Happy New Year, everyone. If you've got a New Year resolution to do more exercise and think crazy Jillian may be the answer, come and sign in here for moral support, chat and a chance to moan.

Ripped in 30 L1 D2 done. Still hate cardio, but it felt like a good start to the year.

30DSL1D2...ow ow ow, lol.

Meggy - it does hurt the first few days, as long as it's just muscles going WTF have you done to me? Then keep going, it gets better and it never gets as sore as that again.

You should have one or two days a week of resting, but other than that you do it every day.

ElphabaTheGreen · 08/01/2015 12:23

They've got 1kg and 2kg pairs as well, BTW, for anyone wanting to upgrade their baked bean/coconut milk tins Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 08/01/2015 12:29

30DSL1D4 done.

Meggy - I find that my muscles feel less taut after doing the workout, I guess because they get warm and stretched, so don't be put off by the initial achy stage. (if joints hurt that's a different matter).

It really does get better after the first 3-4 days, and then its never as bad again which is good incentive to keep going!

Mooogles · 08/01/2015 15:04

30 day shred level 1 day 5 done, plus slow 30 min run..

Anyone using mapmyfitness and myfitnesspal? Has been an eye opener for me, how any calories are in some of the things I eat vs how much exercise you need to do to burn it off!

youbethemummylion · 08/01/2015 19:11

Level 1 Day 7 done on Shred its feeling easier everyday but I'm scared to move on to level 2 and feel like I cant do it again

GoofyIsACow · 08/01/2015 20:03

Elphaba I am going to go and have a look tomorrow as I am after a kettlebell for the gym as there are never any left in the weight i want by the time i screech in after the school run! Grin

CheshirePanda · 08/01/2015 20:29

Just done L1D5. So I've done 5 days on the trot. Quite surprised I've not given up yet. going to try a short run tomorrow when DD is nursery. Good luck everyone...

ElphabaTheGreen · 08/01/2015 20:43

Goofy They were on Specialbuy today so may be marginally more expensive tomorrow, but not by much, knowing Aldi. I saw some kettlebells in my local TK Maxx a couple of days ago if that might be an option for you?

CointreauVersial · 09/01/2015 00:10

Shredding again tomorrow morning.

I need some weights, but there's no Aldi for miles. Anywhere else do reasonably priced ones?

ElphabaTheGreen · 09/01/2015 07:02

Amazon is really only the next reliable/reasonable option I've found but sometimes you can get luck in charity shops?

ElphabaTheGreen · 09/01/2015 07:02

*get luckY

ImogenQuy · 09/01/2015 07:06

Yoga Meltdown L2 D5 done. I'm noticing a very small, but definitely there, improvement in my flexibility, which is a bonus. I've ordered Yoga Inferno too.

youbethemummylion, nothing is as bad as starting the Shred for the first time! L2 is a noticeable step up from L1 overall, but some bits are actually easier - the walk-out push-ups, for instance, are much easier than the full set of push-ups in L1. I found the main problem, the first time I did the Shred, was that L2 needs more co-ordination than L1 and I was flailing around a bit the first few days!

Cointreau, you can often get reasonably priced weights from Amazon - I have 1, 2, 3 and 4 kg from various sellers on there, and from memory the most expensive were about £8. The only thing about buying from Amazon is that some sellers sell pairs and some sell individual dumbbells, so you need to check what you're getting!

L1D3 done Smile

ElphabaTheGreen · 09/01/2015 09:37

30DS L2D9 done. Day off tomorrow, but that means it's Level 3 next week isn't it?

Oh, God. Jumping lunges. Kill me now.

Mooogles · 09/01/2015 11:47

L1 day 6 done. Definitely easier today. 4 more days til level 2! Not looking forward to the squat thrusts....

ElphabaTheGreen · 09/01/2015 11:50

I'm still not doing the squat thrusts all out. Still firmly with Anita for most of them. Getting slightly better with the plank jacks.

Meggymoodle · 09/01/2015 13:55

L1 D2 done - I had to miss yesterday as work and kids very inconveniently got in the way. Man alive I struggled with it today. Ah well, onwards and upwards......I love the fact that 20 mins and you're done - all good.

Might just run tomorrow - so much easier!!

Mooogles · 09/01/2015 16:34

Oh I had forgotten about the plank jacks - they aren't nice either!

Mooogles · 09/01/2015 17:18

Meggymoodle I am with you on the running being easier! Well done for day 2!

CheshirePanda · 09/01/2015 17:59

L1D6 done, and a 15 min v slow run (until my feet hurt). Going to have a glass of wine and the Musketeers all to myself tonight. Whooo hoo

ShyGirlie · 09/01/2015 18:30

Had a rest day yesterday, just done L1D4 there now though.

Well done to everyone, keep going!! Smile

its the weekend, hurrah! abandoning my diet for the weekend (otherwise i'll just give up altogether!) going to diet mon-thurs each week but will keep up the exercise over the weekend.

ps. how many rest days should u take each week?

Happypiglet · 09/01/2015 20:17

L1 D4 done. Slight interruption as Sainsburys arrived to deliver shopping but it is starting to feel a bit easier. Will do all of next week as L1 and then move up to L2 although DD has an op on the Wednesday so will not manage a whole 5 days.
Weekend off for me then back to it on Monday. Happy weekend all.

CointreauVersial · 09/01/2015 22:56

Have also completed L1D4. I shifted into the dining room for the bouncy bits, as it's a suspended floor, so possibly a little kinder on the calves. I'm contemplating a day off and a big fat lie-in tomorrow.

Getting easier...

I will look at Amazon for the weights, thanks for the tips.

JustOneMoreGin · 09/01/2015 23:00

30 DS L1 D4 done. I rewarded myself with a long soak in the bath. It was bliss.
I had a day off yesterday but did walk the dog after ds went to bed so I wasn't a complete slob.

confusedandemployed · 10/01/2015 06:56

L1D5 just done. It should have been D9 but I have struggled to do it on work days. I am going to make a concerted effort today / tomorrow / Monday to try and get in the daily swing. I am now hoping to finish by 6 Feb, which is Wales v England in the 6 Nations when I will doubtless undo all my good work
