Hi all - going to make this my challenge this month, assuming I don't get injured Hmm.

Did 10km this morning so off to a good start.

Anyone want to join me?

I try to run first thing in the morning (7am) but am finding that now my youngest is back at school, getting back in with time to get him ready is quite a push. I went for an afternoon run yesterday which was (for me) much easier

I'm itching to try running every day too but I need to keep my rest days as pretty sure I'll go and cause an injury and scupper myself

Chocolateteabag · 12/06/2020 08:15

5.8k in the fog & then rain
Up to 37.3k

Iamblossom · 12/06/2020 16:27

6.5km this morning with my friend.

Total 59km. I am going to do this 🏃‍♀️💪🏻

I have managed 3 runs of about 5k each.

So my mileage so far this month is 20.76

If I can get a long run in this weekend, I'll feel confident I'll do it. So much nicer to be running in cooler weather!

Brimful · 12/06/2020 20:55

Lovely 14km today, for a total 52.8km so far.

Making the most of it being a little cooler!!

Stirmecrazy · 13/06/2020 17:13

Up early this morning before it got too hot , did 10K so now up to 45k

Iamblossom · 13/06/2020 17:46

BOOM 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

57.8km after a 5k this morning. Was hoping to go for 7/8k but my calf and ankle are telling me they're not happy - I dont know which to ice first! Grin

Iamblossom · 14/06/2020 11:54

Both @Brimful! Ouchie, don't overdo it.

10km this morning taking me to 69km for the month. Used a new playlist which was great, bored of my old running one.

6.8k yesterday before it got too hot so 44.1 total (though my Strava has gone wonky and added it twice which is annoying)

If I can get a decent 5k run in tomorrow morning I'll be just under 50k at the halfway point.

Iamblossom · 14/06/2020 22:07

Bloody good @chocolateteabag 👌👌👌

I did 7.1 miles this morning. I hate running when pollen count is high, and this felt like a struggle.

The only thing that keeps me running in the summer is the thought of how lovely it will be later in the year, and how even shockers of runs now will translate into good performances in a few weeks

27.86 - over half way!

Brimful · 15/06/2020 07:27

You're so right! I had almost 3 weeks of awful runs in May, I was hot, slow and heavy. Then the weather cooled a bit and without trying I did a 5k PB! And my heart rate has vastly improved, I'm amazed.

Big lesson learned - even the runs you feel are rubbish work wonders: :)

Chocolateteabag · 15/06/2020 08:29

5k done! And Strava has sorted herself so I'm at 49.3k at the halfway point - which I'm pretty chuffed with

I'm still pretty slow (well compared to the others I know who run) - doing my hilly 5 k in 35 mins - but it was 37 mins back in May so @AuntieStella i will channel your thinking and look forward to doing much better in the autumn

Stirmecrazy · 16/06/2020 12:22

Finally tipped over half way today with a 10K run this morning . Found it hard going but glad I slogged on. Now at 55K

Brimful · 16/06/2020 13:53

63.8 after a 6k today. Calf and ankle fully recovered, thankfully. 100km still seems a far way off!

Iamblossom · 17/06/2020 13:59

Just over 6km this morning which takes me to 75.3 for the month.

It was one of "those" runs today, really hard work, felt sluggish, got a stitch and felt really puffed at the end, much more than usual! Was surprised my time was good as it felt really difficult pretty much the whole way!!

AuntieStella · 18/06/2020 09:06

Two of my short runs to keep my legs ticking over, taking my mileage to 31.94 (of 50mile target)

I'm wondering if I can manage to time a run today to go out when it's raining, just to appreciate the change!

Chocolateteabag · 18/06/2020 09:08

Did just over 5k yesterday then had a dreadful nights sleep and decided to get out again this morning. I was planning on only doing 2k but ended up doing 5.5k as I felt ok
So I've hit 60k on the 18th

Better sleep tonight I hope - anxiety fuelled nightmares are p!&&ing me off!

Iamblossom · 18/06/2020 09:57

My hangover and I will not be running today.... 🙄

OP posts:
Brimful · 18/06/2020 19:38

Just a little over 3k this morning as the rain was really pelting down! 67.1 :)

Iamblossom · 19/06/2020 12:41

10km in a decent time of 57 and a half minutes this morning.

Now at 85.28km for the month, the end is in sight! 11 days to go...

Well done lamblossom . I too did 10K today but considerably slower at 1 hour 27 secs . Desperate to break that hour but can’t quite do it! . 65 k now but we are racing through June so need quite a few runs next week to make that 100k

GailLondon · 19/06/2020 17:56

Ah hi peeps! What are you’re weekend running plans? I have 10miles/16km to do at some point. My challenge for myself this month was 160km/100miles and I’m up to 112km so just about on track I think

Iamblossom · 19/06/2020 18:59

Planing 6ish km with my friend tomorrow morning, resting Sunday.

Seeing an osteopath for my back Monday 🙄

I reckon I might end June on about 130km if I carry on at this rate. Although due to get hot again back end of next week so we will see....
