit. I can do a medium paced 5k but beyond that, my achilles starts to twinge. It's improving but I ran on the road too much in too short a space of time. I run off road usually!

AuntieStella · 06/06/2020 08:49

I'm nearly on track (aiming for 12-14 miles a weeks) as I can add two more runs of about 5k each, bringing me to 11.55 for the week.

We could do with more rain here - everything is looking midsummer dry and brittle already

Brimful · 06/06/2020 09:19

I'm in! I managed 100km in May so would love to do it again.

Currently 18.1, but going for a run this morning :)

Iamblossom · 06/06/2020 09:19

Doesn't sound like you are letting the grass grow! 😁

6.5km jog with a friend this morning so that's 30km+ done this week.

OP posts:
Iamblossom · 06/06/2020 10:08

Nice to run and chat at the same time, makes the time go much more quickly!

OP posts:
Brimful · 06/06/2020 11:05

30+ is amazing Blossom!

7.4km this morning so 25.6km so far for me. Grin

Stirmecrazy · 06/06/2020 17:23

Can. I join? I am a regular park runner who has used lockdown to increase my running distance. I can now (with huge effort) run 10K a time so have done 20k this week. As I normally only manage 2 runs a week I will have to squeeze a few extra 5k runs in so looking forward to the challenge
Great idea lamblossom

Iamblossom · 06/06/2020 18:50

So happy to have you all with me, it will really inspire me to keep me on track

OP posts:
Chocolateteabag · 06/06/2020 19:16

Did an easy 4.2Km on Friday and a total of 6.4km today.
Virtual Run challenge to see how far I could get in 30 mins = so I cheated and did a warm up run for 1.5k t get up to the top of the hill before I "started".

I am finding my left hip bone starts to feel like the ball joint is rubbing once I go above 5K - not sure why that is (but will do some research)

Total so far 22Km

Chocolateteabag · 08/06/2020 10:44

A steady 4.6k this morning so I'm up to 26.6km

30 day month so I need to be doing 10k every 3 days - this will be interesting!

Iamblossom · 08/06/2020 11:33

10km this morning so am at 41.83 for the month.

So much nicer running in the cooler weather. Have to spend 30 minutes stretching to be able to move my back afterwards though Hmm.

Bring back the swimming pools!! Hmm

I bought some running shorts from sport direct recently, really like them.

Enjoyed another couple of runs, now at 38.8km :)

Chocolateteabag · 10/06/2020 16:03

4.8k before picking up my youngest from school so up to 31.5k now

Stirmecrazy · 10/06/2020 19:08

10K done today along with 5k on Sunday so now on 35k . 100k still feeling a long way away! When does everyone generally run? I have been doing mine very early (6am) in the morning as where I run is quite busy and I find all the running around people keeping social distance exhausting as I tend to increase my pace so end up shattered really quickly

Iamblossom · 11/06/2020 11:10

Morning all.

Am up to 52.66km rather randomly 🙄. 10km on Monday, 5ish on Wednesday and just done another 5km.

Have also started using my husband's turbo trainer, and started a 30 day yoga challenge and a 14 DailyOM challenge for the upper arms, jesus who knew your arms could hurt doing 5 minute workouts with no weights? 🙄.

Can you tell I have just been put on furlough? 😂

I run after my yoga at about 10am, but when I was working it was first thing or lunch time.
