Does anyone want to join me. Its my third attempt started today.

The first time I got pregnant mid way through. Second time was the start of the year and it was too snowy and cold and I was ill.

So psyched myself up again.

I need some company.

Did week 9 run 1 today. Bit slower than Friday. Plus didn't run for 30 minutes but did do 5k so ok I think. Had to run right around where we live due to half term and so children here. Ended up with a little 1k route :) still on track for my final run being park run on Saturday :)

HalleLouja · 30/10/2012 13:19

Well done Miranda. Join in Mexcian waving.

Yeah Miranda - well done

PedallingSquares · 30/10/2012 15:21

Wow some inspiring stories on this thread.

Is it too late to join you? I have completed Wk 2 of NHS podcasts and plan to start W3 tomorrow.

It's fantastic to read that so many of you are running 25mins+ and actually enjoying it. I am so nervous about doing the three minutes tomorrow [wimp emoticon]

HalleLouja · 30/10/2012 17:13

Pedalling its not too late to join though this thread has died a bit. I am thinking of sticking around for a little while as can't actually run 5k and want to get there however long it takes me to run that far.

OP posts:
piprabbit · 30/10/2012 19:01

Pedalling - do please stay around.
I'm in the middle of week 9, but must confess that it's been over a week since I ran and I probably won't get the chance until next week now. I may have to go back to week 8 (or 7) Sad.

HalleLouja · 30/10/2012 20:01

Pip I hadn't run since last Wednesday but was still ok. There isn't a huge difference between weeks.

Yay! Well done Halle and Miranda. My goals are; to keep going until I reach 5k and then, to go a bit faster so I get to 5k in 30 mins. I kept going for 31 mins on sunday but the sodding gps didn't work again.

I'm hoping to carry on hanging around the thread whilst trying to reach my goals.

Does anyone else get an achey bum/hip after running?

PedallingSquares · 31/10/2012 11:41

Hello again. Thanks for the responses. I will definitely stick around, you are all inspiring me with your successes [hgrin]

I did Wk3 R1 today and I managed it. I was sure Laura had the timings out though because that last 3 minutes seemed to go on and on, not helped by the fact that I had to run up a slight gradient hill at the end. [hsmile]

Hopefully I will do Wk3 R2 on Friday.

HalleLouja · 31/10/2012 13:03

Well done Pedalling it is really hard going but worth it. She says hopefully.

MirandaWest · 01/11/2012 15:42

I need to be checked up on later. Need to do a run but have to go out and do other stuff first.....

piprabbit · 01/11/2012 19:22

Hi Miranda - did you manage to get out for your run?

HalleLouja · 01/11/2012 20:06

I am going out for my first post grad run. Might keep Rawbert and work on play list over the weekend.

Not sure what to put on. Am thinking cheesy garage. Makes me want to dance so hopefully help with running too.

OP posts:
HalleLouja · 01/11/2012 20:07

Kid you still there lurking?

OP posts:
MirandaWest · 01/11/2012 20:16

I ran :) Wasn't that impressed with the dark and my legs weren't impressed with running at that time of day but dutifully did my 5k. In almost the same time as I did on Tuesday.

So now one more run to go until graduation and it'll be a park run :)

HalleLouja · 01/11/2012 21:13

Well done Miranda still not got to 5k but did run slightly further than I have done previously. Partly as I pushed myself and partly as I didn't run up a hill at the end. Had a nice thing going at the end of my run.

OP posts:
HalleLouja · 01/11/2012 21:18

I think I ran an extra 200 metres - so am quite impressed with myself. Definitely looks like I have run faster in bits than I did last time. Now I have runkeeper up and running.

Am thinking of getting a second hand garmin watch to keep better measurements and keep track of my progress.

PedallingSquares · 02/11/2012 14:39

Well done Halle running an extra 200 metres is brilliant. Sounds like you are getting addicted - I'm hoping I will too Grin

I did Wk3 R2 today and I found it a little bit easier than the first time. I think I just need to get used to it. Running still feels very strange to me but it's early days.

Hope you enjoy the park run Miranda - well done for getting to graduation

MirandaWest · 03/11/2012 07:28

Well today's the park run day :) My lovely man (who I somehow persuaded to do this as well) and I will be there in an hour or so. Looks dry at the moment.

Will report back later (hopefully with a :))

countingdown · 04/11/2012 19:20

How was the park run, Miranda? Sounds like everyone is doing really well.

I haven't been out in over a week as I hurt my leg - am now worried that it's going to be really hard to get back into it. It's so dark late afternoon that I've kind of wimped out of going out in the dark - we live in quite a rural place - think I might have to drive somewhere a bit busier to run!

Pedalling I remember thinking that I would never manage to run for 3 minutes - it does get easier!

MirandaWest · 04/11/2012 20:57

Park run was good although quite cold (was OK when I was running but afterwards hands got very cold and went blue. I do have useless circulation though)

Did it in 28 min 16 seconds and was 17th fastest woman (although 92nd fastest person, out of 139). And so I have graduated Grin. Just need to keep on running....

PedallingSquares · 05/11/2012 15:45

Well done Miranda that is a brilliant time. What a way to graduate Grin

I did the final run of Wk3 today so move on to Wk4 on Wednesday. It was a little bit easier today but I'm still feeling a bit apprehensive about moving up a level. Still, I can but try. I am proud of myself for sticking with it and feel quite motivated at the moment.

Counting sorry to hear about your injury. Hope it's better and you can restart running again soon.

Have you managed to get out again yet Pip ?

HalleLouja · 06/11/2012 11:31

Well done Miranda! [Passes over the champers]

I have done another post grad run and managed to go even fast. Still not fast but faster.

Well done pedalling too. If you have time read some of the earlier posts to see how we all struggled and still do.

OP posts:
HalleLouja · 06/11/2012 11:31

Counting I hope you feel better soon. So far I have managed to avoid injury but feel a bit sore today.

OP posts:
AuntieBulgaria · 06/11/2012 21:55

Wow, well done Miranda, that's some good going. Had you ever done running before you started the c25k?

I was too wussy to go out last week in the rain so went on the treadmill on monday, I had a go at 10 km/h (the speed I'd need for 5k in 30 mins) for about 30 seconds! Feels very fast. So did it at 8.9k meaning still covering around 4.5k.

Next time I'll try it at 9.0k/h and work up gradually!

Hope you feel better soon Counting.
