Well this was always organised before by the lovely Leningrad - who seems to have sadly departed these boards If you are lurking Lenin, I miss you and desperately need help with my team. I am not trying to steal the glory!

So in honour of Lenin, I would like to announce the new league for this season. Code is 1176352-279591. Lets hope the Olympics have got our competitive juices flowing and let's have an exciting bunfight season, as let's face it, I need something to talk to DH about between August and May.

Can you explain to me how it all works.

You sign up and it gives you some pretend money to buy players to make a football team- you can only have a certain amount from ea h actual team (I think 3 so you couldn't just replicate man city or whoever) and obviously the better players cost most so you can't just have loads of them as the money won't stretch. each week the players score points for what they do in their real match (points for goals/ clean sheets, minutes played etc) points deducted for red/yellow cards. You have to keep an eye on whether they are injured and stuff to sub them as if they dont play they won't get points. The aim of the game is to get the most points.

Then join the league to try and be top of the league!

Come on - last year we had about 40 members! When I looked earlier we had 6. I asked for a sticky, but only got one within Sport and Exercise. I didn;t even know that section existed!

What's the name of the league? Will it give the fact that I'm a Mumsnetter away to friends I'm in other leagues with?
