Does anyone want to join me. Its my third attempt started today.

The first time I got pregnant mid way through. Second time was the start of the year and it was too snowy and cold and I was ill.

So psyched myself up again.

I need some company.

HalleLouja · 28/09/2012 21:47

Thanks Miranda good luck with week 5. It is not as bad as you think it is going to be.

Well done Halle, Remus and Miranda. How you doing Pip and Counting?

piprabbit · 30/09/2012 09:32

Congratulations Halle, Remus, Auntie and Miranda.
Mrskefton - I hope you enjoy having another go and don't get any injuries.

I finally made it out for my w6r3 25min run this morning. I changed my route so that instead of running out and then turning round and running back, I ran in a sort of circle. It's the first time I've run beside roads and past lots of houses (too self-concious up until now).

The 25mins was tough, although I did manage to up the pace for the last 60secs because Laura told me to. I did really struggle with the 'brisk' walk to warm down. After running, I had all the leg control of a newborn foal and it was all I could do to stagger slowly and stay on the path.

I slightly increased my distance to a smidge over 3.5km.

I'm quite glad that w7r1 is a repeat of the 25mins - I need to consolidate I think.

Oh - and Laura says that because I've completed week 6 I can officially call myself a runner - Yeah Grin.

HalleLouja · 30/09/2012 09:46

I think I like Laura - we are runners. Not sure how that happened. I did manage to run the last two minutes rather than slowly jog.

I did 4.5k in total including warm up and cool down.

Week 7 day 1 to do later.

Is there a free iPhone app?

I downloaded one which gives the first two weeks free and after that you have to pay!

I also wanted one that I could listen to my own music with!

HalleLouja · 30/09/2012 21:19

Not sure. There was one for android phones but just use a podcast. When I graduate I will be able to listen to my own music as a prize.

Week 7 day 1 was much harder than the same run I did week 6 day 3. I was made up when it ended. So happy.

How are the rest of you doing?

MirandaWest · 30/09/2012 21:30

Week 5 run 1 tomorrow. In between helping in DSs and DDs classes :) I too will have the reward of my own music once I graduate. I have a Nike plus thing on my iPod with a thingy I wear on my trainer so I know how fast I go and how far I've been :)

MirandaWest · 01/10/2012 11:15

Done my run :) And surprisingly was quite pleasant Hmm. Not sure I'll say that after week 5 run 2 with two 8 minute runs but three 5 minute runs was fine :)

piprabbit · 01/10/2012 17:21

Applause and back-slapping for Halle and Miranda.

TerrysNo2 · 01/10/2012 21:54

Hello all!

A colleague told me about C25K today and I am thinking of trying it, I even downloaded the app!! I can't decide whether to get up at 6am and start or after work, any suggestions?

piprabbit · 01/10/2012 22:00

Hello TerryNo2 - welcome to the thread. It's a great place to ease your aching muscles or get a very gentle kick up the bum.

I run early morning while DH is at home to look after the DCs - it makes it easier for me to be consistent. I'm also finding it lovely and quiet. But the 6am alarm is a shocker.

You could try both ways and see which one suits you best.

TerrysNo2 · 01/10/2012 22:20

thanks pip am going to set my alarm for 5.50 tomorrow, so I'd better be off to bed! will let you know how I get on!

TerrysNo2 · 02/10/2012 07:01

I did it Grin Grin

4.01km

Feeling achey! Smile

piprabbit · 02/10/2012 08:19

Well done Terry - that's brilliant.

I did my w7r1 session this morning. It was very dark, but not too cold and at least it was dry. The final 5 mins seemed to drag out forever, but I kept going. Very lovely to have finished it though.

HalleLouja · 02/10/2012 08:32

Well done Terry and Pip. Hopefully I can do my week 7 day 2 run tomorrow but have a phonics workshop for DS in the evening. Hopefully my mum will come in the afternoon and I can go running.

Fantastic, Terry - well done, and to Pip. I had a really busy weekend, so hadn't been out since Thursday. I could quite happily not have gone out last night, but my husband made me - so my next run is 26 minutes. I still find it really difficult around the 20 minute mark, so am hoping that I manage 26 minutes. It was raining really heavily when I went out, but it wasn't too horrendous to run in - and I did see a beautiful double rainbow just as I was finishing, so that made it all worthwhile!

MirandaWest · 02/10/2012 12:37

Well done everyone on all the running :)

Am not sure when I will fit in running tomorrow - may try and go v early as my parents will be here (getting them from the station soon). Thought of running v early is a little painful though Grin

MirandaWest · 03/10/2012 08:33

I did my early morning run :) couldn't find my iPod (and didn't want to poke around too much and disturb people) so went with my iPod touch but then that ran out of battery too (and didn't have the podcast on anyway). So finished off with my watch only and my own motivation Grin. Think ill be fine for 20 minutes next time

Movingforward123 · 03/10/2012 09:57

Hi everyone

Did week 3 day 2 today and enjoyed it Hmm and at some points felt in the zone Grin

I run in the gym, does anyone else?

Movingforward123 · 03/10/2012 09:57

miranda I'm very Envy you seem to be doing very well Smile

MirandaWest · 03/10/2012 15:07

Found the iPod so on Friday I will be able to run with rawbert for company :) I always run outside but that's because I've never been to a gym Grin. I know my body can do this as it has done before but it is needing a bit of reminding....
