After doing this successfully now for 2 years I thought I'd start the 2020 thread

All welcome

Long run Saturday - 27.5km done and it was glorious out there. One of those awesome runs. I've stopped worrying about my pace over distances like that and it's like a whole new world. I stopped to take photos (beautiful Cotswolds), ate a banana, fussed a good doggo and generally had a ball.

Takes me to 152/1600km

ErrolTheDragon · 01/02/2020 15:16

That sounds fabulous, nothing.

Windy here, and raining now but nicer than forecast earlier on so a pleasant 5km around the local WWT reserve.

165.6km

My watch informed me I'd averaged 4.9 km per day during January, which is a bit below what would be needed to get to 2K km in a year.

hopeful123 · 02/02/2020 01:43

Glad I found this thread to keep me motivated to run.
Will aim for something between 1000k and 1000m

Accidentalaccountant · 02/02/2020 06:41

172 miles in January so on track at the !moment.

TriSkiRun99 · 02/02/2020 09:39

Quick half hour blast on the bike but boy the wind was strong on the back leg.

I ended January on 222 miles:

Swim 5 miles
Cycling 134 miles
Running 37 miles
Walking the dog! 46 miles

Started February with Park Run yesterday and 2hrs on the turbo trainer today I think

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/02/2020 14:24

I was going to cycle but had an attack of the lazies, so went for a 6.5 mile run instead. Flipping heck - that wind! On the way home I really didn't feel like I was making much headway at all.

It's overcast here but not windy. So pleasant 6.2km round local nature reserve and park. Celandines blooming, lots of Lords and Ladies and wild garlic leafing up already.

NothingIsWrong · 02/02/2020 21:01

Lovely 8km recovery run and natter with a friend takes me to

160/1600

10% of the way there, so I'm ahead of schedule... we shall see how the rest of the year goes!

I love running with people I like. Parkrun I find way to full of people, but one on one is so much fun.

Jumbojem · 02/02/2020 21:39

20k run since last week.
Def need to get the distance up. Made the mistake of scrolling back through Strava and see that most of my records and decent segment times were back in 2018. Was running much more back then and it showed in the fitness levels!

30.45 miles of walking done this week. Been a tough week this week and I haven't got out as much as I wanted too.

5.7km today, a mix of gentle dog walk, (he seems to be limping a bit though not in pain and no reluctance so we put him back in the car after a while), and then brisker hillier paths on the outskirts of a nearby town.

177.5km

Fullyhuman · 03/02/2020 16:48

13 miles last week; 12 walked, 1 rowed. I’m upping the rowing this week; the walking, especially uphill, is markedly worse for my pgp than the rowing, so I daredn’t start running yet.

Up to 285 miles for this year so far. All mine is walking - no opportunity for any running or swimming with small DC around - but better than nothing Smile

ErrolTheDragon · 03/02/2020 20:57

285 miles
Wow! Are you a postie?Grin

RubySlippers77 · 03/02/2020 21:02

Oh dear. Autosum has failed me - actually 225!! I usually do 6 - 7 miles per day. It's 4 miles by the time I've walked the DC to school and back twice and done some cleaning at home whilst they are there, then a dog walk in the afternoon with them takes me up to 5.5ish. All of it is amble pace though Smile
