Does anyone want to join me. Its my third attempt started today.

The first time I got pregnant mid way through. Second time was the start of the year and it was too snowy and cold and I was ill.

So psyched myself up again.

I need some company.

Pip, your experience the other day sounds absolutely awful - I am furious for you. I hope you manage to get out today at some point.

I did my 5k fun run over the weekend, and survived! I found it really difficult as I am used to running by myself, and there were (what felt like) hundreds of people running! This made me go faster than my comfort zone, so I completed the run in 32 minutes roughly. I'm trying to find another 5k to sign up to in the next few weeks, to keep me motivated!!

Go, Kid!!! The thought of the run is always worse than the reality!!

MirandaWest · 22/10/2012 10:50

Well done countingdown :) Are there any park runs near you at all? Am doing my first one on 3rd November.

Did week 8 run 1 this morning (before it started raining :)) and did 5k in 27 min 44 seconds :) Am v pleased with myself. Not sure I can keep breaking it every time though....

piprabbit · 22/10/2012 14:29

Thank you all for your thoughts - your are all inspiring (congratulations to counting on her 5K and to Halle and Miranda for their most recent runs).

I had 101 reasons not to go out today, especially as it was very foggy (still is). But in the end I made myself go out and I completed my w9r2 session. It was really hard, I wasn't at all sure I could finish it. But I got out there and did 3.75km in 40mins, so the distance is very slowly improving.

Feels good to have completed today's run Grin.

kid - gone on, you know you want to join us in our group madness. It's fun, honestly, I wish I'd started years ago.

Hi fraktion - 10K is long way, good luck with your training.

HalleLouja · 22/10/2012 17:36

Well done Pip. Glad the horrid experience you went through didn't stop you. That is really inspiring.

I am going to do my local Park Run in a couple of weeks. Did 5.5k in 42 minutes on my work out. I have to use map my run, as phone is being fixed again.

Miranda you must be a lot faster than me. Well done you.

Hello. Just completed my first couch to 5k run today. Started on week 4 as have been very fit in the past and assumed it would all be OK. How wrong I was! Feeling very hot and sweaty now but looking forward to tomorrow.

piprabbit · 23/10/2012 10:11

Gosh, you are brave jumping in at week 4, neolara.

HalleLouja · 23/10/2012 14:36

Week 4 you say to start [faints]

So that was the last run of the programme today. Went back into work with a bright red face, it was really warm whilst running.

I'm still only going 4.5k, I think to get to 5k, I'd only have to run for another 3 or 4 minutes but at the moment when Podcast Laura says I can stop, there's no way I'm carrying on. Next time I might try done music that goes on just a little bit longer - I want to have actually run 5k Smile

HalleLouja · 24/10/2012 21:06

Well done Auntie. [Passes the champagne].

I am one run away from graduating. I did week 9 day 2. Almost finished in the same spot as I finished the previous run. About 4.5km so the same as you auntie doesn't seem to be getting easier though.

Congratulations Auntie - that's brilliant news. Makes me feel all warm inside that you've been so successful. [hgrin]

I've got one more run to finish - but I'm not sure when it will happen as we're away and then half term looms.

HalleLouja · 24/10/2012 21:09

Kid did you make it out?

OP posts:
kid · 24/10/2012 21:59

I went to the park to watch ds play football if that counts? [Grin]

No, I haven't started running yet, but I'm getting closer if that counts?

MirandaWest · 24/10/2012 22:28

Well done auntie :) You have graduated Grin.

And piprabbit and hallelouja are very nearly there :)

Did my w8r2 this morning and got a new PB of 27 min 31 seconds. Not sure I can keep getting faster but do feel I could push myself a bit more (ie I am not actually thinking I am dying at the end so probably could go a little bit quicker)

HalleLouja · 26/10/2012 10:21

[Passes Kid her running kit - if you try it on that sort of counts]

piprabbit · 29/10/2012 21:19

Auntie - would you like to hold the other end of the finishing tape?

HalleLouja · 29/10/2012 22:03

Done. Still not got to 5k but did good. Thanks ladies. Am sticking here for a little while.

Well done Halle :) you made it to the end of week 9 :)

I haven't run since Friday (pesky half term getting in the way). Am planning for my first park run on Saturday to be my last run of week 9 so need to get two runs in before then. Think they are going to be pacing around (and around) v local streets at this rate....

piprabbit · 30/10/2012 10:51

Brilliant Halle - I'm so pleased for you that you've done all nine weeks [hgrin].

HalleLouja · 30/10/2012 12:09

Am going out on tomorrow need to keep the momentum going.
